...and it's not one a plunger will fix.

HAHA! Have you guys seen this story?

The international space station has a plumbing problem: the lone toilet is broken. So NASA may make an in-orbit plumbing service call when space shuttle Discovery visits next week.

Until then, the three-man crew will have to make do with a jury-rigged system when they need to urinate.

NASA says the crew has used the toilet on the Soyuz return capsule, but it has a limited capacity. They are now using a back-up bag-like collection system that can be connected to the broken toilet.

A NASA spokesman added, "Like any home anywhere the importance of having a working bathroom is obvious."

*insert potty joke here*

I love that video, Upnorth!
That really had to freak people out.

I wonder how much a plumbing service call costs in space?

Ummmm.... you can't smell anything in space. Your sinuses become inflamed just like if you had a cold or flu. I guess that's how it didn't matter whether or not they showered in space(which they don't).

Now just think of what they did in the old days. There were no shuttles or space stations with bathrooms. They just had a small capsule. YOu should see what they had to use to catch the waste. I remember talking to one of the Apollo astronauts, he was telling me about the time the waste got away. Yeah, I don't think I'd go to school and get 3 PHd's so I could go into space and play catch the BLEEP. Hmmm.. I guess that's it for our space lesson today.

Sorry guys I was a Space Camp Counselor for just under a year.

When I first heard the story, I thought it was a joke until I got an email update from NASA.
