No, I, unfortunately, never had the pleasure or privilege of meeting Mr. Favre but he was a big part of sparking my interest in the Packers.

Before moving to Wisconsin, I had been a lukewarm football fan at best. I never had a chance to play the game much as a kid. Partly because the sun rises and falls on the hockey rink in Canada but also because our school was a rugby school because funding just wasn't there for football. I followed the Argos (CFL) and the Bills as the closest NFL team but the sport never really got my pulse going.

That changed when I moved here and it changed quite quickly.

My first full season following the Pack was during the same time that I was spending long hours renovating my basement. I would put the radio or the little portable TV on in the background and hammer away. The first few weekends, it was background noise. After a couple of games though, the hammering would pause at the snap would then intensify with either frustration or elation depending how the play went. I have never been a big sports fan so I even surprised myself when I noticed how much I was getting into the game.

By the end of this season I was jumping around, doing what we've called the "touchdown dance" with my kids as we watched the Packers in an amazing playoff run!

For me, Brett Favre was a HUGE part of catching Packer-fever. He was a joy to watch. He played the way we all dream of playing when we're tossing the football around in the backyard and doing our own play by play. He made it fun to be a fan and he made it easy to wear a cheesehead with pride!

Thanks Brett!

My first season with the pack was right after I moved back to Wisconsin, we went to the Super Bowl XXXI and won! wooo after that I was hooked something about the excitement with Brett as quarterback, Reggie White, Sapp, Donald Driver, and many others throughout the years was so fantastic. Favre like you for me was a Huge reason for catching the Packer Fever too sure gonna miss #4

I couldn't agree more. One of the things that impressed me about Brett the most is that despite appearing to be a "hill-billy", he is quite a philosophical person. I really admire the fact that Favre knows who he is as a person. I think the happiest people in this world are those who know who they are and are presently engaging in activities that they were born to do. Clearly, Brett was born to play quarter back for the Green Bay Packers. So, kudos to Brett!! As a life long Wisconsite, I will deeply miss him at quarterback (e.g., I was just out of junior high barely when he started playing qb for the Pack), but I know that it is in the best interests of himself and his family that he retire at this time.

A long, long, time ago in a farmers field far, far away, Rob noticed a change in the wind and became fascinated with the weather. Why you ask? (Pause for you to say "why?") Well, it was at that moment he realized he was downwind of the manure pile on the turkey farm where he grew up! After that he watched the weather very carefully in an effort to save his sense of smell! Okay, that's not entirely true but I did grow up on a turkey farm and I have been fascinated with weather and broadcasting for quite some time. I began my career in radio before making the jump to TV. I worked on Good Morning Toronto. After that, I decided to pursue my dream of living and working in the U.S. and joined Wake Up Rochester in Rochester NY. I spent three years in "Bills Country" before coming to my senses and moving to "Packer-Town!" (GO PACK!) I also spent some time trying to make it big as a comic actor and studied the art of improvisation at Toronto's Second City Theatre with teachers like SCTV's Joe Flaherty! I moved here with my beautiful wife, Tanya, who's the real comedian in the family, my son Noah, who's giving my wife a run for the title of funniest Haswell and my daughter Nyla who is the cutest 2 feet of human being you could ever meet! We're very excited to be living in the great city of Milwaukee and we're looking forward to learning all there is to know about Wisconsin! By the way, where do you buy those cheesehead hats anyway?
