If you are like my family, there are some Christmas movie you watch every year, without fail. My family's is Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase, probably the funniest Christmas movie ever made. We also try to catch a version of A Christmas Carol on TV. And, on Christmas day, I will watch A Christmas Story, the greatest Christmas movie ever, several times.
What are yours?

This poem is not by me, but by one of my favorite poets, W. B. Yeats. This is my favorite poem of all time. Like all great poems, this takes more than one read to grasp it, but luckily it is short. I have probably read it close to a hundred times, and parts of it still puzzle me. That is what makes it great. I did a 6 page paper on this poem in my Brit Lit class. Enjoy.
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

The massive room is full of people.
Majestic chorus floats through the air.
This holy place is sacred.
This is the home of God.
You can tell from the ornate decorum
And the rich façade that surrounds.
Oh, surely, God lives here.
Look around, can’t you tell?
The ceiling is high
And the space is massive.
Surely this cage can hold God.
Look down, see the men walking?
Their robes flow in glory.
Some a blood red that assaults the eye.
A man walks in the front in pompous garb.
Tall hat and lavishly rich robes
Stream behind he who is closest to God.
Urns swing behind, emitting fragrant smoke
As he who is closest to God takes
His seat on his godlike throne.
Surely this is the house of God,
If you believe walls can contain Him.
And surely this man can talk to God,
Just look at how he is dressed.
But the cloth only conceals the man
He is beneath, like us all.

Somewhere, at this very moment in time, there is a snowball in Hell, and it is not melting. I agree with the Republicans on this bailout business. I don't think they should give them the money, it won't fix anything. They will just be back asking for more next year. The first bailout has shown no impact, no reason to think this one will.

I hear God in the bird’s song,
And the wind that can be heard all day long.
I see God in the setting sun,
And in majestic animals as they run.
I feel God in the falling rain,
And in the snow that falls much the same.
I smell God when fresh flowers bloom,
And in the smell of rain to descend soon.
All these things God is for me.
He is what I can hear, smell, feel, and see.
My belief does not require pages from a book.
All I need to do is go outside and take a look.

So, apparently Obama bought a bazillion dollar ring for his wife. Bad Obama! How dare you spend your money on jewelry? I don't know anyone who does that! And buying it for your wife? You selfish bastard! You should have bought it for the American people! And then I hear it isn't even an American made diamond! How dare you!? I know if it was me, I would have run down to the locally owned and operated diamond mine!
Shame, shame, shame on you Obama!!!

Let me preface this by saying I have been blissfully ignorant on what has been going on politically in this country, so if something has happened in that time, I don't know about it.
This whole idea of bailing out the auto industry is just more BS. I was somewhat supportive of that initial 700 billion bailout, because I idiotically thought that maybe the government would do something right for a change. HA! This auto bailout just reeks of idiocy. The auto industry has had this coming. Make a better product, problem solved. There is a reason those foreign cars sell like hotcakes. They are BETTER! Oh, and lets not forget those ownderful unions who are responsible for getting ASSEMBLY LINE workers 30+ dollars an hour. Seriously, who thought that was a good idea? Maybe if the auto industry had grown a pair and said no to that nonsense, they wouldn't be in such a huge mess. Not to say they wouldn't be in a mess at all. . . the crappy product would still be an issue.
Anyways, thats my thoughts. Take them with a spoonful of salt.
Mut-Mut.

I made a blog a few weeks ago about how I thought we needed to do away with the electoral college. I got many responses saying how idiotic that idea was, but I am sticking to it. This latest election just once again proves my point. Obama got 70% of the electoral college, but 52% of the popular.

