How can you talk about the packers the way you are?  Brett Favre and his antics have cost us dearly so far and made us the laughing stock of the league.  (and the country for that matter).  This guy says no twice to returning as our starting quarterback and forces the team to go in a different direction with our future, and you pin heads are saying that it is Ted Thompsons fault?  Do you watch ESPN or Fox Sports?  Both have stated the facts over and over again.  Yet you people write in these blogs that Farve is right?  Pathetic.  You people should understand that the Franchise of the Green Bay Packers is far bigger then Favre will ever be.  He took us to 2 superbowls in 17 years, and has lost every playoff or title game since with his "fly by night" throwing antics.  You are not true packer fans when you side with a guy who has a wife that is making more waves then any hurricane to hit our shores.  Deanna should get a job and a life of her own instead of ruining the legacy of a great player.  She doesn't have a clue what true fans are thinking of her antics to get Brett to return.  She doesn't see that the guy waffles more then the International House of Pancakes.  She needs to shut her mouth and find something else to push her hen-pecked husband into doing.  Maybe ESPN will hire him since he loves to talk so much to Mortenson, maybe he should work with him.  Either way, I would change the channel.

Fans need to stop using their memories and hearts in their thinking and replace it with common sense.  Any American who QUITS (retires) their jobs have no right to beg for them back.  And Favre is no exception to that rule.  Whiners get the leftovers while REAL people get the main meals.  Brett is tired of eating them that's all.  It hurts to know that you are no longer the man doesn't it brett?  Well, you are ruining what's left of your legacy, and instead you will be known as "the man who's wife made him do it".  Sound familiar?

Not only is Thompson making a mess out of this whole mello-drama affair with Favre, but he is always blowing off our STARTING Running Back in Mr. Grant. A contract extension offer that was a complete joke for a back of Grants abilities. Come on Ted, who is going to be next?

Doesn't this remind you of the thinking of the early 90's? Sign your players at what YOU want and not what they are worth.

Why not cut Favre and his 12 million contract, pay Grant his money, get another Nose Tackle .  Then when Brett finally comes home to Green Bay to play for another team, the fans will show him what we all true think of him.

The debate has gone on for years now, but Wisconsinites need to rally together to get rid of the Gasoline Additive Ethanol. The Environmental Protection Agency when asked about the levels of Ozone and Smog that has been reduced since our being forced to use it could not produce an answer. There is no evidence that Ethanol has reduced anything since its inception and in fact, it may have been producing more harmful air concerns then straight gasoline.

At the same time, it is causing substantial concerns as well. Like it is lowering our miles to each gallon of gasoline by 2 to 3. It is disrupting our food chain and causing shortages everywhere. It takes longer and is more expensive to purify and clean before going to the pumps you use to fill your gas tanks.

Mr. Doyle, you hold the key to making this a major issue with major consequences to our futures. Get out there and demand the rezoning of the EPA grid maps. Get on a much stronger and aggressive trail with holding Illinois accountable for the bad air coming from there. Nothing will happen until someone forces it to. So somebody, Please start.

Police officers pulling over motorcycles because they are loud or catching that guy (or gal) that just passed me like I was standing still on the expressway? (I was going 70 by the way).  While he goes about his marry ways that may eventually cause a very serious accident with fatalities, motorcycles riders who legally modify or upgrade their exhaust systems, and that causes the bike to become louder, are pulled over and fined up to $189.00.

Where are our priorities?

Just wondering.

Last night my son and I had a discussion about why the Government is so set against affordable energy. My son, who turned 18 in Feb. said he will be voting this year if he can understand what each candidate and party were about. He asked me many questions that I simply had no answers for, other then the obvious. He asked about why we went to war, and why the prices of everything we buy has jumped so incredibly high, so fast.  He asked me why our street is filled with pot holes even though we pay so much in taxes.  He asked me why you have to pay taxes on your home every year when anything else you buy has only a one-time tax?

Politicians are constantly selling the public this notion that they are working towards affordable health care for all Americans. They also talk about lowering taxes and cutting wasteful spending. They are requiring automakers to produce cleaner running vehicles to help the "So-Called" greenhouse gas reduction. With all this going on, we have the ability to have affordable energy right here at home. No dependence on other countries to sustain our way of life.

We as a nation must take control and let our leaders know who elected them and who they now represent. We need them to allow the exploration, drilling and refining of the vast oil reserves within our own borders. Stop doing nothing and collecting more and more taxes off the backs of Americans. Our history shows that we embarked to this nation to get away from the taxation. Millions of people have died to keep this freedom in place, it is called the US Constitution.

