I bought my car 2/27/08 2003 mercury mountaineer for $10,000.00 cash along with getting a 2 yr warranty I paid for. On 4/3/08 I took car in for oil change to dealer I was told I needed a new battery which was replaced the next day I had dealer make me another key that day my car stalled and killed stop running it did this for days I took back never found the problem a few days went by it did it again took car to dealer which they kept for 3-4 days without repairs then did it again then on 4/25/08 car did not start had towed to dealer, dealer replaced battery again and alternator and starter. got car back on 4/29 I drove car on 4/30 got to a red light at a intersection, I braked for a brief second until light turn green started to turn left after car a passed and my car stalled stop running in the middle of the intersection. if another car was coming at 45 miles an hour like normally I would of been hit seriously injured or killed. luck was with me. I talked to the sales man James at griffin ford he only told be "look at it this way imp getting new parts for my car for free" now that’s not the issue the issue is that this car I had for 2 months only is giving me tons of problems and issues, and now placing my life in danger and my daughter or passengers, the dealer will not find the problem of the car. I get no responds this is a bad vehicle bad customer service. please guide me in right direction. this car has been in for repairs 5 times this shouldn’t happen coming from a dealer and paying 10,000.00 dollars cash this cash game from my husband's mothers from her death in January of this year, I thank the lord for my husband to buy me a new car with money his mother left for him for his own personal use. If this car isn’t fixed right imp so afraid it will cause me to have a bad accident or even death

I would like my vehicle repaired correctly if service dealer can't find the problem I wish a replacement value on another vehicle from their company. If nothing is resolved and if the vehicle keeps killing in the middle of driving and it may cause vehicle damage(accident) or cause injury to me or my passenger I will file a lawsuit claim

May 1st took car in got call from service dept at dealer stating the car will be kept at dealer going to test it in morning to see if car stalls. May 2nd got call from service dept told that the service guy will take it home and drive it. It is now May 5th hasn’t stalled for them I was told their going to test drive it again and that there is a fuel tester on car. Told that they have ideas what it could be but cant fix the possibilities until they know for sure what is wrong. If the car don’t stall for them then I get my car back without repairs so in other words I run the chance of car stalling and take my chances in either a accident or other serious injuries. I feel this car has way too many problems for paying 10,000.00 and the fact I had this car for 2 months and it has been in shop for repair for 1 month total and I feel this is wrong. I don’t pay for a rental car but I do pay to protect myself almost 30.00 a day for the rental car place to cover me if there is any damage on the car while I have it. I do have full coverage on my car but I feel it would be cheaper to do the rental insurance since my deductible is high. But it is also costing me so far almost 400.00 for this insurance due to the fault of the dealer who sold me a piece of BLEEP so to speak. May 15 , still no car, dealer’s service dept told me that a week ago the car stalled on them but now it only ruled out and fuel problems, so until it will stall for them again they cant do anything (any repairs) the repairs are unknown again but they have at least 10 different possibilities again.

I need help does anyone give me the right direction on how I can take care of this matter, I bought this truck at Griffin Ford in Waukesha, WI. Off of hwy 18.

Get a lawer and go for the lemon law. If the car is a second hand car, I don't know is the lemon law will cover it then. I had a bad Van that I got at South Port auto in Kenosha on Hwy 31. I ended up going threw a fair consumer report. I called the BBB and they told me the steps. Get a car fax report too. That helps a lot too. good luck. I would let every one and any one that Griffen Ford is a rip off. Also contact ketrina by going threw the contact on the top of the blogs and options. Good luck.

Ok, where did you get the car? Do you still have all of the receipts from the first time you took the car in for this problem that are dated before the warranty was up? Is this a licensed dealer? Have you tried reporting them to the better business bureau yet? If you brought the car in before the warranty was up and they didn't repair it, then they are still responsible. If they did repair it, but you are having the same problem, there should be some sort of guarantee on the repairs they did. It sounds like they held onto your car because they knew the warranty was going to expire and then they would not lose out on any money. If the BBB doesn't help, then small claims court (I am not sure though because of the amount you paid for the car) should do the trick. AND if you win, you get either double or triple the damages. Oh, and if I were you, I would plaster their name all over this blog and every other. As long as you are just telling truthful things, they can't sue you for slander or anything like that. But I am not a lawyer so double check that one first.

Ok I need to retain what I read. Yes you did mention where the car came from. Do that in about 10 more local blogs if you can. I read your dates wrong and you are still under warranty. Have you talked to the manager of the service dept to see why they aren't fixing it? As for your rental care, you should check with your current insurance company. They should cover the rental car as if it is your own. The extra money you are paying for insurance is probably for the deductible on your private policy that you have. That insurance is so not worth it becuause your regular insurance should cover you as if you are driving your own car. Yes I did repeat myself. I would still do the BBB and now that I read where you got the car from, I am willing to bet that should do the trick rather quickly.

Does someone maybe have a vendetta against you and is messing with the vehicle? Regardless, it's almost as interesting as the ingenuity of claims that derive when individuals suddenly find themselves unhappy in their vehicle purchase and the money ties, which for all we know could be such the case here.

However, smearing the dealership when all the facts aren't known is not the proper thing to do. There are just as many people who make false claims that make valid ones. With all the diagnostic equipment, parts, time, and expertise used to attempt figure out something that drove fine until the subsequent day after the oil change, I believe they went beyond their responsibility of the battery not realizing who could have tampered with your vehicle in the interim. If you felt the vehicle was that much of a danger and was doing all that stalling it makes me wonder...why in God's name did you continue to keep driving it then??? (and with passengers too)?

George, I see what you are saying, but I can honestly say that I have brought my car in for repairs like 4 times before they finally found the problem and were able to fix it. The thing is that if you bring it in and the car doesn't do what you say it is or isn't doing right, they say to bring it back when it does. It is irritating, and this has happened to me with two different cars at two different dealerships on quite a few occasions. And I was also telling them that I couldn't believe that without all that diagnostic equipment they couldn't fix it. Once I even had to have a tech drive with me and that is when I finally got one of my problems fixed. So maybe if you can get a tech to ride with you, hit the freeway, go a few miles and maybe you will both get stranded and then they will fix it.

Thanks Mrs. Tracy and George_Clooney
yes all of this is true. I have all recorded phone calls all reciepts everything. As for driving the car i did stop driving it and it still is sitting at the dealers for them to find the problem. Sorry to disappoint you but for me tampering with a car a spend $10,000.00 cash for just isn't my thing, actually it would be pretty stupid to do. George i'm asking for help here not for someone to call me dishonest

Well, at least the dealer has your car. But like I said, it has been my experience that they drive it for like a minute, and if they can't replicate your problem in that minute, they send it back home without checking a thing. When your car is under warranty, they only get paid so much to do diagnostics and actual work each month. I learned this. If they go over their amount, they don't get paid by whoever is covering the warranty so they do try to keep their numbers within those limits. They don't hook up your car and try to find the problem. They make YOU identify it and if it isn't obvious to them, then they don't do anything. And that goes for EVERY dealer, not just one.

Well isn't that something. The last time someone listed something under entertainment as a joke and I didn't take it as such, I was given such a difficult time. I'm under the belief that someone is yanking my chain with this blog, and they're accusing me of calling them dishonest? It must be a joke.

I just think it's the wrong avenue to be using a blog to smear people when they obviously aren't here to defend themselves with the other side to the story. How much are you costing their business? Now what recourse do they have because of this? Maybe they should start tacking something onto your bill if business declines due to this blog.