As some of you may have noticed, the blogger tagalong68 seems to be posting this in comments, and made his own blog:Subject: This is terrible!!
The
following is a narrative taken from Sunday Morning's televised>
'Meet The Press' and the author is employed by none other than the>
Washington Post!!
>
> From Sunday's Televised 'Meet the Press' Senator Obama was asked
> about his stance on the American Flag. Obama Explains National Anthem
> Stance Sun, 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked
> Obama to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is
> played. The General also stated to the Senator that according to the United
> States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171... During rendition of the
> national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in
> uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right
> hand over the heart. At the very least, 'Stand and Face It'
>
> Senator Obama Live on Sunday stated:
>
> 'As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as
> taking sides, Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in the world to whom
> the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a
> war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be
> swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song
> 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might
> salute it.'We should consider to reinvent our National Anthem as well as to
> redesign our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It's my
> intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our
> Middle East Brethren. If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct
> ourselves as the nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails. Perhaps a state
> or period of mutual concord between our governments. When I become
> President, I will seek a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those
> who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting
> oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon the nations of Islam an
> unfair injustice. My wife disrespects the Flag for many personal reasons.
> Together she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the
> past, many years ago. She has her views and I have mine'. Of course now, I
> have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I
> have put aside my hatred. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this
> Nation, and offer the people a new path of hope. My wife and I look forward
> to becoming our Country's First Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm
> the United States of America.'
>
> WHAAAAAAAT the Hell !!!
>
> Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it right. This could possibly
> be our next President.
> I, for one, am speechless.

Too bad it is all FALSE! Made up trash by conservatives still trying to smear Obama. Bunch of sore losers who need to move to Canada.
Tagalong seems a fitting name, since that seems to be what you do. Just tag a long with the conservative with whatever lie they put out next.

If all you conservatives are racist, why do you constantly feel the need to try and convince everyone you aren't racist? Usually, when a person knows they aren't something they generally don't go around defending themselves, ESPECIALLY when accusations aren't even made. I'm not gay. I don't feel the need to constantly prove I'm straight. So, why then do all you conservatives constantly feel the need to say you aren't racist? Well, here is my answer. You ARE a bunch of RACISTS!

I keep reading how people will leave the country because Obama is President. And, man, nothing would make me happier. Please, get the hell out. The less hateful, ignorant, bigoted, religious nut-jobs in this country the better!

My dad yesterday related a rather disturbing tale from his workplace. His boss came in repeating over and over, "This country is f***ed now!" It seems he does not like black people. Throughout the day, jokes were being made, with various watermelon references. . . Serosuly, the watermelons being on sale joke is now old, and was never funny. So, my dad held his tongue and listened to the hate being spewed by many of his coworkers. This hate took him by surprise. He always knew his coworkers were a little racist. Hell, we live in Belleville. If you're white, and you live in Belleville, chances are you're racist. But he was surprised to find how racist anyone is. Finally, my dad's boss made the following comment: "Oh well, it doesn't matter. He'll get a bullet through the head soon enough." So, my dad asked him a simple question, and that question was, did you vote? No, his boss said. What would it have mattered? It wouldn't have changed anything. It turns out, none of the racists ignorant BLEEP voted. While this display of open racism is troubling, at least we now know the racists are too ignorant to vote.

I love this. Now, since people are posting inane and idiotic things about Obama, they ask why thier blogs are getting deleted. Bringing up the first amendment, comparing the Fox 2 webmasters to Nazis, and other idiotic crap. Now, since it is the conservative blogs getting deleted, and the conservative bloggers gagged, you pitch a fit?
Let me tell you something. I have had blogs deleted, been gagged more than a few times, and EVERY time it was due to something LIBERAL I said. And, you know why? Because it was most likely idiotic and innapropiate. But did anyone stick up for me? No. I seem to remember more than a few of you jerks being happy. So, screw you. Quit your whining. It is not because you are conservative. It is because you did something stupid.

I found a recent interview on the Colbert Report very interesting. We all know conservatives are using the word socialism to characterize Obama. Well, did you know that there is an official Socialist party in America? And did you know they have a candidate for president? His name is Brian Moore, and he says Obama is not where near being a Socialist. Socialists want to have all banks, and essentially all money, controlled by the government and the people, and have the people decide what to do with the money. Obama, to socialists, is a strict capitalist.
