MyFoxMilwaukee Web Team

by myfox6 from myfoxmilwaukee.com

Last Post 18 days, 5 hours Ago

You'll notice a big change in the blogs starting right now. For the next few days (and possibly longer), the MyFoxMilwaukee.com web team will be moderating comments before they can go to the blogs.

Why are we making this change? Quite honestly, some bloggers aren't being civil towards others. We can't be more blunt than that. The web team wants to keep the blogs and their comments free flowing. But at this point in time, it's just not happening.

The bottom line here -- your comments will need to be approved by the web team before any show up on the blogs. If you say something to another blogger that breaks any of the rules of discussion, nobody will ever see it. If your comment is pertinent and worth viewing, you'll have no problems -- and it will show up in the blogs in a timely manner.

Thanks for your help -- and thanks for blogging on MyFoxMilwaukee.com.

i know for a fact that there have been personal attacks on other people's blogs that i go on. i am not saying who it is, but, you have got to do what you got to do. thanks myfox6 i never post personal attacks or use offensive things toward other people's blogs. i always tell them that they do a great job on their posting of their blogs. thanks for the heads up, though. great job on this posting of this blog, myfox6. keep up the great work. like i said, you got to do what you got to do.

Hopefully people will learn their lesson and you will not have to do this for very long.

The blogs should have been more closely monitored from the beginning. It would be like opening a public pool and letting it be open with no supervision.

In the last two months i have seen an enormous increase in hate comments from some that left me wondering where do we draw the line between freedom of speech and at the same time having respect for your fellow bloggers.

It was beginning to feel like an unmonitored chat room at times.lol

This web site has always been known for it's warm, friendly atmosphere. thanks--peace

I'll admit right now. I was one of the people. I had to let my mouth be heard because I was tired of being disrespected out of the way I type or what I write doesn't make sense and/or above and beyond that matter and no one doesn't even know me or know anything about me.

I was out of order for what I did last week and I'm not trying to ruin anything for all of you on a purpose matter, BELIEVE ME. I'm not like anyone else on here who is going to get out of hand and prevent a lot of people from posting their comments directly and so on. People start stuff with me, just as well they do with a lot of you, and I know it's hard to ignore some of that stuff and you just can't hold your tongue in no more and refuse to bite it towards whoever, but this is a public website, but it's being ran by the top people of the company and they do take that stuff seriously and hey, who wouldn't? It's their job and they have to do what they have to do with NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Put it like this, if you heard this phrase of a particular song before that is familiar to whoever, "If You Don't Start Nothing, There Won't Be Nothing", then you should know what that means.

Hey, if I messed up something with y'all I'm sorry. I'm not trying to mess it up for y'all. I'm just trying to enjoy myself as well as the next person and mind my own business like everyone else does.

I don't know anyone noticed that when you received a comment in your blog, there is another selection where you can make an approval of a comment by selecting "approve". And like before you can always select "delete" if a comment you feel that is not good. I just noticed this last week, and I'm thinking, "Oh, I can approve comments now!" I'm glad that Fox6 has added this because of the problems on these blogs that happened in the previous months. And like before I noticed something like this would happen. But other than that, webteam, I understand.

WOW! I can't believe I have been blogging here for nearly a year now. In this past year I have made some really wonderful new friends but I have also seen an overflow of personal attacks/cruel comments. It is always a shame when a few bad apples have to ruin it for everyone. I personally feel it is best to ignore those specific people who are obviously out to get reaction by their crude comments, but unforunately some people can't help but reply to them thus fueling the fire even more which is almost as bad in my opinion. It's pretty sad when the teen bloggers on here have more respect and common sense then some of the adults. Maybe this will make some of the not so nice people/impersonators on here think twice. I Hope so anyway.

fox6fan, thanks for that comment. that makes me feel good. you hit that right on the head about me. thanks again.
people who make personal attacks on other people's blogs should have their comments approved by the people who post a blog. i know i am going to do that in the settings tab of my blog. i think you guys should do that too. that would save the web team some time since they have a crapload of blogs and comments to go through. we could just help them out that way, couldn't we?

And I thought for the most part, everybody was playing nice with eachother. With the exception of a few. I know that I have seen harsh coments in some blogs, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Good luck. Again.

Thank for keeping the blogs a safe place. It just to bad that we need you to do this. That some people can not respect the rights that go along with blogging. Keep up the great work those of us that blog here do care.

Enter the censors. You have freedom of speech as long as the censors approve your message. We'll see how well this works.

Censorship sucks. Our soldiers die for our Bill Of Rights, and the Constitution and Fox6 doesnt care. Typical.

You are going to have drama when people are giving opinions because , of course, we all don't agree.
It's in how you answer the comment that matters.
Choose your words carefully.
I learned that lesson in one instance.
Freedom of speech does not include saying hurtful things to people directly.
Or taking on another blogger name just to tease someone.
Freedom of speech means you have a right to give your opinion in an intelligent manner.
Lowering yourself to namecalling only makes you look bad and desperate.
That's just cruel.

I agree Katbird. People can disagree without being impolite or personally attacking the blogger. Some have not learned that.
