How many comedians will ever get the Supreme Court to judge their material?

I had no idea...this is probably the saddest news I've heard all year.

I agree, garageman. We had just seen him on Feb. 8th. He was on fire as usual. This is a very sad loss and not just for his comedy.
He was a very honest man who didn't fear speaking his mind and that appeals to many of us. Some couldn't take his honesty. It made them uncomfortable with their own reality.
He certainly earned the Mark Twain award.
It's a shame he won't be here to receive it.

Thanks Katbird. That's the clip I posted last night, before it mysteriously disappeared from my post.

I don't think it needs to be edited. It's really funny.

It's freakin' hilarious and I was young and impressionible when I saw it the first time.
What a great teacher George was and is. We can always look back and watch him anytime thanks to the internet and DVDs.
There's something about a free spirit that is so attractive and brave.

Comedians today try to imitate the genius and the humor of Carlin and Pryor today, while using the "seven words", but they fail miserably. They lack the genius and the life experience.

These two guys LIVED the raw humor, and they channeled that energy into humor on stage.

Too late Katbird, LOL, this is an awesome, awesome clip!

Webteam will probably forget to delete in a fit of hysterical laughter, upon hitting the "play" button.

George and Richard Pryor, my all-time favorites.

Glad to watch it again before the webteam takes it away.LOLOLOL

Parents should allow their little children to go on a web news sites anyway, the news is violent and teenagers have heard way worse before.
Why people fear words is beyond my understanding.
My 11 year old knows all of these words. Why hide the world from children? Let's face it, these words and phrases are reality.
But, I am a strange one. I never lied to my children about Santa, the Easter Bunny or any other traditions. I never understood why parents lie to children. That's one of the biggest heartbreaks of childhood.

I absolutely loved Richard too.
Both men were just honest, real people.
No hiding, no lies....just reality.

Funny! Crude, but funny.

He always pushed the limits.

Wonder if he had anything to do with the titles to the sequels to "Meet the Parents"

In 2004: "Meet the Fockers"
(This movie is HILARIOUS!)

Out in 2009, "Little Fockers"

He didn't push the limits.
He didn't pay attention to them.
Thanks for teaching me that, George.
There are no limits.

Ohhhh nooo...no titles for me...lol.
I'm just Katbird, KB, Kathy, Kat and Mommy.
Limits are for people who either fear the world or they fear themselves. I love exploring the world and meeting people.
I am no Goddess. That would be way too great of a responsibility.
I'm just someone that doesn't recognize authority. I've always had that issue. You should see my old report cards. It isn't that I don't respect authority. I just give respect when it is due. The one thing I have learned in life is you get respect when you give it. We are all the same, wanting the same things and feeling the same pains.

Seeing the mug shots from 1972 has jogged my memory. On more than one occassion in the late 1970's I was actually mistaken for George Carlin. (Isn't that what we all looked like back then?) His influence on me is beyond measure and as the day has passed and I've had time to digest it, it's beginning to sink in that he's gone. To this day I "get in the plane with pilot and crew, they seem to know where to sit!"

KB i got straight "A's" in school. Last year, senior yr of HS, my grades plummeted. I use to skip out and i just wanted to get it over with. I got my diploma and went to college. I didn't fit in spiritually. Teachers liked me but i was working full time job and gave up. I've been blessed to work 22yrs as a maintenance wrkr since then.

I used to be a "Judgmental Narrow-Minded Christian" and i was miserable. At age of 31, me and my older sister and brother decided to go on a spiritual journey for 365 days....we reprogrammed our minds and dropped our old belief system in religion.

Now our blessings are over-flowing!!!!!!!!!!!

Fox6fan, my friend, you also seem to have experienced the pain that ages a soul.

A young heart with an old soul

A young heart with an old soul
How can there be peace
How can i be in the depths of solitude
When there are two inside of me
This duo within me causes
the perfect oppurtunity
to learn and live twice as fast
As those who accept simplicity

Being at one with the universe is way better than being alone in a group.

Remember always that you are just a visitor here, a traveler passing through. your stay is but short and the moment of your departure unknown.
None can live without toil and a craft that provides your needs is a blessing indeed. But if you toil without rest, fatigue and wearness will overtake you, and you will denied the joy that comes from labour's end.
Speak quietly and kindly and be not forward with either opinions or advice. If you talk much, this will make you deaf to what others say, and you should know that there are few so wise that they cannot learn from others.
Be near when help is needed, but far when praise and thanks are being offered.
Take small account of might, wealth and fame, for they soon pass and are forgotten. Instead, nurture love within you and and strive to be a friend to all. Truly, compassion is a balm for many wounds.
Treasure silence when you find it, and while being mindful of your duties, set time aside, to be alone with yourself.
Cast off pretense and self-deception and see yourself as you really are.
Despite all appearances, no one is really evil. They are led astray by ignorance. If you ponder this truth always you will offer more light, rather then blame and condemnation.
You, no less than all beings have Buddha Nature within. Your essential Mind is pure. Therefore, when defilements cause you to stumble and fall, let not remose nor dark foreboding cast you down. Be of good cheer and with this understanding, summon strength and walk on.
Faith is like a lam

Faith is like a lamp and wisdom makes the flame burn bright. Carry this lamp always and in good time the darkness will yield and you will abide in the Light.

I have no idea what that gobbledegook is in the original blog. But I cannot idolize a man who spook dirty words during a family show just to be obstinate.

Beautiful words by Tupac and by GC too!lol

Words in and of itself are just symbols, utterences...that is all.....they are meaningless.....they have no real meaning....until we MAKE them "REAL"....until we give them power over us ......then they have a "meaning"

No one can be offended by them. Unless you choose to be offended or "victimized".

You are always at choice as an individual.

You either choose to BE offended or you choose to NOT be offended.

CHOOSE. ---thanks KB, nice blog iffy
