You all know I don’t talk Sports much, but in watching that plane take off knowing he has been scorned by the Team that was to “welcome him home” with that kind of reception, not being allowed to go into the locker room, I think Brett had every right to ask mike and the rest of them the same question they asked him “Are you 100% committed to me/us?”

I will still back the packers, but I think fans that are screaming at the organization need only to tone it down, watch and see what happens, I agree with what I heard earlier today, if the Packers organization have sooo much faith in Aaron Rogers then let Brett go to the Vikings or the Bears, AR should be able to handle it, if not then obviously someone made a mistake, and it wasn’t Brett or Aaron.

Personally I would cheer for the Packers more if they as an organization would just admit they didn’t want Brett. To Heck with all those accolades from the sports fans, in the form of money for all that packer gear. Question for you persons in charge of the Packers legacy, Do you know how much money that mere MVP QB has put in your pockets?

The Packer organization has built a new stadium on the legacy of this team, they have been a force to deal with for years, many of them we were the underdog to be dealt with, no team in or out of our league wanted to come against us because they never knew what to expect. The Packers are a small time team, the difference has always been the fans, and we have backed them through thick and thin.

I agree we haven’t had the best of teams all the time but we did have a better chance with Brett as our QB. Why would this team do this? It makes absolutely no good business sense, and with the impending trade I wish Brett the best of luck, and thanks for all the good times.

I pray that Aaron Rogers can manage to stay healthy.. Since we as a team have absolutely no back up plan, Forward looking.. I think NOT, Ted Thompson needs to remember that old adage, without understanding and knowledge of the past we are doomed to repeat it.

 Welcome in the Lean Times to the Green Bay Packers again, that very well could be the Headlines of the Wisconsin Newpapers in the coming years.

I have been doing more digging into Lifelock as a company, trying to find any reason to be able to sleep at night knowing that they are under the scrutiny of class action lawsuits. In doing my digging I have found more reasons to question not only the validity of their claims, but to question why honest businesses would promote this company.

Reason I have found most of the time is money, Lifelock has sponsored races in NASCAR, drivers in NHRA, as well as even in our backyard having banks get in bed with them, they sponsor advertising and  in essence this is not a bad thing, in fact it’s the American way for businesses.

The question that goes through my head is; if a business promotes another business or service, would the business be culpable if the company that you promote is found to be misleading?

Read the following links and see if you would get into business with them;

Phoenix New Times article about Lifelock from May 2007

Lawsuit accuses LifeLock of deception from Arizona Republic March 2008

Attorney Leonard Aragon: Going after LifeLock from Lawyers&Settlements.com April 7 2008

And the best one I found for consumers here in Wisconsin has this paragraph in it;

Debit card incident

Beyond the charges leveled in the complaints, lead counsel Paris related the story of a Wisconsin consumer who contacted the firm regarding her accidental experience with LifeLock.

"Her debit card was stolen and the thief had the audacity to use the card to buy a subscription to LifeLock," he noted. "Most disturbingly, LifeLock issued the subscription to the thief in the thief's name, clearly failing to verify the appropriate information."

Full article from Consumeraffairs.com from May 13, 2008

I have tried to find out why there has been such a frenzy for signing up for this service, and the best I can come up with is: they are really good PR guys. The VP of Communications is the only person I have been able to find in the company that is a “Certified Identity Theft Management Specialist” (CITRMS). Todd Davis has nothing in any way being certified to offer identity theft protection. As most of you are aware if you have visited my website there are 5 areas of identity theft, of which Credit is only a percentage.

By the way they claim to be the FIRST Company to do this WRONG Lifelock has been in business since 2005, there is one business that has been around for 30 years, reason the company is not all over the TV and internet with false claims: they are highly regulated.

Here in Wisconsin, namely Milwaukee we have one person on the South Side that is selling "International Drivers Licenses" .

I know that there are persons being scammed by this guy, and really what about the laws regarding “shady business practices”? How can this guy practice unimpeded by law enforcement? I am all for the start up businesses and the entrepreneurial spirit but to take advantage of persons when they are already possibly having problems with the law with being illegal aliens; it has been reported that Credenciales USA is providing these ID’s to persons that may not otherwise be eligible for identification yet he stated in the Fox 6 interview that he is NOT doing that, why then are the South Side Coalition against him? Why has Voces run a front page article about this not being legitimate?

Another story regarding Identity Theft Protection; in recent weeks more customers of Lifelock are fighting back against misleading statements made by the company as well as Their $1 million guarantee that is not paid to the customer.

