Well, it's a bit earlier in the morning that it was on Monday.

Back from another day on the "Favre Watch" in Titletown.

It's 1:19am and I wonder if Brett and Mike McCarthy are still meeting!

Actually, they finally left Lambeau Field at 11:20 Monday night.

Of course, Coach Mac was supposed to meet with number four, then go take on the media at 8:15.

But a scheduled 2 hour meeting took 5 hours!

Imagine being a fly on the wall?

Given that Prince Fielder lost his cool in the Brewers dugout Monday night at Cincinnati (losing 8 of the last 11 sure doesn't help the spirits) , I suppose coach and quarterback could have been "sparring", at least verbally.

After all, Brett has had a lot to say-and not a whole lot of it nice-about the Packers.

Then again, the team could have handled the situation much more gracefully.

This much is for certain, Photojournalist Mickie Leach and I plan on another trek up I-43N in a few hours.

By then, we should have a time from the Packers on when Coach Mac is supposed to meet the media-take two.

Favre's been reinstated by the NFL Commish.  By all accounts, he took his physical and conditioning test on Monday.

Will he be on the practice field on Tuesday afternoon at two?

     In Minnesota?  Back in Mississippi?

Ya can't count out anything in this saga!

Stay tuned and thanks for tuning in!

Brett has every right to be mad. If Barry Sanders would have wanted to come back to the lions, do you think they would have said you have to compete for your job? I don't think so. Thompson needs to go. BY the way Ted Thompson, good call on the Randy Moss non-signing! The Packers are in for some hard times unless they dump Thompson, not Favre.

I just have to say what the Packers are doing is hurting the league. How can they say its all Brett, I mean come on if someone else wanted to come back to the team they would jump at the chance to put a winning team on the field. I think TT MM are being selfish and are just thinking about themselves. Once Rodgers crashes and burns within the first 2 games of the season, then they will finally see what a huge mistake they made. Brett is a idol to all and will aways be. If it turns out that he plays for another team, guess what... I'll be cheering for him and not the Packers!

Break-ups are ALWAYS messy.

Especially 15+ years relationships.

Tom Pippins,
I have always liked you as a sportscaster and I agree that McCarthy did a pretty good job with the news conference today. I still couldn't help but feel like you were siding with the Packer organizastion over this deal...especially with your comment "then why did he come if he wasn't ready to play?" The Packers can try to act all innocent now and say that they were willing to give him a chance to even start....and it all sounds good. But, of course there are hard feelings. First of all, given the stance he is taking about the hard feelings...clearly there were lies...or misleading information regarding his unretiring. Otherwise, how much easier would it be for him to move on.... All he had to do was say the words. Since the day he formally announced he wanted to come back...the Packers have done nothing except attempt to discourage and dissuade him from doing so....to the extent of offering him 25million to stay retired. And now they want to know if he is a 100% committed to the Packers. Is it no wonder he turned that question back on them?? Seriously? Had the organization first reponded to his int4eret in coming back from a discussion stand point...instead of a resounding NO...we wouldn't be here. My guess is that Brett just wanted someone to say so...for Ted or Mike to say maybe they jumped the gun on being so adamant about him not returning. But neither of those egos would allow for that. But, now two days after reinstating him, they want to know if he is the guy who is going to be studying film at 4:00 after practice is over.... Hmmm... Soun

Nice FavreFan, I will probably have to support Brett over the Packers in this one. TT has done the opposite of what he is constantly preaching, making the best business descision. HELLO EARTH TO TT!!!! Who's jersey is the best selling of all time? Who is the face of the NFL? And dont tell me giving 20 million dollars to be a "marketing mogul" counts. That is just code 4 we r paying u to stay away. Also most fans want favre to start instead of Rodgers. All I have to say is, Ted Thompson please stop making this a personal thing and do whats right 4 the Green Bay Packers, start Brett Favre!!!!!!!!!!

Tom did you cover the same speech I watched or did MM do one just specially for you ??? He told Brett Favre "I don't believe in you, but your welcome to compete for the job" how could you possibly saw this in any other way?? what is wrong with you !!!!!

