I feel like I could have been killed. The truth is - there wasn't even an accident.

Have you ever seen the commercials for Bell Ambulance? Doesn't it say, "in a life threatening emergency, dial 911."? My question is...does that mean they are not transporting life and death patients?

The reason I bring any of this up is because I was driving on Sunday and a Bell Ambulance was driving with it's lights on, but no siren. I was going east with a green light and the ambulance was going south. My boyfriend saw the lights before me and panicked, which in turn panicked me. I saw the lights - slammed on by brakes - THEN the driver turned the siren on.  I never entered the intersection, but I feel like if my boyfriend wouldn't have seen the lights first, I would have stopped later and the ambulance would have hit me, he did not even slow down for the intersection.

Anyway, I was wondering what you all know about ambulances, and what the rights and responsibilties of the ambulance drivers are?

If you are lucky enough to not have to drive anywhere near 60th and Greenfield Avenue, good for you. I am not that lucky. For some reason the road is closed on Greenfield between 60th and National Ave. I don't know why except there is a new Walgreens going in and there is demolition going on. But closing the road??? Maybe they are redoing the road, but I really don't think so. The traffic is really terrible around rush hour, people going north on 60th that would normally turn left on to Greenfield now have to go to National and there is no left turn lane (or signal) and traffic gets really, really backed up.

What is going on West Allis???

Yesterday morning I heard about the Miller truck and the beer spill. Then I went to work. After work I picked up my daughter from school and went to take her out to her Dad's. I hadn't heard anything more and figured they had the beer cleaned up or if not the freeway would still be closed and I would take the detour. I did not expect it to take over an hour to get 8 miles on the freeway. It was TERRIBLE!! There were cars overheating left and right, a motorcycle that ran out of gas, A Dad with a screaming baby in the back seat. At one point I thought there was an accident since two sheriffs passed traffic with their lights on, but when I got up to where they were they were just sitting in the median doing nothing.

I think it a huge waste of beer and obviously accidents happen but I can't help but feeling like I am owed something, I don't expect to be reimbursed for the gas that was wasted sitting in traffic, must less compensation for the wear and tear on my vehicle, but dang...a beer would be nice!