It is amazing to me that in this day and age that a company can and does basically scam the common man, and we have businesses here in Wisconsin that help them by promoting Lifelock I wonder if that means that they are endorsing Lifelock business practices?

I know that an individual can perform the same thing as Lifelock, and they are “promoting” a service much like taking your car in for an oil change, you CAN do it yourself but don’t want the hassles.

Realistically you as well as I have to read the fine print, what can any business do for you that you can not do yourself? What is more feasible for your life?

I have spoken to the attorney leading the Class Action Law suites against Lifelock, and he has approved my giving his information out to potential victims/subscribers to Lifelock for possibly starting a class action suit in Wisconsin.  This firm is not in any way associated with Pre-Paid Legal, I am just trying to help persons that feel they need the information.  http://www.lifelockclassaction.com/

As I am sure you are aware I have been working to help businesses when it comes to the regulations from the Federal Trade Commission.

There is a new Alert out for businesses in this regard, you as an employee should also be aware of this information since your identities are the ones that are at potential risk if your employer has a data breach.

The FTC Business Alert covers who needs to be looking at compliance with these new regulations.

As always if you need help you can go to this link and we will get you in touch with someone from your area to help with understanding these new rules.

The latest on how our government doesn’t protect the information that they have.

Wonder what will change when it comes time for the Red Flag Rule to go into effect November 1st.

Social Security Administration lists live people in the Death Master File

Date Reported:
6/26/08

Organization:
U.S. Government

Contractor/Consultant/Branch:
Social Security Administration

Victims:
United States citizens

Number Affected:
"more than 20,000"

Types of Data:
Name, date of birth and Social Security number

Breach Description:
"The Social Security Administration inadvertently compromised the personal information of more than 20,000 people by listing them in the Death Master File (DMF) while they were still alive"

Reference URL:
FederalComputerWeek

Report Credit:
Michael Hardy, FederalComputerWeek

Response:
From the online source cited above:

The Social Security Administration inadvertently compromised the personal information of more than 20,000 people by listing them in the Death Master File (DMF) while they were still alive, the agency's inspector general has determined.
[Evan] "The DMF is a publicly available database maintained by SSA that contains detailed information on more than 82 million deceased number holders. Each year, SSA receives death reports for more than 2.5 million individuals and adds the information to the DMF. " (Source: SSA Inspector General AUDIT REPORT A-06-07-27156).  This breach was not the result of single occurrence, but instead is a result of errors in current process.

The IG's analysis dates to January 2004.

Since then, SSA has made the live people's Social Security number, full name, date of birth, and state and ZIP code of last known residence available to users of the database
[Evan] The organization that distributes and manages the "system" cannot secure the information.  Is this is just another case that proves that the "system" is busted?

After learning that those people were not deceased, SSA deleted the information

The IG's investigators found some instances where the personal information was available for free viewing on the Internet

SSA provides the data to the Commerce Department's National Technical Information Service (NTIS), which in turn sells it to customers.
[Evan] Selling a dead man's (or woman's) information doesn't seem right to me.  Do you see anything wrong with it?

Customers include the government, investigative businesses, financial and credit reporting firms, and genealogy researchers.

Some, including prominent genealogy Web sites, post some or all of the information online for their users.

To prevent a repeat of the situation, the IG's recommendations include:

·         Implementing a risk-based approach for distribution of DMF information. One suggestion: Have NTIS delay release of updates to public customers for one year to give SSA ample time to correct erroneous entry’s.

·         Limiting information included in the data sold to public customers.

·         Starting required breach notification evaluation procedures.

·         Providing appropriate notification to living individuals whose information was released in error.

In response to the IG's report, SSA said limiting the personal information might be difficult, but it would consider doing so.
[Evan] There are many practices to secure information that "might be difficult", but this is not a good excuse.  Life "might be difficult", so what?

The agency agreed with the other recommendations.

Commentary:
The use of Social Security numbers as personal identifiers as well as authenticators seems to be a very significant contributing factor to the identity theft mess we face today.  So how did Social Security numbers become so important in the first place?  Read the "Social Security Number Chronology" on the Social Security Administration web site for some clues.

To my knowledge, the victims in this breach have not been (nor will they be) notified.

Good Morning everyone,

I found a news story this morning, and like most people I thought it was a sham, but after looking into this I found it was just the opposite. Wish I knew about this back when the pump was showing less than $4/ gal. but at the rate this is going I figure that it couldnt hurt to look into it now and possibly save a little money.

