John Coleman, former meteoroligist for WLS in Chicago and founder of the Weather Channel, is speaking out against global warming.  Here is the opening paragraph of an article posted at the ICECAP (International Climate and Environmental Change Assessment Project) website:

"It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create an allusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the “research” to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus. "

The way I look at it is, only God knows weather (pun intended) it is a scam or not.

Dollars and sense wise - suggestions to prevent global warming makes a lot of sense. Why fight the system, when you can attempt to save money and garbage space at the same time.

If global warming suggestions work and prevents Global Warming - great -- if it doesn't - have you lost anything.

I agree. I believe global warming doesn't exsist. However I do believe we need to research alternative energy sources and find ways to conserve our natural resources to reduce pollution and increase the quality of life here and abroad.

I saw that someplace else. Interesting. I'm not surprised that Coleman is coming out and saying this. I'm coming more and more to agree with those who say tht global warming has become almost a religion. Any debate is met with ridicule and invective. It is almost a mirror of evolution in that if you merely question it you are in deep doo-doo with the "learned scientists" (read: elders of the faith). Yet, in spite of that, many scientists that had previously signed on to the IPCC statement are starting to back away from science by consensus. I just wish that our school kids, instead of being hammered with "global warming is settled science" would be exposed to the thought that it is still a matter under considerable scientific debate and research. ??? If most of the temp records that are broke are from the 1800's, does that mean there was global warming back then also ??? I just filled my heating oil barrel last Friday to the tune of $756.00, come on global warming where ever you are.......

Did any of you guys do a bit of reserch on how much money it will cost or what the plans are to fix it? Or are you just assuming it does not exist or will cost too much based on ideology?

HOW LONG HAS THE EARHT BEEN AROUND? how long have we been recording data about weather? Global warming is a bunch of you know what! the hole in the ozone has been there as long as we have known about it and it grows and shrinks over time. so in the grand scheme of things (the earths lifetime) makes anyone think the planet is not doing what it always does?
