I don't know who will ever read this, or for that matter, who will really care but I think it was one of the darkest days in Wisconsin sports history when we lost Brett Favre.  I know that there are a multitude of opinions out there and I truly respect that people have the right to their opinions.  This is just mine.

I don't understand how someone who has given so much to the Packers, right down to the very core of his soul, could be dejected by this team.  Even if we look at this as a basic business - - you do what is best for the business.  From the perspective of a sports team, the things that are best for this business are the things that will make them winners and champions.  How in the world would we deject someone with a solid and proven track record for someone who has not yet proven himself (not to mention throwing 9 straight incomplete passes in Family night - - hmmm?)

As a special message to Brett, though he will never read this, I want you to know that I will always be a solid fan of yours and despite my loyalties to my local team, I will root for the Jets just as hard.  Wouldn't it be interesting if the Packers and the Jets ended up opponents in the Superbowl?  While I can certainly see that as a very viable possibilty for the Jets, I do not see that happening for my dear Packers.  I will really miss you Brett and I wish you as many years of successful football playing as your heart and body tell you to play.

Good bye to one of the GREATEST sports figures Wisconsin ever had.

Go Jets! I love Brett and feel the same way you do. TT is an idiot as well as all the management for the Packers...right now I look at it this way I have all this free time to do things instead of watching football. Brett made you want to watch he loves the game and is awesome don't care what anyone says about him.

I'm old enough to remember that Vince Lombardi left Green Bay also - granted it was his choice to go to the Redskins. Somehow the Packers and the NFL managed to carry on - I think the Packers and the NFL will survive Brett "shucks - I'm just a dumb old country boy" Favre leaving Green Bay too. Gale Sayers got cut by the Bears - they somehow are still in operation, John Elway retired and Denver still stands, and Joe Montana (4 Super Bowl wins) played in K.C. after leaving S.F. and the NFL didn't miss a beat. I may be sadly mistaken, but somehow I think the NFL is greater that Brett Favre. Move on.