After seeing the report that the man that was employed with a local company hit and KILLED a small child I am again saying that if the laws were enforced then things like this wouldnt be happening.

What will happen to the company that employed him? he didnt have a license to be driving that truck, so why was he behind the wheel? and being paid, he couldnt have been using his own social security number cause he is ILLEGAL!!

I found this news story :

http://www.gopusa.com/theloft/?p=729

Why are the powers that be not doing anything? we have had raids north in Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, and other areas of this state, yet we are "targetting" the people that just want to work... Maybe if WI had laws on its books that would go after the companies that employ these illegals, maybe that little girl would still be here.

There are legal ways to come to this country, and for every one of those persons here illegal, LEAVE, we dont need anymore id theft, which is NOT a victimless crime, our Teenagers could get summer and after school jobs like we had growning up. We as a society can no longer afford to have you get free health care, or free schooling for your children that were conceived in your home country, but born here.

Gov. Doyle are you listening? the WI population needs some leadership, we need laws enforced, and if it is a major employer coming to our communities, fine but they need to hire the legal residents of this state, not the illegals that will work for less wages, that does virtually no good for the WI economy, since their wages for the most part go back to Mexico.

I was pleasantly surprised to see in the upcoming news story being on Fox 6 tonight at 9 as to if businesses are checking to see if you match your signature when you use a credit card.

As you all know I work with associates that help victims as well as businesses with the crisis in the US as well as Wisconsin for the compliance and all aspects of this epidemic.

More surprising is a story on CNBC tonight as well for a case of ID theft, AMERICAN GREED will show how this happened and the people tracking them down.

I have tried in my best ways to make sure you are all aware that ID theft is out there, and the state of WI seems to be in the business of helping them with the mass printing of Social Security numbers on USPS mail.

If you have questions on how to protect yourself, your business or just purely want information feel free to visit my website, dbinracine site  feel free to add comments to the blog, all the pictures will take you to different sites that discuss the facts with the time critical matters that businesses need to face as well as what you as citizens can do to protect yourself.

Mind you the website is new (1week old) and there is little to no text on it, except to email me directly, but I am in my own way trying to help my fellow man with the information to protect themselves as well as their identities.

Please understand I don’t know what the report on Fox 6 will say tonight, but I guess it wont be good considering my own experiences with retailers.

If you have a clerk not ask to see ID, even if you swipe the card yourself they are still to ask to see the card and compare the signature on the card, if you have SEE ID on your card they need to ask for another form. IF it doesn’t happen then ask to speak to a manager, make the event known to them, that clerk needs to be re-trained.

Personally I feel they are the front line for YOUR defense and they need to make sure you are the person that has that card, in your name.

Funny thing I had my bank call me cause I had signed an electronic pad with “Minnie mouse” (we don’t carry any similarity) and the clerk let it pass, the bank called and asked if I had done that on purpose, and I explained that I did, and the reasons behind it, they asked that I NOT do that again. I guess it messed with their system.

It is your right to hold them accountable for your information as well as your identity. I am sure the persons that have had their purses and wallets stolen would have appreciated the retailers checking the ID of the thieves before the purchases were made.

It will safeguard them as well since they will be out the money and the merchandise, since your bank or cc company can and do reverse charges for fraudulent use. If only they can get their clerks to do the correct and lawful thing.

 Identity theft topped a list of consumer fraud complaints filed last year with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

"For the seventh year in a row, identity theft is the number one consumer complaint category," the report said.

"Of 813,899 total complaints received in 2007, 258,427, or 32 percent, were related to identity theft," it said.

Identity theft most often took the form of credit card fraud, which was involved in nearly one quarter of complaints, the report showed.

Where complainants reported how they had come into contact with the fraudsters, 64 percent said the Internet served as the initial meeting point.

Forty-nine percent of fraudsters used email to contact their eventual prey and 15 percent used the web, the report showed.

Americans lost more than 1.2 billion dollars (around 900 million euros) last year to fraudsters, the report said.

Since 1997, when the FTC began compiling the consumer fraud complaints report using data from its Consumer Sentinel database, it has logged 4.3 million complaints.

I will copy a portion of a recent (2/12/08) White paper that summarizing what ICE is about and what they intend to do in the coming months.

