This is the weekend for the Packers rookie orientation (or minicamp).  I am personally interested in seeing Brian Brohm's arm strength and physical dimensions, as well as Jordy Nelson's advertised athletic ability and Justin Beaver's shot at earning a contract from his home-state team.  Last year, DeShawn Wynn did nothing to erase his reputation as an injury-waiting-to-happen and that stuck with him into the regular season.  John Stocco was a nice camp story, but obviously not strong enough to become an NFL player.  What are you interested in learning about this weekend ?

What am I interested in? How about getting this weekend over and proceeding to the real thing. Almost all of the "players" present at the orientation will be eligible for the Bonecrusher's roster soon. How many will make the Packer team - maybe six or seven. How many will make significant contributions in '08 - maybe one or two. It's not a lot to get excited over and I'm not a Packer fan. Other teams go through the same charade and then voluntary team work outs, then mini-camps, then training camp, then 4 or more exhibition (excuse me - preseason) games. One would think these guys are being prepared to perform brain surgery instead of play football, but I guess the teams have to justify the millions they take in and pay out to a select few.

I'm really interested in seeing the young talent develop on offense. I think whoever plays QB this year will have a lot to work with on offense. Should make the transition into the post-Favre era much easier.
