Favre Out, Or In?

Well, it's a bit earlier in the morning that it was on Monday.
Back from another day on the "Favre Watch" in Titletown.
It's 1:19am and I wonder if Brett and Mike McCarthy are still meeting!
Actually, they finally left Lambeau Field at 11:20 Monday night.
Of course, Coach Mac was supposed to meet with number four, then go take on the media at 8:15.
But a scheduled 2 hour meeting took 5 hours!
Imagine being a fly on the wall?
Given that Prince Fielder lost his cool in the Brewers dugout Monday night at Cincinnati (losing 8 of the last 11 sure doesn't help the spirits) , I suppose coach and quarterback could have been "sparring", at least verbally.
After all, Brett has had a lot to say-and not a whole lot of it nice-about the Packers.
Then again, the team could have handled the situation much more gracefully.
This much is for certain, Photojournalist Mickie Leach and I plan on another trek up I-43N in a few hours.
By then, we should have a time from the Packers on when Coach Mac is supposed to meet the media-take two.
Favre's been reinstated by the NFL Commish. By all accounts, he took his physical and conditioning test on Monday.
Will he be on the practice field on Tuesday afternoon at two?
In Minnesota? Back in Mississippi?
Ya can't count out anything in this saga!
Stay tuned and thanks for tuning in!
Favre Out!
The fascination with Brett Lorenzo Favre has reached an all-time high!
Nothing comes close to matching this one for its' high drama.
Everywhere you turn-locally and nationally, EVERYONE'S talking about number four returning to Titletown-ready, willing and we presume, still able to be a starter-and one of the better qb's in the NFL.
My point here is that nothing-not even the Brewers (Sunday's 5-0 loss to Atanta was forgettable anyay.) can come close to matching the intrigue this story provides.
UNTIL THE TWO SIDES RESOLVE THEIR ISSUES, WE'LL DO UR BEST TO COVER OTHER SPORTS; BUT LET'S FACE IT, WE'RE A ONE-TRICK PONY..AND YOU'VE MADE THE CALL!

Favre Story Surreal

Good morning.
It's 1:40 in the morning on Monday. We've all been going around here for a dozen hours or so.
But I can't unwind, what with thoughts of an incredible Sunday on my mind.
So why not share them?!
Brett Favre said he didn't want to be a distraction, but he became one on Sunday-however unwittingly.
By flying into town with the blessing of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, number four took a lot of juice out of the Packers' Family Night scrimmage.
The weather delay up there didn't help!
Imagine Brett and Deanna sitting in the Favre box, watching Family Night?!
So, as I write this blog, Brett Lorenzo Favre has forced the Pack into a corner.
Word is-he'll be on the practice field Tuesday, following Monday's physical, conditioning and meetings--OFFICIALLY UN-RETIRED!.
Open competition?
That's what GM Ted Thompson and Head Coach Mike McCarthy "SAY" is going to happen for the starting nod at quarterback.
But they've promised the job to Aaron Rodgers.
The Commish will be monitoring the situation closely to make sure there's no nonsense going down..
Credibility's at stake.
Don't be shocked if Green Bay trys to work a trade.
Otherwise, the circus will never end!
Favre Frenzy, Brewers Frustration

Hi Friends,
Just wanted to drop a note to say-I'm FRUSTRATED with the Crew!
Actually, I'm just angry at those Cubs!
Florida's Marlins had their number all weekend; then Chicago's Northsiders woke up from a slumber on Sunday, overcame a big deficit, and brough the MoJo to Miller Park (along with their many fans).
The Brewers have lost three games to the Cubs in the standings, over the last 3 days.
After dropping the first two games of a big three game series with their pair of aces on the hill, Ned Yost's nine is counting on Manny Parra and Dave Bush to get 'em back in the mix over the next couple days.
It's still July, but sweeping their Border Battle would send a clear message that the Cubs are serious about owning first place.
A big couple days upcoming for the Brewers, and the Pack.
What with the news that Brett Favre has faxed his reinstatement papers to the NFL office, the ball is clearly in G.M. Ted Thompson's court.
He has twenty four hours to trade the icon, release him, bring him into camp (what a fiasco that'd be!), or fail him during his physical.
We know know that Brett Lorenzo Favre is serious about wanting to un-retire, and maybe, stick it to Thompson-who he can't trust.
The beat goes on, in Titltetown, and Miller Park.
Frustrating at times-but always exciting.
I love it!
CC For Cy Young?

