I have had the same doctor for the last 5 years.  I met him after "getting" him once when I didn't really have a regular doctor. Shortly after that, he opened his own clinic and I followed him.  I was pregnant at the time and wanted my child to have one doctor that she could grow up with.

I haven't been to the doctor for over a year and March 22nd made an appointment for today at 1:45.  My problem is...I received a phone call at 8:50 this morning from the doctor's office telling me they no longer take my insurance.

My insurance requires me to choose a Primary Care Physician, so I am mostly mad at them, it only makes sense that they would inform me if my doctor is no longer participating in the plan.

I am concerned about "quality" of health care when you aren't allowed (unless you want to pay out of pocket) to maintain a relationship for any period of time.  I have had multiple doctors throughout my life because either the doctor moved to a clinic I couldn't use or I changed jobs and got a different plan, but this is the first time a doctor's office stopped accepting my plan.

Finding a new doctor is scary...

I don't recall the last time I've seen doctor.

Then again, I've been dead for over 20 years.
