Yup, had water in my basement over the weekend too. Three of the four walls were leaking.

And that's in part because the driving rain was filling up our window wells. Wouldn't have believed it could happen -- had I not seen it with my own eyes. Spent Saturday evening with buckets scooping water out of those window wells.

Oh well, them's the breaks.

How bad do you think you're basement is compared to the ones you've seen by people being talked with on the news?

I was blessed. No water in my basement. My sister on the other hand had a basement with some water in it. A friend of my ex and I was totaled out. The basement flooded to the top and into the first floor. They will have to move(this is what they said). They could not get flood insurance because they were told that they were not in a flood area.

Sounds like whoever told them that needs to rent a rowboat and come out and see for themselves how wrong they are. How awful for them.

Mr. Cary, I'd just like to say that I heard you on the radio on Saturday while squinting through a windshield with so much water on it it appeared to be ice, driving 20 mph in a 45 mph zone. You and everyone else on the Fox 6 team somehow managed to keep me calm. Just wanted to say thanks. I'm glad I tuned in.
