My husband and I haven't even received the official "rebate" but we went crazy at Menard's this weekend, just with our state return!  I didn't think we would, but it was sortof nice to spend a little and not feel a horrible sense of guilt and doom.  The purse strings have definitely been tight around the Hughes home.  Though I definitely will spend some of the rebate paying off debt, I might actually buy something nice for once.  How about you?

Hi Tami -- Your not the only one's who went crazy this weekend!! My husband and I both play the guitar soooooo we took our WHOLE State return to Guitar Center and dropped well over a grand!!! I must agree with You, It was nice not having any guilt!! However, we put our Fed.return in the savings account and the offical rebate will be split between our 2 daughter's college funds - well our oldest is in college and she will be using her half to pay for some summer courses BUT Dad and I plan to buy something special for each of the girls
and suprise then -- ohhhh crud -- hope Your not reading this Ash -- or Your in BIG TROUBLE LOL!!!!! As for my husband and I we would like to take a "mini-vacation" but we will probably pay a few bills instead -- more responsible, after all we each bought a guitar but ya never know.............LOL Have a Great Day Tami!!! The Government had to borrow the money they are "giving" away. It "will" have to be paid back with interest.
It never ceases to be amazing what people will fall for. Remember the adage, "If it looks too good to be true, it usually is"?

I am planning to do work around the house - get a couple of things fixed up. Maybe finish paying the car off. Will see.....

Mine will go in the bank, as it will not be the full amount anyway. I work too much, made too much, so people who don't work get my share.

I don't get one either. I don't qualify. Even if I did, it would just go in my gas tank anyway.

I have to pay back Ez Loan for borrowed cash that has a value of 22% interest rate every two weeks. That price will be $400.00 I owe back. Now that is a waste.

Loripav...stay away from those places!!!! Go without for a few days til payday!! Eat mac and cheese, skip the movies, walk instead of drive...but STAY AWAY FROM THESE LEGAL CON ARTISTS!!!

I heard a "TEASER" about the direct deposit rebates being a problem, I never saw the story about the teaser,it was on today. Did anyone else see this? Thanks

New seat covers for the car we will be moving into. Seriously, we are trying to figure out what would be our best use of our rebate.