Lost in that sporadic and scattered media attention is the fact that ICE’s tactics reflect an extraordinary shift in strategy. No longer are those who enforce U.S. immigration laws content, as the INS was, to have administrative judges impose slap-on-the-wrist fines and send illegal immigrants home. Instead, they have prosecuted a surprisingly high number of company owners, managers, human resources personnel and others in federal court, imposed heavy fines, seized property and bank accounts, and even sent people to prison for immigration-related charges.

This review provides a comprehensive analysis of ICE’s 2007 worksite enforcement activities to underscore why business owners and executives must make immigration compliance a priority in 2008. In studying this report, employers may be able to identify vulnerability points in their organizations and take steps to reduce the potential for an ICE investigation or audit.

For employers, it’s important to realize, among other things, how 2007 was different from 2006, as ICE has shown an ability to adapt and change in its efforts to aggressively curtail illegal employment. Faced with criticism, lawsuits and, in some cases, the reluctance on behalf of federal prosecutors, the agency has steered away from high-profile, multi-site raids, targeting a substantial number of small and medium-sized employers, such as restaurants, construction companies and manufacturing plants.

Today interagency cooperation is the norm, not the exception. It’s not uncommon for a half dozen or more local, state and federal agencies to work together on an investigation—the Social Security Administration, state wage and labor investigators, postal service investigators, the U.S. Department of Labor and others. In some cases, state and local law enforcement agencies, sometimes—but not always—trained by ICE, have taken the lead in investigating alleged violations. This trend is almost certain to grow in the next few years, as numerous states follow the lead of Arizona, Colorado and others, enacting immigration laws and policies of their own.

Meanwhile, ICE has expanded its geographic reach, targeting businesses in parts of the country, from upstate New York to South Dakota and dozens of other locations that had seen little worksite enforcement activity in the past 20 years. The agency has similarly reached deeper into businesses that hire illegal aliens, prosecuting not only owners but managers, human resources personnel, a union steward and others who help illegal aliens get work; in one Missouri case, a federal grand jury indicted a receptionist. Much as prosecutors routinely seize the assets and profits from drug dealing, they have begun targeting assets and cash profits tied to the employment of illegal workers. Severe penalties have been imposed for employing a small number of people: One Ohio employer lost his home, valued at $770,000, for employing four aliens. Even individual workers are sometimes going to prison, in part because of the realization that even the simplest type of identity theft—using someone else’s Social Security number to get a job—is not a victimless crime.

To accomplish such goals, ICE and prosecutors are dusting off long-unused laws to charge individuals with crimes associated with illegal employment. This shift in policy, with no change in the underlying laws, has been the most significant development in immigration enforcement since the passage of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA), when employer sanctions and the I-9 form first came into effect.

With comprehensive immigration reform all but dead in Congress, 2008 likely promises more of the same, perhaps with some shifts in tactics. Some critics, for example, have called for ICE to focus more on the individuals and syndicates that traffic in fake documents and stolen identities; those who transport, house or otherwise aid illegal aliens; criminals and fugitive; aliens who steal citizens’ or legal residents’ identities; and employers who exploit workers. Regardless what the government ultimately decides is the fairest or most effective way to combat illegal immigration, the fact is that worksite enforcement is here to stay, in one form or another. New immigration legislation won’t change that. Even the most amnesty-oriented immigration bill will require a foundation of strong enforcement if it is to have any hope of being signed by our next president, either Democrat or Republican.

In the last two years the government’s enforcement efforts have succeeded in driving home the point that employers ignore immigration law at their peril. For 2008, especially in highly targeted industries, employers need to be proactive and make immigration compliance a high priority. Preferably before ICE arrives at the door.

Well worth the read through!!

Check it all out!

It's a crock of BS to listen to someone telling us how much all the aliens contribute to the economy!?! !?! ?!?

Please take the time to read this and send it on.

Tina Griego, journalist for the Denver Rocky Mountain News wrote a column titled, 'Mexican Visitor's Lament' -- 10/25/07.

She interviewed Mexican journalist Evangelina Hernandez while visiting Denver last week. Hernandez said, 'They (illegal aliens) pay rent, buy groceries, buy clothes... What Happens to your country's economy if 20 million people go away?' That's a good question - it deserves an answer. Over 80 percent of Americans demand secured borders and illegal immigration stopped. But what would happen if all 20 million or more vacated America?

The answers may surprise you!

In California, if 3.5 million illegal aliens moved back to Mexico, it would leave an extra $10.2 billion to spend on overloaded school systems, bankrupt hospitals and overrun prisons. It would leave highways cleaner, safer and less congested. Everyone could understand one another as English became the dominant language again.

