Here I sit.  Wondering what the heck to write.  There is nothing wrong to write about

.Ack....well besides the normal "lifey" stuff....but that stuff is daily and tolerable and I'm tired of writing the same ole stuff.

BUT, can I just say that I am reading the best book ever for the third  time!?!?!  (Tis true)!

I am reading ONE MORE DAY by Mitch Albom.  I am in love with this book.  I could read it in a day,  I'm shushing people because I can't put the dang thing down!

In short....the book is about a man who is an alchoholic who tries to kill himself.  Through a "blackout" moment he is vistied by the ghost of his mom.  He gets his "one more day" to spend with her before she passes.  A moment he had always felt really guilty about because he SHOULD have been there, but opted to not to be there.

Ack.  The book is just good.  If you pick it up and read it, I would love to know your thoughts.  I am going on the 3rd time of reading it and still feel the same.

I feel the same way about this book Jen ... if only, if only I had One More Day.

I for one, will never take for granted that one more day I have my loved one's in my life.

want another one to obsess over?

check out this book: "The Devil In The White City"

here's a blurb from the book's website"

"Their fates were linked by the magical Chicago World’s Fair of 1893, nicknamed the “White City” for its majestic beauty. Architect Daniel Burnham built it; serial killer Dr. H. H. Holmes used it to lure victims to his World’s Fair Hotel, designed for murder. Both men left behind them a powerful legacy, one of brilliance and energy, the other of sorrow and darkness.

Here, then, is your ticket to the greatest fair in history—a place where incredible dreams came to life alongside darkest nightmares."

Give it a shot. Betcha you'll be glad you did!

it's one of those "fiction based on fact" books that left me scouring the internet for more information on the Chicago world's fair that occurred a looong looong time ago.

that book and a few bottles of wine seem to be a perfect accompaniment - BUT - then again, I can't think of many occasions that some darn good wine wouldn't go well with :)

Another good book that is more or less shocking to the mind is Auschwitz: A Doctors Eyewitness Account by Dr. Miklos Nyiszli.

It is one of those books that you're sorry to read, but the description of what this doctor saw and did is SHOCKING.

When I read a book I just want to feel what the author is trying to describe, and this book does that VERY well.

have you ever seen the soap opera on cbs called AS THE WORLD TURNS? if you like that soap opera, then i may want to reccommend a book for you to enjoy. the book that i am talking about is called OAKDALE CONFIDENTIAL. this is my 2nd time reading that book. if you like that soap opera, you will love this book. the only time i can catch the soap opera is when i am home sick or when i do not have to work. that book is in your library right now. i just got it a while ago from the library in fond du lac. give it a shot. you will love it so much. i guarentee it to all bloggers who love AS THE WORLD TURNS as much as i do.

i forgot to add, jen, that if you have cable out of fond du lac, you can also watch the soap opera on WFRV out of green bay. that is channel 5. when you start watching for the first time, you need to pay close attention so that you do not miss a thing. once you start watching the program during the day, you will love it. but i cannot tell you what the book is about. that i am going to let up to you to read and decide for yourself.
