Is it just me or has your school-aged child been driving you nuts lately, too?  My son is 10 and in the 4th grade.  I'm starting to think it must be a fever for the end of the school year because he can't concentrate on anything, and his brain is always somewhere else!  If I'm going nuts now, I can't imagine what it will be like when he's really home for summer!  Is your kid like this too?

I have an 8 yr. old. Behavior is "DITTO"

Kids are just counting down the days..........

Makes year round schooling seem like a pretty good idea doesn't it?

The insanity is just beginning!!
Wait until the teen years....bwahahahahaha!!
I have no sanity left.
Just ask the ones who drove me insane.
My kids are 20, 15 and 11.
My 20 year old female is back at home after a bad relationship break up, she sleeps all day and works at night. I hardly ever see her, but when I do she's fighting with her brothers.
My 15 year old son is in major puberty and is struggling in school.
"Why do I have to learn this?"
"This is stupid."
My 11 year old is nicknamed "Sir Chatalot" because he is ALWAYS talking.
I can't complain too much. They haven't gotten into any real trouble, they try to help around the house and , for the most part, they are really good kids.
All I wonder is, do we get our sanity back when they move out??

He probably has the fever. By mid-August you'll be celebrating the beginning of school again.

Hey Tami! It is the end of the year. You haven't noticed this in years past? LOL. I am counting down the days because I hate this crazy schedule. Three kid in three different schools. And all have different days off too. sigh......

Anyway, I can't complain because I think I am just as bad as the kids when it comes to the end of the year. I can honestly say I love summer vacation! That is why I would be a terrible home school mom.

Yes this is very true! I think part of it is too that the teachers have things to teach yet but it's that time of year again for nothing but field trips. My daughter has been on 2 field trips (1 last week and 1 this past Tuesday) and still has 2 more to go on. Next week I think she's in the classroom for only 1 day and they have to go all week! As for summer guess what we're going on a vacation and then she's back in school for summer school. There is never enough time not to learn.

I hate Summer vacation because I work days, which is fine when they are in school, but when they are home it isn't so great.
They call me at work a couple of times a day to have me solve the latest arguement, they have friends come over and then call me to ask if their friend can come over and when I get home it's a mess. It becomes pretty annoying.
We have some fun little vacations that help. Usually I send the husband Upnorth with the boys to bond....and GO AWAY.
Remember, mine are older and my house has become the place to hangout. I really need to stop being so nice.
