As I havent written in here since my departure..I've been overloaded with obstacles to jump over. I spent my first week before school started up here just relaxing - LOTS of fishing of course, and caught some good eats not to mention :) Then got back into Marquette, Saturday evening to get things setted into my apartment. When it came to going to bed sunday night, I still didnt take in the reality that school was starting the next day, especially since my first class on mondays is at 4pm!! (WHICH ROCKS after the weekends of fun stuff of course! ;)) But now its a week later from when classes started, and you most definatley can tell its SENIOR YEAR. The work is unbelieable -- im lucky if I actually have time for myself. But then again thats another thing I have to get back into the swing of things - is managing my time, Im usually a rockstar at it, but senoritis has already kicked in unfortunatley.
OK but seriously, im getting off of here...ive got 90 logos to design by tomorrow at 4pm...for my fictious GENTLEMENS CLUB, yes i said it, gentlemens club...not a usual topic i'd choose for class let me tell you that..
Have a good night everyone!!
MISS everyone at FOX! Hope things are going fantastic....theres times like these that I wish I was still sitting by the assignment desk not having to worry about piles of HOMEWORK when its like 70 degrees out and the beach is down the road...
Oh what a tease this town is.

My summer is finally coming to an end :(

So heres a Dashboard Confessional Song that sums it up.

Yeah, I know..Im lame :)

So long sweet summer
I stumbled upon you and gratefully basked in your rays
So long sweet summer
I fell into you
Now you're gracefully falling away

Hey thanks
Thanks for that summer
It's cold where you're going
I hope that your heart's always warm
I gave you the best
Gave you the best that I have

So, so long sweet summer
I stumbled upon you and gratefully basked in your rays
So long sweet summer
I fell into you
Now you're gracefully falling away

I hate the winter, in Lexington
I hate the winter, in Lexington
In Lexington, Lexington, Lexington

(ACTUALLY I hate the winter, in MARQUETTE! :-p)

As the end of my summer is quickly approaching, I've realized that more than ever I am ready to get back to school. I guess I'll factor in the stuff thats happened this summer and I've most definatley have had my fair share of my family - seeing as my brother and sister-in-law (and their two kids) just moved into what used to be just my mother and I. Its definatley a change, and one I really havent been used to.

I am ready to go back up to school and be on my own again. Do things on my time, instead of scheduling my day around everyone else. As much as I love my family, Im ready to jetset to Marquette and finish off this degree of mine (ONLY a few more months and I'll be walking down the stage with a degree in my hand.)

On the other hand, Im sad, cause I absolutley love working and is a passion of mine and with school and other activities that I am involved in, this isnt really allowed in my time slot when Im up at school, tho it can be extremely relaxing. So I am most definatley going to miss this internship, which has taught me so much, and made me learn so many things.

OK, but anyways, I feel like I really am just blabbing about nothing because IVE been so overtired, So Im going to finish up the last few things here and eventually head on out around 4. THEN its nap time for this one...a very much needed nap by the way.

WHO doesnt love naps?

I cant even imagine already that its July 17th and within the next 4 weeks, I will be packing myself back up into boxes and heading on my way back up to Michigan to finish my last year at Northern. I seriously cant tell you where the time has gone this summer. With everything that has gone on and with keeping myself ultra-busy always doing stuff, the summertime just seemed to slip on by me. I never used to believe my mother or my grandmother when they used to explain to me that the older you get, the faster that time rolls by. But as I can see, that is most definatly true when you live a busy life, with things going on constantly everyday. I cant even begin to express how much of a summer this has been. It seriously has been one rollercoaster, from an ultra high to the lowest low, then right back up there again. Though, most of it is in the past already and I am most definatley looking forward this upcoming year at school and especially graduation. This year has a lot to offer, and I cant wait to see what it hands me! Anyways, thats my rant for right now :)

Now back to rummages. (keep on coming in!)

Finally back into the newsroom at FOX 6, I am extremely tired from the weddings that I had to attend/be in the past two weeks. From being on the side line of things, I have realized a lot things "NOT to do" when I do take that stroll down the aisle. Actually, I think I kind of have decided that Id rather not have a huge wedding, but instead take a trip to somewhere like Mexico, whoever can come can come and get married that way. Then when I come back, just have a big huge party with all of my friends and family. It just was super stressful being a bridesmaid..I cant even begin to imagine how it is to be the bride.

Now I just found this story intresting because I own two gerbils myself. I just am curious to first off all, why she had the gerbil in the car to begin with and why not just let it roam around until you can safely pull over your car and take care of the whole gerbil escapee situation.

(06-18) 16:52 PDT Springville, Utah (AP) --

Police say a teenage driver who lost control of her car while scrambling to capture her pet gerbil wasn't cited for an accident that hospitalized two people. Lt. Dave Caron said the gerbil escaped from its cage while the 17-year-old driver was southbound on state Route 51 Tuesday morning.