Gotta give CC Sabathia big-time props again!
The big left-hander has been on an amazing run!
CC's three hit shutout of St. Louis on Wednesday night was his third complete game in a row.
He's 4-0 as a Brewers moundsman.
It's no coincidence that with the arrival of Sabathia, the Crew's playing its' best baseball.
In case you're scoring, that's seven straight wins-6 in a row on the road (for the first time since 1999), 15 games over 500-they only made it to 14 last year-and a game OVER 500 away from Miller Park-FOR THE SEASON!
There's a lot of baseball left, but at this pace, you could put Sabathia in the mix for the Cy Young award in the National league!
GO BREW CREW!
GIVE IT UP FOR NED YOST, ALREADY!
Now That's A Crew Call!

Man, how about YOUR Milwaukee Brewers!
I love the six straight wins.
I love seeing Bill Hall be a hitting hero for the 2nd straight night in St. Louis.
I'm all about seeing Rickie Weeks start to spray the ball all over the field.
How about Jeff Suppan, just of the disabled list, battling his former Cardinals teammates-holding them to just 3 runs over seven innings?!
Wht I love the most is seeing Ned Yosts Crew win 5 in a row on the road to start the so-called "second half "of the season (even thought Tuesday night was their 100th game)
Almost unbelievably, Milwaukee has a 500 record (26-26).
That's the difference between this year's team and last year's squad.
That could also make the difference between playing in the post season party and staying home for the26th year in a row!
U.S. Bank A Rich Golf Tournament

On a national scale, the U.S. Bank Championship doesn't get much love.
It's been bounced around more than one of Pipines errant tee shots, banging off a bunch of trees!
But every year, the tournament run so well by director Dan Croak and his staff-along with countless volunteers-survives, and thrives.
There's thousands and thousands of dollars for local charities-and some awesome golf.
Sure, the biggest names were at the British Open this past week, but Sunday's finish was terrific.
Here's Sweden's Richard S. Johnson-winner of less than 50 grand, 221st on the money list, winning his first PGA Tour event, and pocketing 720 grand in the process.
It may not be a major; but the U.S. Bak Championship is all Wisconsin.
Here's hoping the 41 year old tourney goes on for years to come.
To asll who make it possible, "you da men, and women"!
Kenny Perry is fourty-seven years old.
But the man is playing golf like a fella twenty years his junior!
All he's done is win three times in his last five events.
Perry is playing in this weekend's U.S. Bank Championship at Brown Deer Park Golf Course-even though he easily qualified to play in the British Open.
The reason is that Kenny gave his word when he set his schedule up.
A humble human being, who doesn't understand all the fuss over choosing Brown Deer Park over Royal Birkdale, Kenny Perry shuns the spotlight; he's not comfortable in it.
But his accomplishments on the course-where he's been well BELOW par, combined with his behavior off it-well ABOVE par, make that a tough task.
Enjoy Keny Perry's game this weekend if you're at the tourney.
Count it a blessing that a player of that stature-more important, a man with his ethics, is playing in this great event.
Favre Out Or In?

While I'm sitting around the office, waiting for the Major League Baseball All-Star game to end...
I'm like most of you, wondering, through all the rhetoric on both sides, if Brett Favre's going to throw another pass in the NFL.
If so, for which team?
My uncle once told me, "Tommy (I was a little guy back then), it doesn't matter who's right or wrong. It's how it all comes out in the end".
Uncle Pete was right on.
The same applies here; there's enough blame to go around.
Bottom line, 'how's it gonna turn out'?
For the life of me, I don't know.
I can see any number of scenarios playing out.
At this time, I'm gonna guess that Brett's gonna get traded.
Then the ball's gonna be in his court.
If that scenario plays out, Ted Thompson's legacy's on the line.
If Aaron Rogers is a winning quarterback, life at 1265 Lombardi Ave. will be fine.
If not, the G.M. may get run out of (Title) town!