It is one thing to run on a platform of reform and change, it is another to actually realize it. I want to see my Representatives do more to protect me. I want to be able to support my family and live in peace. I want my neighbors to be as respectful to me as I am to them. That isn't to much to ask is it?

The 15 and 16 year olds that are perpetrating these crimes of violence on our buses and in our schools, are the same thugs that will be escalating their behavior to new levels when they are 19 and 20.  They are the same group that likes to bully and steal lunch money from weaker kids from 3rd to 8th grades.  With absolutely no respect or morals, (thanks parents) or values that define one's character.  This was a problem school to begin with and allowing "Clicks" to form on and off school grounds was their downfall.

Our courts need to stop slapping the wrists of offenders that are underage and give them multiple upon multiple chances to change.  Jail gives them three meals a day, a roof over their head, and a place to sit around and talk to their friends.  What are their REAL consequences to their actions?  A spanking from a non-existent parent?  Handcuffed in the back of a squad car? No.  So what do we need?

We need immediate intervention from the school level up.  If a students behavior crosses the line of right and wrong, record it.  Allow law enforcement to review cases of violence or intimidation.  And jail any member of a group that decides it is okay, to intentionally overwhelm by numbers a single victim and do extreme harm to him or her.

No minimum sentences, 15 or 16 year olds that participate in this type of behavior should be tried as adults, and subsequently sentenced as one.

This poem is for you, my friends in blue.  You deserve better treatment then you get.  I for one thank you for what you do every day.

I can not find the perfect words
to truly express to you,
How thankful we are for the service you provide
and doing what you do,

On the roads at all hours of the night and
watching for bad wrong doer’s,
Drunken driving, burglar’s, thieves
and those crazy drug user’s,

When you dress in uniform, you represent
us all,
You take your lives into your hands
when answering any calls,

Many will blame you for their mistakes and say
that you were wrong,
for putting them in handcuffs and jail
where they belong,

They fight and resist and scream that they had
been abused,
Officers then are pulled from action and most of
them get sued,

Support our officers and respect what they do and help them
if you can,
and don’t forget to take the chance to extend to them
your hand,

Thank them for what they do each day by protecting us
from danger,
and stop the negativity and remember they
are NOT strangers.

We as a nation have been bombarded over the last couple of years with question after question about who's rights are more important. Radical left wingers VS conservative right wingers, (and all those in the middle) Pro-War VS Anti-War, For universal health care, against universal health care.

Smoking VS Obesity, (which of these two actually cost the taxpayers of this nation more in health care dollars?) Obesity cost's taxpayers over 200,000 million dollars more each year then smoking, yet there is no fat food tax at the drive through!! Yet smokers have to pay a additional tax to fund the "perception" that the money is going to fight the health care costs.

Activists should fight every fight if they want to single out one. For instance, you want to talk about how you worry that my second hand smoke is bothering and hurting you, yet you go places where you KNOW people will be smoking. You have already pushed us out just about as far as we are going let you. We feel that with the no smoking bans in Motels and Hotels, Office Buildings, Malls, Sporting Arena's and even at some restaurants, that is far enough.  But it is no longer okay for you to just keep piling on and riding the "morality bandwagon" when you look right past the other things that are far more important and never "okay."  Then you remain silent.

Like these topics:
1) Smoking VS Alcohol, which one of these actually kills more people each year?
2) The killing of innocent people: Gangs VS Religion?
3) Graduation rates: Suburbs VS inner city?
4) Babies raised poor and in absolute Poverty and raised by only one parent: Suburbs VS Inner City?
5) Freedom of the Iraqi people VS the lives of our US Soldiers?
6)  Tax dollars to fund Immigration migration VS Health care for all CURRENT U.S. children of school age?
7)  Spend Trillions of dollars paying other countries for their oil and making them rich VS drilling for own oil and paying them nothing?

It is time that we as a society start talking about some much more serious issues and not our own simple agenda's.

This speaks for itself.

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it is, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.
But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue.

Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table .... everywhere!

Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket.
And others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.
After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.
Soon, the back yard was like it used to be.... quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.

Now let's see. Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.
Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English.
Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to "press one" to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than "Old Glory" are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.
Just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder. If you agree, pass it on; if not, continue cleaning up the poop!

The parents of the 11 year old are trying to use prayer as an excuse for murder.  This innocent young girl had a long life to look forward to but it was snuffed out by two parents who are using "prayer" as an excuse for murder.  To say that prayer could ever explain neglect is absurd.

