We've seen John McCain doing political ads. When are we going to hear from Obama? When will we hear "I'm Barack Obama and I approve this message"?

The events of this past week just prove to me what I have always said: Restraining orders aren't worth the paper they're printed on. That poor woman who was in MSO chorus and there was another woman just before her were both killed by their husbands and they both had restraining orders against them. I don't know who they are supposed to protect, but apparently they aren't working.

I share the opinion of the editor of the Milwaukee Post concerning Michael McGee. I don't get it! How can this man who has done so much that is wrong and it is documented and everything still get elected? How can he have so much support? If a felon can't vote, how can they run for office? And to find out he's still running his district from jail????? I guess it shouldn't suprise me. Marion Berry got to keep being mayor of D.C. even though he was caught on tape using drugs. But it's still wrong!

C'mon! This message goes out not only to FOX6, but all the media, but especially FOX 6. I know I am going against the grain here, but does all the news have to be about the PACKERS???? A camera man from your station came to our school today to film our kids having a march for peace, This was supposed to be significant, because there were two people who died from gunshot wounds a block away from the school this week. Plus, an alum of our school just died in Iraq last weekend. The kids were supposed to be sending out a message. Did any of that get on the air??? NO. Why? because all you guys know how to talk about is the Packers. Now don't get me wrong, they are newsworthy, but can you stop the overkill??? Actually I wasn't suprised that it didn't get on the air, but I was hoping it would. To bump off some children making a statement for peace in the neighborhoods in favor of a football team is just sad. Especially, since reducing violence in the neighborhoods is supposed to be a major concern for our city. In the last seconds of the news, I thought they would squeeze it in, but there was some guy in a ridiculous Packer hat. I know many people are going to consider me a blasphemer, but I am sure I am not the only one who is tired of all the hype. All I ask of you is if you disagree with me, please don't make it personal.

Have you made your resolutions yet? I personally don't make them because I know I won't keep them. So technically, I do make one that I do keep: Not to make any resolutions. How about you?

If anyone's watching or records it, tomorrow, you may see me and my 1st graders on the Season of Giving holiday special. I wrote a blog about a month ago when the station came to tape them. Tomorrow (12-22-07) is when it will be on at 2 pm. It's also going to be on Christmas day. Just thought I would share again..

Ok. Here's a good debate: Do you prefer a real or artificial Christmas tree? I like real trees for the smell, but that is the only reason. I have had an artificial tree for more than ten years and it is beautiful. Plus, I don't have to vacuum up needles and drag it out the the curb at the end of the season. Plus, artificial trees are much prettier and lifelike than they used to be.
So what about you: Real or artificial?

Dear Packers:
I want my 10 bucks! You see, I entered an "investment club" (aka football pool) at work like lots of folks do and have put in my 16 bucks, (one per game) My group's number hasn't come up yet. This past Sunday it was 8. But did the total score add up to a number ending with 8? Noooooooooo. One group of "investors who share the same series of numbers has won three times! You don't have to win for me to win. In fact, last season I won the pool twice meaning I got a return and a little profit. Not that I am saying go back to last season, not at all. Keep on winning. But for my number not to come up once???? C'mon. Next week the number is nine. Hook a person up! I'd like an extra 10 bucks at least once this season. Share the wealth!!!!! :-) I don't want to keep helping other people win.
Go Pack!

Hi. I can tell you from experience that if you have never had MRSA, you don't want it! It is painful, messy and not a picnic! I had the chicken pox as an adult and it wasn't as bad as when I had MRSA. I had to go to the ER a month ago and have one of the bumps lanced off of my hand. Wash your hands and if you find an antibiotic that works, use it. They gave me one last month that got rid of it but I worry that I may get it back.

I watched Star Jones new talk show today. I was all ready to dislike the show, but it's actually pretty good. She doesn't dish against anyone, she talks about issues and other stuff. It's not a bad show. Anyone else seen it and have an opinion? I was ready to dislike it because I got caught up in the publicity about her weight loss. Pretty shallow, I realize Like I said, It's a pretty good show.

This past weekend, African World Festival was held at the Summerfest grounds. It got some news coverage, but not a lot. It is always held the same weekend as State Fair. That is not the point. The real point of this post is to note that, during the three day event, there were no incidents. No fights, riots, weapons or other negative things happened. It was not a repeat of what happened after Juneteenth. it was a peaceful gathering. Lots of people have their reasons for why it wasn't better attended. I heard the same excuses: "It wasn't advertised enough", "The timing is bad because of State Fair", "I'm afraid to go", "It's too hot, cold, rainy" or another weather excuse. Nevertelss, African World Fest was a peaceful event. Yes, African-Amercans can assemble and get along.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think there's more to the story about the temporary closng of Bar Louie besides just the liquor license issue? It would seem to me that if they were doing so well, based on the business at the bar, that they wouldn't let their liquor license lapse like that. I'm not quesioning that they did good business, I am just wondering if there wasn't some other kind of mismanagement there.
