A Georgia college student is suing Valdosta State University over what he calls a violation of his free speech rights.

Hayden Barnes was protesting the creation of a $35 million parking garage. In flyers and letters he posted on his campus, he referred to the new structure as the President Zaccari "Memorial" Garage. The school took this as a threat -- and expelled Barnes.

Barnes has since been reinstated. Even so, do you think Barnes' free speech rights were violated? BLOG IT!

I do only because "memorial" buildings and statues have been made before a person's death, so I don't see it as a threat.
He had a right to protest such waste.

I can see where the guy's coming from with wasting so much money on a project just so that you can be glorified for doing so later on in life but he could have been a little bit better with the way he stated things.
Open mouth and inserting feet - isn't that hoof-in-mouth disease? (I better mention that this was a joke before someone starts correcting me on that.)

Right now in Florida a professor, Sami Al-Arian, a political activist , sits in jail TWO YEARS AFTER A JURY FOUND HIM INNOCENT OF ALL 17 CHARGES... But STILL he has been imprisoned for 5 years with no end is sight!

Right Now, another man acquitted in a high-profile terrorism case is facing deportation based on the same charges that a jury dismissed two months ago.
He was acquitted because a government informant posing as AlQaeda set him up!

Right Now, six men thrown in Gitmo four years ago with no charges... are facing death penalties in front of secret military tribunals. They have no rights to see the evidence, no press allowed, no jury, no lawyer.... just executioners posing as judges.

"First they came for the Communists
but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists
but I was not one of them, so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Jews but I was not Jewish,
so I did not speak out. And when they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out for me."

Barnes was stupid. In this day and age, didn't he think first? No, of course not. No one thinks anymore. How silly of me.
