“My friends, I will have an energy policy which will eliminate our dependence on oil from Middle East that will then prevent us from having ever to send our young men and women into conflict again in the Middle East.”

-- John McCain; 5/1/08

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."

Ifi, you are pitiful in your "proof"! These little snippits are not proof, they are justification of your lack of knowledge! And lack of common sense!

Common sense, drill in Anwar and the Pacific coast and the gulf of Mexico and the atlantic ocean. Please prove me wrong, ooh great one!

McCain is the easiest thing we (as conservatives) can throw at you, and this is all you can throw back? More proof!

Mr. Ifi, so sorry, my intent is not to ire, but to explore the liberal, academia mind. We, of the the biz, tax paying, nontaxsucking mind want to know what is going on in your head.
You think it is OK to rake billions of dollars for education. Believe me, things in Milwaukee aren't that great.

Uh, Im confused Mr. Bill... when you say conservative, are you referring to McCain or Bush... or do you mean to say 'we (as republicans)'? I would hardly put conservatives and republicans in the same sentence these days, nor would I put John McCain in the same sentence as conservative, unless with the word NOT. Republicans are no more conservative than most Dems these days.

Mr. Ifilus, you made quite a convincing case in a previous blog (YOUR OWN) that in fact, it was clear that oil had nothing to do with Iraq. Additionally, we have debated this issue at great length, and it seems military action in Iraq was action driven by UN resolution?!

Try intellectual consistency. It won't hurt....really!

adoseoftruth,
I'm sorry but you said the word, "intellectual" and you were talking to Ifilus?
Must be a newbie who hasn't read much of Ifilus' bolgs.
This guy just LOVES to start controversies. Then he sees that he has a lot of #'s by the comments which must make him tickled pink!
Here let me fix what he wrote:
"Mr. President can I help burp you!"
--John McCain; 5/1/08
"I'm out of the closet and holding my 'Buddy's' hand."
G.W. Bush, 3/13/02
BTW Did anyone notice the dates?

Mr. DiamondBuyer,

You have ALONE made this blog worth reading!

Not much for the wingnuts to argue here -- as the majority of the comments so far would suggest.

All the blog above consists of are two well-documented quotes and two photographs -- which clearly speak for themselves.

adoseoftruth: "intellectual consistency"?

First, I have never stated that "oil had nothing to do with" the US invasion of Iraq.

Additionally, YOU (alone) cling to the fiction that "military action in Iraq was action driven by UN resolution".

Here's a personal invite for you Mr. Ifilus: Why don't you read through my extensive blog on Economics and show how me how "alone" I am in my understanding of economic concepts.

Also, what's up with the new pic? Have I im my short time as a blogger put a few years on you???? And what's up with the Cigarette??? You are at least consistent with that.

if its not about oil... why did this administration have to change the reason for invading Iraq.... six times?

Why did Cheney meet with HIS friends in the Oil Business... in secret... along with DOD officers... and STILL refuses to disclose details... even to the Congressional subcommittee? (GOP sure wanted disclosure of Clinton's infidelity... but not an illegal meeting regarding the future of the world's resources) check it out

Why did they write the Iraqi constitutional amendment giving US oil companies control of Iraqi resources and translate it into (by writing this they got Iraq out of OPEC... because it no longer owns its own oil) check it out

What was the net goal of the Baker-Hamilton Proposal? take the nationalized oil system formerly operating in Iraq... splitting it into three regions and giving control of the oil-rich section to a council run by western oil companies.

Why did they have this war planned prior to 9/11? And why did they secure the oil fields and not the natural/cultural and human historical sites in this, the oldest land of humankind? check it out

Why did they delete 5 million emails effectively eliminating any chance for finding proof of a pre-war strategy? click here

Why did they create a secret propaganda campaign of generals who posed as 'independent consultants' who appeared on every media outlet feeding America DOD talking points. check it out
(the misinformation they later chalked up to poor communication between agencies- remember the reason for revamping all the intelligence infrastructure in the US?) while we were told the US "got it all wrong"... were were being fed a load of propaganda

So from before the war up to last week when the NYTimes cover story broke... all the generals talking about reasons for war and the surge and the "success" were all lying (and coincidentally since the story broke... the war-profiteering puppet media has been silent... liberal my arse) check it out

Not for oil? Please oh great FOX6Blog luminaries... Steve, Dose.... what was it for then??? Not AlQaeda, not Saddam, not WMDs, not Democracy, not stability, not cuz we care for their people.... please enlighten we "pitiful" unbelievers. why?

Ifilus -- I just have one question and PLEASE respond! Im very curious what You do for a living?? I only ask because You seem very angry and im wondering if You ARE a lawyer?
(im asking with respect - no sarcasim intended - you know what they say "curiousity killed the cat") Im one VERY DEAD CAT on this one!!

Tony...people who are angry feel that way because they understand what's really happening and don't feel like being ostriches any longer. We are sick of our soldiers dying for oil and control of the Middle East. We are sick of being raped by the corporations while people are starving, losing their homes and feeling helpless. We are sick of lies, propaganda and lame excuses.
Those of us who see what's really happening fear for the future. There are way too many facts that point towards us being the bad guys this time. Hundreds of thousands of innocent people are dying. Colby just pointed you to reading material that should help open your eyes. Just living the la-la life isn't good enough. Clinton may have gotten his jollies in the Oval Office but that didn't hurt anyone. Bush is killing hundreds of thousands for oil and profit. I don't want any part of that and I am an American citizen. I have the right to speak out and so does anyone else that can see the light and isn't blinded by mock patriotism.

I must apologize. I do try very hard to not to be insulting in any way and stick to issues and factual information, and I can see how in an attempt to "make/poke a little fun" of Mr. Ifilis, I may have crossed my own line. So for that I AM SORRY.

And I would further add related to UN resolution 1441, although it is the International justification used by the Bush Administration and coalition forces to act in addition to specific acts of Congress, there are those who dispute that the resolution granted the authority to indiviual nation states to act.

Fair enough??