All it took was a shot that would have saved this little angle from weeks of pain and agony.  Priests, Rabbi's, and all other clergy would have taken their child to the doctor for the help they needed instead of thinking that God would fix the problem.  I can not believe that our liberal media is actual reporting about the reason this happened is because of their faith.  There is no religion in the world that would agree with this.  God gave us doctors to help us in the event illness would fall upon us.  So to say that prayer alone would change the outcome of their daughters plight is simply unforgivable.

Their obscene negligence needs to be addressed with the strongest of mans law, prison.  It  is truly reprehensible that they would try and justify their conduct by saying that they were praying that god would intravene and save their daughter.  It would be more believable if they said they couldn't afford the cost of medical treatment then it is to say that god was their only option.  It is appalling to even suggest that.  There is a reason why the United States is like no other country in the world, we help each other.  Did they seek out spiritual guidance in this matter?  If they did, they would have been told to take her to the doctor.

This is a cop-out excuse that should be met with a prison sentence.  You can not take upon yourself to decide what is right or wrong when dealing with the potential of death lurking overhead.  We have laws for this very reason.  I say through the book at them and make it hurt so that others will never make this life or death decision again in the name of religion.

Sick, just sick.  I wonder if the mother went to the hospital to have her during child birth, and was under the care of a doctor.   If so, their defense should be thrown out the window and then I would guess insanity would become their plea.  Prison!!!!!

While watching CSPAN2 yesterday, I was enthralled with the words and agruments that were put forth by both the Senator's from New York and Washington. They addressed the need to pass a Bill that is currently up for a vote in the Senate that would block the proposed 14 billion dollar sale of weapons to Saudi Arabia and other middle eastern countries that make up "OPEC" and the WTO, unless they stop the intentional lowering of supply that is jacking up the demand and price of oil in order to make huge and astronomical profits on the backs of Americans. They graphed how the Saudi's and OPEC have intentionally lowered oil production from 2005 to 2007, and how it is effecting the global economy. It would require Mr. Bush, his administration and his close friends in the Arab Nations to immediately stop this trend and increase their productions in order to lower the demand. I believe that these bi-partisan Senators are on the right track and we all need to contact our senators and tell them to vote yes.

As well, who can tell me why the United States is sitting on one of the largest oil fields in the world that lies beneath two of our states, (Dakota's) and yet we are not drilling and refining it? Every country in the world that has oil fields uses them, and we have to pay them to get it. Yet we won't pay ourselves for the same resource?

I think that is completely asinine and illogical. It is estimated that our oil fields have over 200 million barrels in them. That is enough oil to satisfy our country for over 200 to 300 years. It would then stop us from having to depend on foreign oil and it would also create thousands of new jobs and reenergize our economy. It seems to me that its the politicians that are diverting the attention on this matter to that of the extremist environmentalist who don't want to tarnish our own lands.

Stand up and be counted instead of skirting the issue Mr. Bush. Just because it may mean that your personal wealth would become effected (his family oil), doesn't mean that you can't stand up and say enough. Last time I checked, the Saudi's still owe us over a trillion dollars for helping them with the invasion by Sadam and those pesky republican guards. Why are we not calling them now in our time of need?

Mr Kohl, are you going to say something or not? How about Mr. Doyle? Politicians were elected to represent us, so when are they going to start?

Yesterday I ran to the store about 3 miles away from my house.  During that trip, I was appalled at what I was seeing.  I passed over 8 different vehicles that were filled with  teenagers that had felt it was their right to do whatever they wanted whenever they wanted.  One car with 4 teenagers in it, (3 of the boys had their hats turned to the left or right like they were really cool dudes, NOT!!) were flipping the fingers at other motorists that they came up to at stop lights.  Another car had 5 teenagers in it with two girls sitting backwords on their boyfriends laps in the back seats and making out.  A third did a breakstand that created a lot of smoke and simply laughed at me when I shook my head in disgust.

I just can't believe that some of our future generation have absolutely no regard for anyone else but themselves.  This feeling of entitlement that some of our youth express has left me simply bewildered.  Boys with hats cranked to one side or the other and their pants dragging around their ankles makes me sick.  It shows their ignorance and need for attention.

Freedom of expression is one thing, but to act like a thug or a bad guy is the stupidest behavior I have ever seen.  Do these teenagers think they control the world?  No.  They just care about themselves and no one else.  These are also the same pieces of garbage that get girls pregnant and then ditch them.  Parents should be a little more in tune with what their kids are doing with their vehicles and and not letting them do as they wish. Oh, I forgot, how about our law enforcement community start stopping these vehicles and ensuring that these drivers have valid licenses that allow them to have 4 other tennagers in the car with them.  Since the last time I checked, that wasn't legal until you have had your license for over two years, right?

