those of you who watched the game today heard about the tragic death of tampa bay buccaneers kicker matt bryant's 3mo old son.  just this week, his son died in his sleep.  he just got back to the team last night to play.  you could see the pain in his eyes when he was out on the field.  our thoughts and prayers go out to his family always and forever.  his son was only 3 months old when he died.  he can always remember to ask god and our lord savior jesus christ for guidance, consolation, and understanding to get him through this tough time in his life.  how many of you watched the game and heard the news of his son's death?  i feel bad for that young family.  that is too bad that he died at such a young age.  i know his heart is breaking, but god can help him through it.

THE "U" IN JESUS

Subject: Fw: Three trees

 

 

Once there were three trees on a hill in the woods. They were discussing their hopes and dreams when the first tree said, "Someday I hope to be a treasure chest so I could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems. I could be decorated with intricate carvings and everyone would see the beauty."

Then the second tree said, "Someday I will be a mighty ship. I will take Kings andQueens across the waters and sail to the corners of the world. Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my hull.

Finally the third tree said, "I want to grow to be the tallest and straightest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the hill and look up to my branches, and think of the heavens and God, and how close to them I am reaching. I will be the greatest tree of all time and people will always remember me."

After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true, a group of woodsmen came upon the trees. When one came to the first tree he said, "This looks like a strong tree. I think I should be able to sell the wood to a Carpenter, ... and he began cutting it down. The tree was happy because he knew that the carpenter would make him into a fine treasure chest.

At the second tree, the woodsman said, "This looks like a strong tree. I should be able to sell it at the shipyard." The second tree was happy because he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship.

When the woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was frightened because he knew that if they cut him down, his dreams would not come true. One of the woodsmen said, "I don't need anything special from my tree, ... I'll take this one." ... and he cut it down.

When the first tree arrived at the shop of the carpenters, he was made into a feed box for animals. He was then placed in a nearby cave and filled with hay for the sheep, goats, and cows. This was not at all what he had prayed for.

The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of becoming a mighty ship and carrying kings had come to an end.

The third tree was cut into large pieces, and left alone in the dark to dry out.

The years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams.

Then one day, a man and woman came to the cave. She gave birth and they placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time.

Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on the water, a great storm arose and the tree didn't think it was strong enough to keep the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and He stood and said "Peace" and the storm stopped. At this time, the tree knew that it had carried the King of Kings in its boat.

Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came to a stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of a hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as was possible, because his son, Jesus, had been crucified on it.

The moral of this story is that when things don't seem to be going your way, always know that God has a plan for you. If you place your trust in Him, God will give you great gifts.

Each of the trees got what they wanted, just not in the way they had imagined.

We don't always know what God's plans are for us. We just know that His Ways are not our ways, ... but His ways are always best.

Please keep this moving... Pass it on, so God may inspire more people on The Way.

SPECIAL GROCERY LIST 

Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. 

She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries. 

She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.

John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once. 

Visualizing the family needs, she said: 'Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as
soon as I can.'

John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store. 

Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family.
The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, 'Do you have a grocery list?' 

Louise replied, 'Yes sir.' 'O.K' he said, 'put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries.'

Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed. 

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down.

The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, 'I can't believe it.' 

The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more. 

The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:

'Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands.' 

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.

Louise thanked him and left the store. 
The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said;

'It was worth every penny of it. Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs.'

We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning....  

Maybe, Sunday night...  
And, the unlikely event of a midweek service.  
We do like to have Him around during sickness...  


And, of course, at funerals.  

However, we don't have time, or room, for Him during work or play...  


Because.. That's the part of our lives we think... We can, and should, handle on our own.  

May God forgive me for ever thinking...  
That... there is a time or place where..  

HE is not to be FIRST in my life.  



We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us.

my dad is so blessed to have as a son for close to 30 years.  i love my father so much and he means so much to me.    worked with him at firemen's park in campbellsport to prepare for the annual volunteer firemen's picnic when he was on the fire department  went golfing together throughout the years  went to lambeau for 2 packer games, 2 scrimmages, and toured the stadium  did much more and is alot to add,  we had our bad points in life but we worked them out.  our relationship really got strnoger when he asked to go with him to a small men's confrence at saint francis cabrini church in west bend.  that little confrence was a life changing event for me.  i am glad my father asked me to join him.  we heard a story that his preist at holy angels told us about what happened to him.  after the confrence in the small gathering room in the parish center, we made our journey to the church for the eucharistic adoration part of the confrence.  that is where we sang some hyms that we were to go to.  during that time, the preist read some readings and a gospel reading and conducted the eucharist.  at the end of the confrence i thanked my dad for considering me to come.  the very first men of christ confrence in 2007, my father and i signed up and went to the washing county fairgrounds expo building.  we heard speakers like larry richards(from relevant radio), drew marioni(from relevant radio), and other speakers.  during the mens confence, they had a time to go to a preist and confess our sins to the that particular preist.  when the eucharistic adoration came around, that is when me and my father said our penances that the preist gave us to do.  at the end of the confrence, father dolan did a great job on presiding the mass.  that major confrence was also a major life changing thing for me and my father during our faith journey.  when i got out of my dad's vehicle, i always tell him that i love him and god bless.  after the confrence when i got home, i e-mailed my father thanking him for considering me for the men's confrence.  in that e-mail, i talked how much stronger our relationship will be in the presence of our lord savior jesus christ and the father almighty.  i also talked about in the e-mail that our relationship will be stronger in the years to come beyond the men's confrences.  he sends me a reply when he sees that particular e-mail which means truly a lot to me.  my father and i went to the second men of christ confrence this year at state fair park in milwaukee.  the speakers were very powerful and had a strong message.  let me say that the confrence in milwaukee waq also a life changing thing for me and my father.  this time for confession, they had sections lined up where you can go in and talk to a preist face to face in a large area surrounded by deviders.  during the eucharistic adoration, we did the same thing, saying our penances.  and again father dolan did a great job presiding over the mass at state fair park.  after my father took me home after i had supper by him and my stepmom, i thanked my dad for a very informative day.  when i got out of my dad's vehicle, i told him i love you and god bless.  when i got in the house, i e-mailed him a very touching prayer and a touching letter(should have kept it for you bloggers to read).  i think our relationship will be stronger through good times and bad, especially when he found out that he lost a dear brother at 2:30 in the morning on april 7 at the age of 48.  he helped me through it when i got the call from him 20 minutes before i was to leave for work.  i love my father so much.  now i hope he takes better care of himself and quits smoking.  i would hate to see him in the condition his brother was in.  my father is a good man and i want him to be there when my half brothers graduate from high school and college.  i hope this long blog touches all of you bloggers since fathers day is sunday especially if there are any bloggers that are fathers.  for all of you father bloggers out there, happy fathers day on sunday.  may god bless every single father blogger out there and their families.

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down

when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared . Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry driver

then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against

a parked car shouting, 'What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?' The young boy was apologetic. 'Please, mister...please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do,' He pleaded. 'I threw the brick because no one else would stop...' With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. 'It's my brother, 'he said. 'He rolled off the curb and fell out of his
wheelchair and I can't lift him up.'

Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, 'Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me.'

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay. 'Thank you and may God bless you,' the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy! push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.

It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message: 'Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!' God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or not.

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day, I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you.

I ask now for Your forgiveness. Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over. And give the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.

I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak... Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way. I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don't know You intimately. I pray for those that will delete this without sharing it with others I pr ay for those that don't believe.

But I thank you that I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all my sisters   and brothers. For each and every family member in their households. I pray for peace , love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met. I pray that every eye that re ads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight. I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees it.
