duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.the jets are not happening for brett favre, period.the idea of brett favre being a half good QB is not happening.get that in your head and forget about your ego!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are a true Brett Favre Fan, then you will agree that Green Bay has really messed up!!!!!!!! not for one minute can we blame Brett for wanting to play, He is the MOST competitive player, and plays for the love of the game, not the money!!! I believe he was forced to make a RASH decision to retire!!! we all saw his emotions the day he announced it on TV. I will always remember it, because I taped it. I believe Ted Thompson with his alter EGO drove Brett away, he knew what he was doing, after all he was the one who brought Rogers to green bay!!! I was very saddened the Day he retired and it was a very emotional day. I could have accepted that, atleast, he would have remained a Packer! now we have lost him to the Jets!! just makes me sick. TED Thompson, you need to be Evicted from this organization!!!! I hope Brett just kicks some butt, and goes all the way, because we all know Roger's will not prevail!!! to me, the packers just may have lost alot of their loyal fans because of this, and may have a great impact in the future, meaning we won't be the greatest fans anymore!!! plain and simple they trully messed up BIG!!!! You go Brett, your true fans will be cheering you on all the way!!!
I don't know who will ever read this, or for that matter, who will really care but I think it was one of the darkest days in Wisconsin sports history when we lost Brett Favre. I know that there are a multitude of opinions out there and I truly respect that people have the right to their opinions. This is just mine.
I don't understand how someone who has given so much to the Packers, right down to the very core of his soul, could be dejected by this team. Even if we look at this as a basic business - - you do what is best for the business. From the perspective of a sports team, the things that are best for this business are the things that will make them winners and champions. How in the world would we deject someone with a solid and proven track record for someone who has not yet proven himself (not to mention throwing 9 straight incomplete passes in Family night - - hmmm?)
As a special message to Brett, though he will never read this, I want you to know that I will always be a solid fan of yours and despite my loyalties to my local team, I will root for the Jets just as hard. Wouldn't it be interesting if the Packers and the Jets ended up opponents in the Superbowl? While I can certainly see that as a very viable possibilty for the Jets, I do not see that happening for my dear Packers. I will really miss you Brett and I wish you as many years of successful football playing as your heart and body tell you to play.
Good bye to one of the GREATEST sports figures Wisconsin ever had.
For the past week or so all I have heard on local news stations is FAVRE FAVRE FAVRE.
I swear to God: if a dirty bomb was detonated in downtown Milwaukee that news would be preempted to make way for the latest on Brett Favre.
Ted Perry: "We have breaking news from downtown: an apparent terrorist attack has taken place near Wisconsin and Wells streets. Dozens of people have been killed or injured.
But more on that later. Let's go to Tom Pipines for the latest news on Brett Favre's trade to New York..."
Who gives a rat's a** about Favre anymore? Enough is enough!!!!!!!!!!
Enough Already. I was a "Brett Fan" also. Yes, I think the whole situation could have been handled alot better, however, Brett is not totally blameless in this fiasco either. Changing his mind how many times??? And already had in his mind "how hurt I am and can not get past it?" well then Brett why did you bother coming back to Wisconsin this week? To stir things up for a little while longer? COME ON PACKER FANS, WE ARE FROM WISCONSIN, THINGS AND DECISIONS IN LIFE AREN'T ALWAYS FARE, BUT ISN'T IT TIME TO BAND TOGETHER AND NOT PUNISH THE WHOLE TEAM, WHICH I THOUGHT THATS WHAT THE PACKERS WERE, NOT JUST A BRETT GAME!!!! If I remember correctly we all gave Brett a chance to prove himself, and yes, I will just bet those who are complaining, are probably the same ones who were complaining during Bretts interceptions on those sooo important plays!!!!! Its time to show our new quarterback and the whole team our support. Just Because management handled things the way they did, is NO REASON TO PUNISH OUR PACKERS.
jazistar
Brett was pushed to give his "FINAL ANSWER" on retirement before he was ready. Thompson forced a decision out of Favre well before he was ready to say a thing. We all thought he wasn't done so this is no surprise that he did come back. Thompson at the end of last season even stated that he thought Brett would come out of retirement. SO who's whining now?!?! In all reality it is both of them both Brett and Thompson. Brett has every reason to whine as this is his position and he should have had it back. Granted everything said and done is also behind closed doors so we don't know the whole story. We never will!!
Do I personally want Brett back yes I would have loved for him to come back but the decision has been made and he will not return to GB. Now we prepare to see Green Bay suffer because even at the Family night Scrimage game statistics for family night "Rodgers' numbers 7-of-20, 84 yards, 1 interception." That is hardly anything to be proud of.
