OMG!!! there were a lot of bees on that tree. I was watching this last night on the news and it was freaking me out when that bee keeper was brushing them down the tree with no gloves on. YUCK/OUCH!!!!

Gee here I go again.... it was just a swarm of bees. In the center of the swarm is the queen... where she goes... go the bees. Its late in the season and the bees are at peak population in their hives. They are genetically disposed to make a queen and split the hive when they are too crowded or there is not eought food.

This is the time that wasps begin to bug our sodas picnics, and porches... hopefully these honeybees don't get a bum rap for being aggressive when all they were doing was trying to find a new home and stay alive for next spring.

Did you see how easily the beekeeper was able to spray sugarwater on them and calmly sweep them into a wooden bee box? They aren't aggressive unless you go after their honey or their queen.

I'm a beekeeper and they are really amazing creatures... we could learn alot about our society by watching theirs.

EEEeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkk!

EEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just stunned. I have issues with only three living things in this world:

1) Celebrities
2) Centipedes
3) Stinging insects.

So if you had Nicole Richie covered in centipedes being chased down the street by a swarm of hornets, I guarentee you I'd be outta there in about 1 second flat.

I'm seriously shuddering right now. That's just wrong!

I used to kill bugs all the time, until I discovered our cat Sassy loves to go after them. She and Maggie, our littlest cat, gang up on them and they're dead meat!

It's almost tempting to go out and get a cat, just for that reason alone. I had a cat years ago, but I don't miss the litterbox smell. I cleaned and bleached the box dail;y, but could still smell the box. I couldn't handle that. I can walk into anyone's house and tell if they have a cat.

I am not an insect person period, so if there were a nest/hive near my house and there was a chance my children could be in harms way, well then bye bye bees. My neighbor went the bee keeper route and had to wait over a week for the bee keeper to come to her house (they were dive bombed just walking out their door). I bet Orkin, or Terminex would have gotten there quicker.

A can of starter fluid and a lighter would handle them buggers!

Not if the hive is attached to your house. Then you'd have bigger problems. LOL!

But at least the bees would be gone! LOL!

A CO2 firextingisher works great. Freezes them long enough to go ninja on them with a snow shovel. Makes for great home movies too!

Go ninja on them with a snow shovel. LMAO!!!! I had a Yellow Jacket nest under my siding this summer. The kids couldn't even walk by that part of the house. It made cutting the grass very interesting. We had to get rid of it because I felt it was an unsafe situation for my kids.

Greenlawn, my neighbors would have had me committed if I would have been outside doing ninja moves on the side of my house with a fire extinguisher and a snow shovel.
For some reason, a straight jacket comes to mind. LOL

You have to be extremely careful when dealing with these bees and hornets. When we were still living in Muskego, a whole slew of these yellow jackets got behind the siding and wriggled their way into the house. They were traveling through a cold air return and into my daughter's (SadItalianEyez) room. One day we opened the door to her bedroom and there were HUNDREDS of these bees flying around. My husband ended up getting 27 bee stings killing them that day. He did manage to kill them all off with a bug bomb, but he also had to go to the hospital and get treated with shots for the stings. After that, we went over the house with a fine-toothed comb and caulked every possible entry way for bees.

Upnorth in my neighborhood I find it benificial that the neighbors think you're crazy, well armed, and an expert at covert operations!

Ya know Greenlawn, I think your on to something, because I certainly wouldn't approach a Ninja brandishing a fire extinguisher and a shovel. LOL

As long as THEY think I'm nuts, everything works out fine. I'm looking on ebay for a fake blow up Howitzer, to put in the back yard, next to the birdfeeder. Walking around the yard in fatiuges helps too.

A long, long, time ago in a farmers field far, far away, Rob noticed a change in the wind and became fascinated with the weather. Why you ask? (Pause for you to say "why?") Well, it was at that moment he realized he was downwind of the manure pile on the turkey farm where he grew up! After that he watched the weather very carefully in an effort to save his sense of smell! Okay, that's not entirely true but I did grow up on a turkey farm and I have been fascinated with weather and broadcasting for quite some time. I began my career in radio before making the jump to TV. I worked on Good Morning Toronto. After that, I decided to pursue my dream of living and working in the U.S. and joined Wake Up Rochester in Rochester NY. I spent three years in "Bills Country" before coming to my senses and moving to "Packer-Town!" (GO PACK!) I also spent some time trying to make it big as a comic actor and studied the art of improvisation at Toronto's Second City Theatre with teachers like SCTV's Joe Flaherty! I moved here with my beautiful wife, Tanya, who's the real comedian in the family, my son Noah, who's giving my wife a run for the title of funniest Haswell and my daughter Nyla who is the cutest 2 feet of human being you could ever meet! We're very excited to be living in the great city of Milwaukee and we're looking forward to learning all there is to know about Wisconsin! By the way, where do you buy those cheesehead hats anyway?