In Colorado, 500,000 illegal migrants, plus their 300,000 kids and grand-kids - would move back 'home', mostly to Mexico. That would save Coloradans an estimated $2 billion (other experts say $7 billion) annually in taxes that pay for schooling, medical, social-services and incarceration costs. It means 12,000 gang members would vanish out of Denver alone.

Colorado would save more than $20 million in prison costs, and the terror that those 7,300 alien criminals set upon local citizens. Denver Officer Don Young and hundreds of Colorado victims would not have suffered death, accidents, rapes and other crimes by illegals.

Denver Public Schools would not suffer a 67 percent drop-out/flunk-out rate because of thousands of illegal alien students
speaking 41 different languages. At least 200,000 vehicles would vanish from our gridlocked cities in Colorado.

Denver's four percent unemployment rate would vanish as our working poor would gain jobs at a living wage.

In Florida, 1.5 million illegal’s would return the Sunshine State back to America, the rule of law, and English.

In Chicago, Illinois, 2.1 million illegal’s would free up hospitals, schools, prisons and highways for a safer, cleaner and more crime-free experience.

If 20 million illegal aliens returned 'home' --

If 20 million illegal aliens returned 'home', the U.S. Economy would return to the rule of law Employers would hire legal American citizens at a living wage. Everyone would pay their fair share of taxes because they wouldn't be working off the books. That would result in an additional $401 Billion in IRS income taxes collected annually, and an equal amount for
local, state and city coffers.

No more push '1' for Spanish or '2' for English. No more confusion in American schools that now must contend with over 100 languages that degrade the educational system for American kids. Our overcrowded schools
would lose more than two million illegal alien kids at a cost of billions in ESL and free breakfasts and lunches.

We would lose 500,000 illegal criminal alien inmates at a cost of more than $1.6 billion annually. That includes 15,000 MS-13 gang members who distribute $130 billion in drugs annually would vacate our country.

In cities like LA., 20,000 members of the '18th Street Gang' would vanish from our nation. No more Mexican forgery gangs for ID theft from Americans! No more foreign rapists and child molesters!

Losing more than 20 million people would clear up our crowded highways and gridlock. Cleaner air and less drinking and driving American deaths by illegal aliens!

America's economy is drained. Taxpayers are harmed. Employers get rich. Over $80 billion annually wouldn't return to the aliens' home countries by cash transfers. Illegal migrants earned half that money untaxed, which further drains America's economy - which currently suffers an $8.7 trillion debt.

At least 400,000 anchor babies would not be born in our country, costing us $109 billion per year per cycle. At least 86 hospitals in California, Georgia and Florida would still be operating instead of being bankrupt out of existence because illegal’s pay nothing via the EMTOLA Act.

Americans wouldn't suffer thousands of TB and hepatitis cases rampant in our country-brought in by illegal’s unscreened at our borders.

Our cities would see 20 million less people driving, polluting and grid locking our cities. It would also put the 'progressives' on the horns of a dilemma; illegal aliens and their families cause 11 percent of our greenhouse gases.

Over one million of Mexico's poorest citizens now live inside and along our border from Brownsville, Texas to San Diego, California in what  the New York Times called, 'colonias' or new neighborhoods. Trouble is, those living areas resemble Bombay and Calcutta where grinding poverty, filth, diseases, drugs, crimes, no sanitation and worse. They live without
sewage, clean water, streets, electricity, roads or any kind of sanitation. The New York Times reported them to be America's new 'Third World' inside our own country. Within 20 years, at their current growth rate, they expect 20 million residents of those colonias. (I've seen them personally in Texas and Arizona; it's sickening beyond anything you can imagine.) By enforcing our laws, we could repatriate them back to Mexico.

We should invite 20 million aliens to go home, fix their own countries and/or make a better life in Mexico. We already invite a million people into our country legally more than all other countries combined annually. We cannot and must not al low anarchy at our borders, more anarchy within our borders and growing lawlessness at every level in our nation.

It's time to stand up for our country, our culture, our civilization and our way of life.

Interesting Statistics.

Here are 14 reasons illegal aliens should vacate America, and I hope they are forwarded over and over again until they
are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them:

1. $11 billion to $22 billion dollars are spent each year on welfare to illegal aliens. http://tinyurl.com/zob77

10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their
children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0606/12/ldt.01.
html

11. During the year 2005, there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our southern border with as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from  terrorist countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroine, and marijuana crossed into the U.S. from the southern border. http://tinyurl.com/t9sht

12. The National Policy Institute, estimates that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion, or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period.

 http://www.nationalpolicyinstitute.org/publications.p
hp?b=deportation

13. In 2006, illegal aliens sent home $45 BILLION in remittances back to their countries of origin. http://www.rense.com/general75/niht.htm

14. The dark side of illegal immigration: Nearly one million sex crimes are committed by illegal immigrants in the United States!'
http://www.drdsk.com/articleshtml

The total cost is a whopping $338.3 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR!!!

