A Slice of Life

While writing this, I was trying to think of which category to put this in because it is about entertainment or not being able to access that entertainment, BUT it is no news that this is a problem. So I decided on news.

So, I wake up this morning at 6:45 because my phone is ringing. I go to pick it up and it is dead. SO, a minute later, it rings again. I pick it up and once again, nothing. So now I am ticked. I am woken up to a ringing phone but have no idea if something is wrong, a number was dialed wrong, or my carpool is not going to work out today.

So I call my provider and tell the person who answers the phone that I am not very happy and maybe it might be good for a manager to talk to me. She says that she can handle me. Then she asked me my pin number. Ok, I will admit that in all the years I have had the services of this particular company, I for the life of me do not know my pin number, and have never been interrogated as I was this morning.

So she then asks for my phone number. I give it. She asks for my address, I give it, she asks for my social security number (ok, it isn't even 7am yet and I am already ranting about my phone not working, and she had all of the info she needed) So I guess I crossed a line when I asked her if she would rather have my blood.

She was not amused. I gave her the info and she made me take the time to pick a new pin number. She didn't care that the numer I picked was not very secure, I am sure that by now, she knows I am irritated, and is pushing me further.

Anyway, I told her I had a problem with my bill. I anybody read my last post about this company, they will know that this is not a good thing. She explained it to me, but I still am not convinced it is right, but just to shut her up and get to the problem of my phone not working, I told her she took care of it.

We get to the part of my phone not working and by now, I am on my cell phone with my regluar phone on intercom so that my husband (who was supposed to have already left for work) could take the time to go in the basement and do all of the stuff they tell you to do so that I can get the kids ready for school.

He is doing that, she made us verify the lights on the modem which by now, we know when they are normal or not normal. But my husband was good enough to do this for me so that I could get lunches made, hair done on the girls, papers for next year's registration........

She made us disconnect everything and then had us turn them on but told us to wait 5 minutes. I have never been told to wait that long by a tech with this neverending problem. Again, she knew we were in a hurry and I am sure that she took much delight when we were telling eachother how stupid this is and how ATT is looking better every day.

I told her that I wanted credit and that if this is going to be an ongoing problem, I want credit for every time I have to sit on the phone and play with my equipment (no smart comments here) Or wait 3 or more hours or them to call back when their automated system says 45 minutes.

So, while doing this, it is hard to juggle two phones and make a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich and my cell phone ends up in the jar of peanut butter. I am not pleased. At least we were near the end of that jar so in the garbage it went, and I am still using toothpicks to get the peanutbutter out of my phone. (and no, you may not laugh at me until enough time passes when I can look back and laugh.)

So then I tell this tech or customer service rep because I really don't know who I am talking to, that it got so bad that one of the managers actually gave me his cell phone number if I had anymore probelms. That was a year ago, but of course that number went right on my phone list. So this is her answer. "well, if he gave you his cell phone number than call it" If I am this guy, I want her head.

I also told her that I did have the number to the office of the president and that was my next call. Anyway, 40 minutes later, my phone is working for now, and I did call that office. I explained to the person I spoke with where I lived and my problems I was having. She told me that her office was the office of the president of Time Warner and that we needed to talk to our local office. So I told her that I already did and that this is the number we have plastered all over our local blogs.

She told me that she would make sure that the president of our area would call me back. In the meantime, I got a phone call back from the cell number I used at her request and explained the whole situation again. Now this person is a manager of the tech people and he remembered me from a year ago.

I told him that I wanted more than a dollar credit on my bill and my stuff to work. I also told him that if he were to come to this site, he would see what people were saying. He said it would be interesting to see, but he knows nothing about blogs. So I did dig up two of the blogs and e:mailed the links to him.

So I am still waiting on another call, and I do have a tech comming out to the house at MY convenience, so maybe this time????

So, can you guess who I am talking about?

And in case anybody forgot my other blog about this company here is the link.

I am married to a great guy and a mom of three. Our kids are spread out in ages so we have one in preschool, one in first grade and one in his first year of middle school. We spend alot of time on soccer fields and in dance studios but I wouldn't trade that in for anything. My favorite day of the week is Sunday because that is family day. I also love Friday nights after the kids go to bed. We love to take long weekends just to get away. Usually we end up at waterparks, but we all love the water so it is great. I love to eat out. Without the kids is best, but we do go out for lunch as a family every Sunday. It is just our thing. I stay at home for the most part and spend my days working in my kids classrooms or just taking care of the every day things. I am here to meet other great people and moms like me.I write about my life because that is what I do. I love to share and while some people are all about politics or news.... My stage of life is all about me and my family. So most of my blogs are going to be just that. This year, we welcomed our very first foreign exchange student into our home. It has been both a challange and a blessing. I am happy to have him and practicing for when my own children get to be that age. I will admit that it is scary having a high school student as a child of mine because of the freedom I need to allow, but I am learning to let go and be watchful but not overbearing on him. This is going to be an interesting year..
