Former Packer Girl's thoughts

I think the first thing I felt was disbelief when I first heard that Brett Favre was retiring from the NFL.  I thought for sure he would change his mind there had to be some kind of mistake. But today when I saw the live interview the moment he cried I was crying, he is right it is like a death you have to say goodbye even though you don't want too.  I do understand why he is retiring. He is tired he needs rest, he needs to be with his family.

It is awesome Favre has played 253 straight games never missing any. I can't say I could have done that. Bless Deanna's heart she gave him up for us! I understood as a parent how much he gave up to play the game he loved. His oldest daughter grown up in a blink of an eye.  So I hope he takes the time to just enjoy not doing anything he has earned it.

All good things do come to an end even though we wish they could go on common sense says it can't. I told my friend everything is changing lately everything! Nothing is the same. New quarterback (who I am sure we will grow to love) however with that said I am not ready just yet to put on an Aaron Rodgers #12 jersey, I will wear my #4 Favre jersey to root for the pack!    Thank you Brett you are awesome and I for one will always love and miss you.  We will never forget you. #4 forever!

I hope you're doing better, but wear your jersey with pride.

I recently graduated from Gateway Technical College (May 2008) I am the mother of 3 sons and have been married 26+ years. My favorite places: Coronado CA gathering sand dollars, Ocean Beach, CA simply because it is so laid back and beautiful. I love the fall in Wisconsin the colors are awesome!