Making a grab for the fuzzy escape artist, the driver veered off the road and hit a stranded truck hooked to another truck by jumper cables.

The impact pushed the two trucks together, pinning a woman in between. She suffered a broken leg. A male co-worker helping the woman with her truck also suffered a broken leg. Both were taken to a Utah County hospital.

Neither the teen nor her gerbil were hurt.

Well, as I venture up to the Upper Pennisula this upcoming weekend for 2 weddings that I am attended, there will be a planned trip to the one and only Jampot. For those of you, that are curious to this U.P. treasure, its located in Eagle Harbor, MI. Its located right near by Jacobs Falls.

This place has to have the best muffins and jams in the world. You can most definatley take my word for it. When my boyfriend had pulled us off to the side of the Jampot on the way up to Copper Harbor last fall, I thought he was nuts. And what would this little place have that would satisfy my tastebuds. As I went into their small little shop, owned by the Monks, I realized all the delights they had - jams, breads, brownies, muffins. All the berries are raised and picked by the monks. So if you're ever heading up to the tippy top of the UP, take a little side trip to visit this amazing bakery, you WONT be disapointed.

As for me, I am looking forward to my huge cranberry muffin and a few jars of apple jam. :)

So basically, all that I can say is this past week has been the week from hell.
I got a rude awakening on Sunday morning when I woke up to 2 cop cars right outside of my house..later to find out that my best friend, who just happens to be my neighbor, attempted to commit suicide. Thank god there was someone that had followed her home from the place she was at (because she was acting nothing like herself), to find her laying there after overdosing on her anti-depressants. She is now in good hands and has gone thru 2 days of being at the Behavioral Medicines. She is now out and back at home, and I am just glad to still have her in my life. Basically, I wanted to bring this one thing up because a lot of people brush off DEPRESSION, as nothing. Hence, this girls mother. She believes that everything is fine in this perfect world. But this came as a shocker to her, that really, this world is not perfect -- infact its the complete opposite and its getting more stressful every minitue we're in it.

I myself, have delt with the issue of depression in my life personally. Not only did it run thru my family with my dad both when he was younger but also when he was battling with cancer. I on the other hand, knew I wasnt in a good position and handed myself over to the counseler at school (at this time I was in 6th/7th grade in middle school) With the help of them and just dealing with my father passing away due to cancer, two of my grandparents passing away from various other medical things, my dog dying, and just situations in school - I had drowned in horrible emotions. No one really was able to express feelings with me dealing with my father passing away because it is sooo rare that a parent passes away at such a young age. Overall, I got the help I needed and to this day, if I ever am feeling down or am in a situation where I am depressed - I talk it out or write. Thats my way of dealing with depression when it sneaks up on me.

I know that isnt the situation for all people. But basically I wrote this post to get it out to the people that dont realize that DEPRESSION is an illness and needs to be dealt with. So if you know someone that has any slight chance of being in a situation that may be going sour - talk to them, believe me as much as they might push you away, they really want you there. If they dont want to talk, but you know that they need help, then get them help. You dont want someone close to you to end up in a situation that my best friend went thru this weekend. All I can do is thank God that she is alive and back to herself..she could have been dead if no one would have found her.

I am a fan of random news..so you might see a lot of postings of random things that get sent to me or I hear about...but check out this one..

An Eco-friendly bra

A Japanese lingerie firm has developed an eco-friendly solar-powered bra.

The garment comes with a detachable solar panel which can produce enough energy to power an iPod or mobile phone.

It is also equipped with plastic pouches that can be filled with water, allowing wearers to quench their thirst without having to buy and then throw away drinks bottles.

The bra is made of high quality organic cotton, to ensure its production has the smallest possible impact on the environment.

The 'Photovoltaic-Powered Bra' unfortunately won't be available any time soon as it is still being developed.

So basically, I was sent to this link a few weekss ago. It kind of boggles my mind a little bit. Pizza FLAVORED beer? I mean, they are two good things in themselves, but together? Im not too sure about that. I know it originated in Chicago, IL. But they are now selling it in Milwaukee, Madison, and Wausau. Has anyone out there tried it? And if so..whats your take on it?
I'm sure after this beer with all the garlic..you'll definatley need a piece of gum. :)

Just wanted to say Hello and introduce myself a little bit, since this is my first blog on myfoxmilwaukee! Im Michelle, and I am one of the Fox 6 Milwaukee Web Interns for the summer. During the school year, I attend Northern Michigan University, where 250 inches of snow during the winter, is the norm. :) I am a Graphic Design major, and am planning on possibly taking that to the next level and going to grad school to be able to teach it to other peers or quite possibly take it in the direction of using it with Art Therapy, but since I am entering into my Senior year, this leads me to have a lot of big decisions to make, with this being one of them. I've got some time, so im not too worried about it. Other than that, its a busy summer with the internship, working full time @ Steins, & taking online courses -- all while trying to be sane and have time to relax! But thats all I have to say for now, I will definatley be posting a lot more later! Thanks for taking a look! :)