Listening to the news on the radio the other day, I heard that a barrel of oil rose to an all time record high of $117.00.  I have also noticed and felt the effect of that change when visiting the gas pumps myself.  I have to drive over 55 miles a day for work so I understand the cost of what's involved.  More and more of my paycheck is going towards the cost of transportation.  Not to mention, I have two teenage boys (16 and 18) that require additional mileage and additional gas.

So I got to thinking.  What is the real reason as to why the oil companies are reporting such huge profits and we are stressing for every gallon we are pumping?  There is something that I really do not understand here.  Why isn't our government getting involved to control and regulate the unbelievable gouging that is being done to the average American?  Instead, our President, (who comes from an Oil Family), diverts the issue into what the environmentalists love, safer and cleaner automobiles.   I manage a gas station and I listen to complaints, day after day after day.  As if I were controlling the current cost of each barrel.

We need our chain of command to listen and act now.  Starting with our County Executive, our  Mayor, our Legislature and finishing with our Congressmen and Senators.  Someone has got to stand up and say enough.  I was forced to quit smoking because of the price.  I didn't want to quit and I don't want to hear people saying that I am better off now health wise.  That doesn't change the fact that I had more likelihood to be killed by a drunk driver then to die by smoking.  But that is not what this is about.  If you believe in God, and you believe that he created all, then Oil must have been on his mind when he decided to give us the engine idea, right?  So why do we now want to stop using that most important treasure of the center of our earth?

Lower the prices already.

What messages are we as parents sending to our next generation about sex and the responsibilities and consequences of it?  Obviously the facts speak for themselves that kids are out of control as it relates to sexual contact between the ages of 14 and 17 year olds.  Birth rates are out of control and happening with our younger and younger teenagers.  Sexually transmitted disease rates have risen dramatically amongst our teenage populations.  This is a major problem that needs a major attention boost.

Being the father of two teenage boys, (16 and 18) I have lived with the belief that I taught them enough about respect that they would think before they acted.  They understand that the instant attraction and excitement they feel about the girls they are dating is perfectly okay.  But when that feeling begins to override their will power, change the situation.  Be responsible and understand that what you do today will determine how tomorrow is lived.  I believe that.  But it seems that many other parents are not doing the same things that I am trying to do.  They are not making sure that their children understand that THEY control their lives and their destiny's.  They must take school seriously, they must take life seriously and treat everyone with respect.  I am so tired of hearing excuses about lack of parenting.  From the "It is where we live, the neighborhood, that's why their in gangs,"  or "I don't know why my child is 14 or 15 and running around outside at 11:30 at night, I didn't tell them they could do that.  I had to work you know?"  Or "I don't care what their grades are, only that they are there everyday and they will get a meal or two."

Now I am not saying that is the case with all parents.  Not at all.  Just those who chose to either ignore or simply not care about the consequences of letting the child grow up with no positive role models in their lives.  Children become what they grow up seeing.  It is a proven fact.  If a child is raised in front of a television, they lose interpersonal skills and relationship coping skills.  If they are raised with no supervision, (the come and go constantly kids) They do not learn boundaries and routine type responsibilities.  That is our job as parents.  We are responsible for making sure that they understand right and wrong, and common sense.  That they understand the "do unto other's as you would want done to you" mentality.  Help thy neighbor and not fear or ridicule him thought process.

Many of our children here in Milwaukee are lost.  They have chose a path of darkness and crime over the path to progress and success.  We can get them back.  It starts with one child at a time, and you know where your start is.  It is in your own homes.  Change your child and you will change three.  Since they have friends and the child has three friends, you see my point.

But to have kids committing crimes such as Assault & Battery, Domestic Violence, Rape, Kidnapping, Burglary, Armed Robbery, and Murder in the name of poverty and it is all that they know, is a joke and total cop-out.  These are the kids where they parents are missing.  Working, out at the bar or at friends houses, drinking or doing drugs, or simply out of touch with their lives and vegging on their couches.  These kids have no supervision and the parents have no ideas what these kids are up to.  Those are who I am angry at.  If you don't care about where they are at 11:30 pm, I now understand why you were not at Parent Teacher Meetings either.

We must change for our futures sake.

We all knew it was coming, so we must move on.  Remember, but move on.  We have a draft coming up very soon, and if you all loved our Mr. Farve, then we need to trade some picks in order to move up and sign (Mr. Farve Jr.) Hawaii's Quarterback, Colt Brennen.  Colt is a young gun slinger just like what Ron Wolf saw in Brett.  He has the same type of physical makeup with a young and very powerful arm.  He has a innate ability to read defenses and make necessary changes.

Brett, you will be missed by all a great deal.  But we also thank you for everything you gave us over the years.  You will always be Mr. Sports to me.