The Big question tat has never been addressed is why don't they want him back , just to say they moved on is no answer. When he wanted to come back in march why didn't they say fine come back and compete and if he didn't make it then fine let him go ,they have never said that he wasn't any good ,even the coach said that he was the best choice for
the packers success ,Who in the packers organization didn't want him back and why ,The rest of whats going on is just smoke and mirrors so they don't have to answer the big question of why they would not want him back, so they tell him we have moved on ,you can not play for us but you can not play for anyone else .just go away

I hope some of your reporters start asking this question till they get an answer
most of the problems and bad press the packers are getting could have been avoided had they handled it different
the team, they fans ,Bret deserved better ,this team the fans the players come to green bay because we have a legacy of being better than the rest of the NFL
If this is they way they treat a 17 year star player ,Packers players beware your time will come ,this is not the team you might have thought you were signing up for.

The packers claim their doing whats best for the team to win , Discarding a proven player of brets caliber is whats best for the organization ,is our best chance of winning .
yes he retired early Bret , said that was his falt , but his record showed he can do it . 13-3 for the season ,tied for MVP , 1 game from the super bowl .
Thanks Farve ,but we moved on. Go Away

I've got a great idea...Let's make a three-way trade and send Favre to Tampa Bay and in return, somehow get the unpredictable and flaky Grossman from the Bears. He can back the David Riske look-alike we now have in Green Bay. I mean who needs an offense when your defense is one of the best in the NFL. I am really looking forward to a return to mediocrity. Who needs another run at the Super Bowl?

Just when you thought it couldn't get any sillier:

You can track Favre's flight back home.

That, my friends, is the miracle of the Internet...

Hey Guys, did anyone notice that the flight is "scheduled" hasnt left as of yet as far as I can tell.

I was born and raised a packer fan, (1967-present) I have LOVED my pack, and will always back the Pack, BUT I have watched this all with a bitter taste in my mouth for how the "welcome back" has been played by this team that has ridden on the Favre performances for the last 17 years, MM, MM & TT really need to get it ALL straight, you dont welcome someone "Home" then act like u havent earned some doubt from a player of his caliber (and family) as well as the fans.

I question what is really going on behind closed doors.

I hope and Pray for all involved, that the correct decisions have been made, I really dont look forward to the dry years again, AR you have large shoes to fill, dont envy your position. TT, MM, & MM you had best hope you didnt mess this up for your ego's, you dont have as much talent to stand on as #4 has.

He's over Chicago now.

As long as he doesn't bail out with a parachute and land in the middle of the Bears' training camp, everything's fine...

What do the GB Packers
know about Favre that they ain't saying.

Come on. Think for a moment. You got this guy Aaron Rodgers,
and energetically speaking, in the game of his life he's got LESS
oomph than Brett Favre does when throwing passes to a group
of high school kids. The contrast is unremarkable.

Favre may be 38, he may have retired, or something close to it,
five or six times - but the fact is he did kick some serious
butt last year. So why would you offer him several millions to
NOT report. Why would you not let him compete for the starting
job. Afterall, the purpose of having an NFL franchise is simple:
TO WIN GAMES.

So why wouldn't you bring the guy back who has won more games
for your team than anyone else. Unless you know something you're
not saying.

It cannot be the "We want new blood" excuse either. New blood is
fine, when it's ready to outshine the old blood.

glassman, you can look at this another way as well, what does Brett know about the Packers that they dont want aired?

The whole thing with him not allowed in the locker room, or anywhere near the team since his return, something stinks in GB, and it isnt the meat packing plant.

I have wondered what is up with the hokey-pokey the team has done in recent years, I love my Pack, but something is majorly wrong up there, has been for some time.

Top it off take a look at the stats for Brett, he is at the top of ALL the Stats.

I can understand when a person is forced out when they are non-performers heck we have had enough of them at the Packers we are really used to it, but this is all rather funky to say the least.

Well Pip, You have really lost my respect spouting the company line "Move forward". Brett is coming off the second best year of his career, as you have said he is a sure Hall of Famer, and other teams are lining up to have him play for them. Do you remember the Packers of sixteen years ago? Going forward with Aaron sounds more like a "Move backwards". I hope the fans show their disappointment and disproval of the Team's decision by not attending games and not watching the Fox-six Favre-less Farce telecasts. How long did it take MLB to recover from the 1987 strike? Do we not learn from our mistakes?
