I got a rare, and very nice message today from a viewer.  I came back to my desk after the 11 AM news and there was a message on my phone.  Right away, I know it's a viewer, and I'm thinking, "Oh boy, what did I say this time?"  or "What horrible thing am I wearing?" 

Well, much to my surprise, it was a man thanking me for making him smile.  He thought something I said during the show was funny and he called to thank me for giving him a smile today.  Isn't that kind?  I never get calls like that, and frankly I think we don't hear enough of that from most of the people in our lives.  So I wanted to thank the man for thanking me, I made his day, and he just made mine.

You're right Tami...I don't think news people hear it enough. So please accept what I am about to say as my thank you to you and all of the other news people;

I think that ya'll do a terrific job! I don't think enough people show you appreciation for what it is that you do. They sure can jump in and criticize when they find fault, but rarely, if ever, tell you thank you for bringing us our news. So, thank you! Keep up the good work!

Thats great, I was in a particularly foul mood last week. The kind where the wife just gives me space, when Teds Take came on, the one where he told the guy from Franklin who thinks the news in cahoots with Mitchell field to under report snow totals. I got quite a chuckle from that, kinda made my mood better.

Thanks guys, really I wasn't fishing for complements, but only trying to say we don't love or appreciate our "neighbors" enough. It's just nice to hear sometimes that you're appreciated, you know? No matter who says it.

But thanks for the kudos, we couldn't do our jobs without great viewers or bloggers like you!

This reminds me of yesterday morning, when Nicole, Kim and Rob came on. Somebody mentioned that it was April Fool's Day, then in turning it over to Rob for the weather, Nicole (without missing a beat) goes, "Speaking of fools..."

I thought that was hilarious. Mostly because you guys, no matter the combination, just seem to work so well together on the air. Now, off the air I can't speak on! :)