Brett did not create Green Bay neither did anyone out there right now, Vince Lombardi did. The packers had gone into hiding for a while and then came Brett and he gave his all he gave us everything and he brought us back to the top. So you say we are all whining about Brett well we can we are and we will. He did bring GB to the top he helped build the fan base higher and higher and now that GB is at the top and Brett wants to come back Thompson can't live up to realizing Brett was pushed to make a decision, a quick cut and dry is what they wanted of him and they knew they didn't have it. This all didn't start a month ago it started at the end of last season. People just need to open their eyes and see that.
So will I cheer for Green Bay....I can't honestly say. I may but I will have to see how they do and what the attitudes of people out there are such as Thompson and McCarthy, if they are going to act like they have been with big heads and BLEEPs and try to blame this entirely on Favre then heck no I feel very sorry for the players of Green Bay that they would have to put up with it and I will then NOT cheer for Green Bay. There is yet another hometown QB out there as well that gives back to his community and is an all around good guy....Tony Romo. So I can also easily cheer for him. However, I am a Brett fan and he is a tremendous player if he weren't he would have been traded long ago...he will be a great addition to NY Jets and I am happy to say I will still cheer him on. While it may not be my personal favorite team it could turn into it. Then there is also the fact that when The Pack was not playing I then cheered for Da Bears....I know a bit about the team and it would still be familiar to me (I know that would make several of you oh so happy as well).....so where I stand team wise I honestly do not know, my options are open but either way I love football and will continue to watch...
Saying Brett sucks is you in denial you know he doesn't and this was something that came up due to both parties, no he's not a god but he sure is damn good at football (his job) and can help complete any team and bring them to victory with the help of other players. He gives his all and really if you were downgraded and treated like BLEEP you too would have ill feelings towards people and possibly not be able to get past it...so get over yourself and giving him a hard time. If you feel you need to go for it but give Mike M and Thompson the hard time too because truly they suck just as much as you think Brett sucks.
I am not here to bring on an open discussion of what everyone thinks and if it does than so be it but really I am ready for this to be all over and right now I just needed to get this all out.
I love the game of football and I love to see a team in unison and for the most part they move together Like a great love of your life you complete each other, they compliment each other and they have mild arguments but as we all know sometimes when harsh words are said and things are done we can't move past it. That happened to Brett and the Packers...ultimately the teammates should have made the final decision but they were not given that option....it was chosen for them by people that don't even play the game.
The blame goes to McCarthy, Thompson and Brett for this situation, in reality we may have ill feelings but as we all know there can't really be an argument with just one person...they are all to blame and they all need to take responsibility for their own actions...will they..NO they have all moved on and they will dislike each other always despite what they say. I would love to see Brett help carry the NYJ to a great victory this year just to shove it in Mccarthy and Thompson's face..I wish all teams success but you have to admit it would be the icing on the cake to see NYJ at the top!!!!
i been a die heart packer fan all my life even in the terrible 70's the packers should be ashamed of their self for the way they treated farve but i dont blame farve for feeling the way he does. i was all for giving rodgers a chance but he couldnt even make it last year without getting hurt and he sucked big time at family night and farve should have been able to try out for that number one spot. everyone is sayiing that the team is moving on you know darn well the rest of the packer players cannot give their opinions on how they feel without getting in some kind of trouble!!!!!
TED THOMPSON SHOULD NOT EVEN BE WITH THE PACKERS I DIDNT LIKE HIM FROM THE DAY THEY HIRED HIM HE SPEAKS WITH A FORK TONGUE AND THEN HIDES LIKE A SISSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if the team is owned by the people how come we dont have more say?????
well fans lets get ready for a repeat of the 70's
We can all thank Brett for the memories. We all saw the crazy passes and footwork, unbelievable catches and who can forget the Monday night game after Erv passed away. There sure were a lot of great times and they happened with the Packers. The fans OWN this history and it can't be taken away. Too bad much of this is now overshadowed by all of the controversy. Oh well...this too will pass *no pun intended*.
I bid adieu to our record breaking quarterback and bid welcome to our new quarterback. I wait with baited beer breath for Arron Rodgers to complete impossible passes. I can't wait to see the Packer team pave the way for their new passer. Welcome to a new season...a season of change. The Packers are a history making team and they will continue to make history. Even this controversy is history.
So long, Brett. I hope you can find the same kind of magic you found in Green Bay. I hope the fans can appreciate you the way the Green Bay Packer fans have. I hope the stadium won't empty when you throw a 4th quarter interception. May they stay glued to their seats like the Packer fans have.
I plan to move on and I can't wait for the season to start. The drama is OVER! Maybe I will go shopping today. I just HAVE to find a #12 jersey!
So, New York, eh? These NY Jets, they have pretty good team colors, right?
Could have been much worse. He could have gone to Chicago.
Hey, anyone know if there's a petition out there to get Ted Thompson & co. traded somewhere else...? (Canada, maybe?)
One thing is for sure... this saga is going to make for a very dramatic movie someday.
I can picture Brett Favre practicing that dance right now in Hattiesburg Mississippi getting ready for Broadway ...... Go-Go--Go#4!
