     The fact that the Brewers blew a 5-0 lead at Arizona--IN THE NINTH INNING, Thursday, was a disastrous way to wind up a solid road trip (5 and 5, versus 6 up, 4 down).

     Those are the kind of losses that could come back to haunt a team that may go down to the wire to earn a wildcard berth in the playoffs.

     More disturbing is the fact that the Crew needs relief help.

     Guillermo Mota's been awful lately, David Riske's been shaky since returning from the D.L.

     Eric Gagne's woes have been well-documented (10 million times), though it was nice to see him pitch a scoreless eighth inning in his return from the D.L.

     Is Salomon Torres the long term answer as closer?

     I'm talking come September and October.  

     These are facts of life for G.M. Doug Melvin to consider.

     While he's at it, Doug oughta check with Mister Attanasio about another bat and a starting pitcher.
