Mr. McGee (however you spell his last name) finally gets what he deserves.  It has been a long time coming, but the verdict came out....guilty on all nine counts.

After all the things he tried to pull as an alderman, it would be nice to see him face 30 years in a federal prison.  However, that probably won't happen.

I can't wait to watch the news the day that he gets sentenced.

What are your thoughts on the verdict in the case?!?

I just love the way some of his supporters are claiming it was a "set up". I saw an interview with one of his brothers. McGee's brother said something like "everyone has made mistakes". Lets see. My mistakes today.... Hitting the off button on the alarm instead of the snooze button. Picking up a bottle of red wine for dinner instead of white wine. Accidentally erasing a program off the DVR. I do not remember threatening anyone today. I do not remember accepting any bribes today. I did not illegally wire money today.

McGee is in jail for one reason only. He broke the law! If he did not break the law then he would not be in jail. The excuse of "others do it too" does not excuse it. There was no doubt - his own words convicted him!

He could have done so much more for his district but made the choice to do what he did. Now he has to pay. That simple.

I think justice was served here. The man was a crook and got what he deserved.

There was obviously enough evidence to convict him. The jury was chosen fairly and was a jury of his peers.
If you don't break the law, you don't go to jail. It's that simple.

they did find him guilty, But watch they will say time served and he'll be out. By the way , the one lady on the news said it was a setup but did she hear they had him on tape? DUHHHH

I agree. He got what he deserved. Hope he goes to jail for a long time.

If this were California then he would get the "time served" stamp (or would have been found "not guilty"). The feds don't play that way though. Then he still have the other trial to go through. Wonder if his attorney will try to do anything different based on what happened here.

His supporters do not care about what he did. They are glossing over the fact that if he has not committed a crime he would not be in jail. I guess it is a "set up" if you get caught doing something illegal.

You may not be laughing if some of his supporters decide to use this as an excuse for civil unrest. It's only a matter of time. The big bang is coming up, and I dearly hope it's only fireworks.

It's about time, and I resent, as a taxpayer, that we had to feed and house his @$$ for 13 months before he was convicted.

I am finally going to write a bio...I am an avid sports addict. My favorite is football especially the Green Bay Packers. Not only do I watch sports, but I still play sports when time permits. I like blogging because I get to see so many other peoples perspective. I may not agree with you, but I will try to at least understand where you are coming from. Many of the topics are very interesting as well. I am a very "down-to-earth" person but I greatly dislike when people name-call on here just because their beliefs are different. There are other ways to get your point across without name-calling. I look forward to getting to know my fellow bloggers!
