John McCain's campaign is appealing to his supporters to "fight back against The New York Times." The fundraising appeal follows a story suggesting McCain's relationship with a female lobbyist had worried his aides. McCain denies the relationship was romantic and says the story is "not true."

Our question to you -- do you think this is a smear campaign designs to crush McCain's candidacy? Or do you believe what has been written about the Arizona Senator?

I'm kind of at a loss of what to think about it. I'm no fan of either McCain or the New York Times. I also don't buy into "conspiracy theories" including those that involve the "mainstream media". That said, I think that this story is a train wreck that the Times rushed to print because of McCain's ascendency to the Republican nomination. Further, since the Times had this information before they endorsed him in the New York Republican primary, if it is true, then it doesn't say much for the Times choices in endorsements.

Absolutely, i bet it was a Dem that leaked that story ....and they should be fired

....gross.....

I certainly don't want to here about HIS sex life.... this has no bearing on who he is as a politician.
..on the otherhand, his wife should be glad he's still interested in that kind of thing.

wonder if he takes v-i-a--?.....nevermind.

...i'm kidding here folks!!

I didn't vote for Bill Clinton, but when all of that Monica stuff happened, I said the same thing that I am going to say now. What does who he slept with have to do with how effective he is at his job. I felt sorry for Bill and all that he went through, and I feel sorry for McCain because most voters base their votes on what they read or see on tv, wouldn't putting straight facts out there be better for everyone in the country? I know they want to get more people to buy and read their paper, but at the expense of another person and his career along with his family life? Come on.

Oh please! This is hardly about McCain's sex life. His history as a philanderer is well documented (ask his first wife, ask his former paramour turned wife number two). The fact that he cheats on his spouse is not news.

This scandal, if the allegations are true, is about the hypocrisy of Senator 'clean government' McCain in bed (whether figuratively or literally) with the corporate lobbyists he has so publicly decried.

Nearly every politician, entertainer, sleeps around to get ahead...don't be shocked folks.

So what! he cheated, that doesn't mean he's not a nice guy. Wake up people. Least he's getting .....(let me stop.)

READ THE ARTICLE ... and ask yourself... isn't it amazing the damage-control spin thats happening all over the GOP spectrum? Every corporate media outlet from the whitehouse to Limbaugh Oreally and Kristol are giving this issue so much airtime... ??Why would anyone bother reading a gigantic article... when the spin-maters can tell you what it says!!!.... HELLO??????you getting this? its called propaganda... all you need to do for proof... is READ THE ARTICLE... its just historic record... showing the many historic facts the cast McCain in very different light... things about the man the corporate media doesn't want us to bother with... I'm worried about they way these corporate K-Street spinmasters are hy-jacking the news and spinning it whatever truth they want to create.... and we're not doing due diligence to hold them accountable.

This story is a perfect example... what do the talking heads say... sex sex sex.... they want you to think its just sex.. they're trying to dismiss it so fast... its makin' my tv spin. They even got the FOX webteam talking- talking points...

What does the story actually say... historic truth of his links to the biggest banking scandal in US history... his corrupt handling of the special interests of a corporation buying a media station and his close ties... (debatable how close) but certainly very close ties to a pretty lobbyist who was trying to get the senator to help cinch the tv station deal...(gee ya think they'd send an ol goat lobbyist to win favors?)

??But this is all legitimate factual history that these corporate spin-masters don't want us to hear because it could harm their only candidate...

??this is the point... not, was there sex... thats not important... its a diversion... a red herring that seems to be working wonderfully. America focuses on the legitimacy of the sex, and misses the whole point.

READ THE ARTICLE and stop talking from pundit talking points...

Someone should ask McCain about his P.O.W. days and give him a lie detector test while asking him the questions. Then we would all see his tue colors.