I can tell you from the days when I worked at Pitstop that Jiffy Lube has had problems for years, if they (whoever is working on your car) says you can not watch or see the old parts you are running the risk of a scam, the funny thing about the transmission fluid change unit is, it lights up, shows that light can filter through the new fluid, and how black the old fluid is, it was designed to make sure that persons/customers could see it being done.

 Watch this video and see how easy the scam could happen. This notice is to women as well, I know I had more than one woman that told me she knew NOTHING about the car, dont be a fool, make them accountable for the work they perform, this goes for any garage, I am had a dealership I had used since my car was new (in madison) they wanted $560 to change a thermostat, they also told me the thermostat was "under" the car, I looked it wasnt, I went to a parts store, paid $5.60 changed the thermostat on my lunch hour from the law office. All because I am a woman, yes I called the manager and told them exactly what the service tech told me. AND promised I would never be back to them for service.

Jiffy Lube caught on tape!

Check out this link. View the VIDEO. It is REAL!!!

Send it to everyone you know who owns a car.

Below is an email I just recieved having to do with those rebate checks that you and I are expecting to get yeah right. Read this closely, follow the links, as well call your SENATORS tell them NOT TO BACK THIS.

 It's good to help our legal tax paying members of our society - but - give our hard earned tax dollars away to people with no or fake social security numbers?????  We called our 2 senators  and let our position be known - hope you will take time to call also.  Contact info for them is listed below.

Here's a link to Fox News' report on this bill:   http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,326346,00.html

I have just learned that the just passed House Stimulus package intended to jump-start a sagging economy by giving citizens rebates, also includes cash benefits for illegal aliens!
Yes, you read that right.
According to FOX News, the plan would benefit those illegal aliens who qualify as "resident aliens" - meaning they have spent a substantial amount of time in the U.S. and have not yet been deported. These so-called "resident aliens" also must have been assigned an Individual Tax Identification Number.
 What?
 Assigning a tax number to an illegal alien in-effect legitimizes their right to be in the U.S! As Rep. Tom Tancredo said to FOX News, the bill will certainly stimulate "more illegal immigration."
Friends, once again this is a slap in the face to citizen taxpayers, and I'm calling on you to take immediate action with me by calling your Senators and demanding rebates to illegal aliens be dropped from this bill.
 If you're in these states, here's your contact information:
WISCONSIN

Sen. Kohl  (202) 224-5653                    >  Sen. Feingold  (202) 224-5323

My note:  If you live in another state, here's link to quickly find your state Senators: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/sena

This bill easily passed through the House (385-35), and it is my hope that our Grassfire team will be able to restore some sense and sensibility as this bill progresses through the Senate.
 But don't delay. Call and express your outrage today, and thank you for taking immediate action with me.

P.S: After calling your Senators, please forward this message on to your taxpaying friends and family members.

I recieved this in the mail this morning and thought that with all the turmoil about our Gov't. and the politics going on of late it would be a rather nice change of pace from the Negative. We may not all agree on what is wrong with our country and how we deal internationally, but after this I think we can all agree for better or worse most the time the United States has the best of intentions towards our fellow many man. This would fit for News or Political, I'll choose news, no offense intended.

Four Great Very Short Stories!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building' by George Bush.
He answered by saying, 'Over the years, the
United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.
It became very quiet in the room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Then there was a conference in
France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break one of the French engineers came back into the room saying 'Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done?  He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb them?'

A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: 'Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck.. We have eleven such ships; how many does
France have?'

Once again, dead silence.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the
U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French Admiral suddenly complained that, 'whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.' He then asked, 'Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?'
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied 'Maybe it's because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German.'
You could have heard a pin drop
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE...

A group of Americans, retired teachers, recently went to
France on a tour. Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane.

At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on. "You have been to
France before, monsieur?" the Customs Officer asked sarcastically.

Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to
France previously.

"Then you should know enough to have your passport ready."

The American said, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."

"Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in
France!"

The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained. "Well, when I came ashore at
Omaha Beach on D-Day in '44 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find any damn Frenchmen to show it to."
