What a difficult post this is to write... But Packers fans, myself included, I think it's time we took the hint with all this Brett Favre- should I stay or should I go- and realize...  He doesn't want to play in Green Bay anymore.

The writing has been on the wall for awhile, and this just seals the deal... regardless of who is to blame, and I think there's plenty of that to go around... it seems pretty obvious that Brett doesn't want to play for the Green Bay Packers anymore.  And as hard as that is to say, even more so to actually believe... I think we all need to take the hint.

Tell that to the Packers Organization.

I can understand him saying he doesn't want to be a back-up, but look at it like this, he had to do it the one time he played for Atlanta and he got his shot.

He probably had to do it when he first came to Green Bay and when the one QB Captain got injured badly he took over from there and he became the star QB of the Packers.

Now Aaron Rodgers is leading the Packers now, and many do want Brett to come back as a leading QB, but he can't. But it's not to say and not like he still can't play because he can, but he just has to play as back-up. He will still get playing time, but at what expense would that be to him if he isn't equaled out to the same amount of time that Aaron Rodgers would be on the field?

Brett can fight that Release thing to the NFL Board and if they approve it and finalize him to be released and have his options explored with other teams, the Packers have no choice but to let him go elsewhere because regardless other teams are probably willing to pay him triple or quadruple to what he is getting now.

It's not about the money and it's not about adding to his records. All he wants to do is just "PLAY". P-L-A-Y...PLAY! And he wants to lead.

And regardless to wherever he goes, all NFL teams except for the team he would be playing for is going to be a threat to him because he has so much experience and so much QB talent that wherever he could go (if he decides to take that up to the board and that his release gets approved), he and his team of choosing will be a force to be reckoned with.

If he did go to another team, where do you think he would go:

Seattle (Seahawks), Minnesota (Vikings), Chicago (Bears), Atlanta (Falcons), Washington (Redskins), Baltimore (Ravens)--Who Knows.

But whatever happens, something tells me that Green Bay is going to try and match up an offer that will try to keep Brett on the team and that isn't going to happen unless he's playing and if he's not playing, he will not be part of the team.

Please belive when I say this that even if he doesn't stay with the Packers if they do decide to let him come back and he goes to another team, the fans will still respect him and follow him wherever he goes and whoever he plays for and I guarantee that 100%.

Its not that Farve doesn't want to play in Greenbay anymore... it's that Thompson basically made it impossible to play in Greenbay.

he has said he wanted to come back, and Farve said he was told, without a doubt, the answer was NO.

He was also told they would NOT release him to play for another team.

This is Thompson and the Packers. Not Farve's desire to leave us. I just wish THOMPSON would make up his mind. Either keep him or let the poor man go to do what he loves.

I've summed up my feelings about this on my recent blog on this subject, so I'll leave it at that. ^_^

I completely agree with the last post. Thompson is stuck on his boy Aaron Rogers. Myself and many others realize that Farve wants to play in Green Bay where he belongs and if for some reason Thompson would allow his release, we'd follow him where ever he goes.

The name is FAVRE people...if you're such big fans, learn how to spell it!

Hey Cheesehead, so what if people spell it wrong. Spelling is not a prerequisite to fandom. Being that upset by it is more on the border of obsession.

FARVE (just to annoy you) probably gets it all the time. At least people who spell it Farve are pronouncing it right unlike those who call him Fav-ray which probably annoys him more.)

if you were a true fan, you'd worry less about people spelling his name wrong, and more about the fact he's being treated crappily by the organization he's worked so hard to get where it is, and by the fans who've turned on him without considering the organization's fault in this situation.

The dude wants to play. He made the choice to retire, and realized afterwords it was probably a big mistake.

Kinda how if you breakup with a boyfriend or girlfriend, then realize you made a mistake and do all you can to win him or her over again.

The economy isn't going to fall because he wants to play again. Gas won't go up more because FARVE (just to annoy you) goes to another team.

If people want to stop being played with, tell Thompson to either let him play or let him go, and to treat him fairly.

And shame on fans for turning on him because he realized he made a human mistake for retiring from something he didn't want to leave.

THAT'S more important than spelling his name right on a blog.

Brett Favre has done more for the Packers than Ted Thompson could ever dream doing, and in 5 years the name Aaron Rodgers will mean no more to Packer Fans than T. J. Rubley. If your trying to make a name for yourself Mr. Thompson, I'm afraid you already have! Brett should stay, Thompson should go.

The problem with the hint we are supposed to be taking, is it is the same as the news we are usually being given. It is all bought and payed for by someone. Brett has been a Packer for way to long to walk away so easily, that's why he is being pushed from so many directions. Listen to many, but believe few.
