A Slice of Life

I am looking out my window and the snow in my front yard is so pretty. Glittering in the sun, no footprints or anything in it. It is too deep to let my kids in it. They can't even walk through the yard.

Everybody is complaining about the snow and I am sick of shoveling it and not being able to just go out and enjoy my yard. So, what is everybody going to do when it is gone and we can sit outside with a drink or in front of a fire, or just under a tree with a book.

Do you have your plans made yet? I do. I plan on spending as much time outside with my kids as possible. I plan on cutting my grass every week and loving it. I plan on taking long walks after dinner, and taking my kids to the park to play in the hot sand.

I am longing for summer so that I can open my windows and cook on my grill without freezing. I want to hear the birds chirping. Well all but that nasty little woodpecker who likes my rain gutter above my bedroom window. Maybe he will find a new place to make noise. But other than that, all other birds are welcome.

Anybody else care to share their sunshine plans?

i cannot wait to do some golfing this summer. but i want to start breaking out my golf clubs about early spring and get them in good shape. i want to try some challanging new golf courses this year. i cannot wait to go golfing again with my dad's side of the family as well.
when it warms up this spring, maybe start a garden with only watermelon and potatoes. if you do not want weeds, you can buy a roll of black stuff from menards. when you put the black plastic in the garden, you will have no weeds and it will keep the ground warm.
i amy even have my mother cut my hair on the patio this year so that she does not have to clean the bathroom.
also when it warms up this summer, i cannot wait to lay in the hammock on my deck in my swimsuit. i cannot to do some sun bathing as well. maybe have some mixed drinks out on the deck during the weekends. or during the week, if i have soda, pop open a nice cold diet coke,
as always, mrstracy, you did a great job on the posting of this blog. one of the bloggers was on the studio cam chat not too long ago.

Fishing! Long days at the pistol range! Grilling out doors! Trips! Air shows! Hiking, fishing, and horseback riding in the Colorado mountains! I can't wait!

I absolutely can not wait to set up all my patio furniture, light the torches, the fire pit and get the grill going. We spend most of our time from spring to fall on our patio and I soooo miss it.

I so wish I had a patio and fire pit. I can't wait to go up north and just sit in the quiet of nature. I love looking out over the lake, but it is a quiet lake.

I plan on tanning, grilling out, spending time with family on the patio, remodeling, playing with the dogs outside, gardening, more tanning, landscaping, cleaning out the garage, sitting outside and watching the kids play in the pool and making ready for my newest grandchild that will be here by the end of Summer!

Funny thing...just last night I was dreaming of golf clubs and I don't golf, the Harley-Davidson 105th Anniversary, the County Executives Ride to promote tourism & Summerfest. Really!

Ummm, well, I do have to say that with trying to keep heating costs down, I have been drinking lots of hot things and I have learned how to make wonderful sugar free fat free lattes. So there is my silver lining. But I am with you jibini, I want my grass back. I want hot sand to sink my toes into, and I want thunderstorms and leaves blowing in the wind. I wish I could move but then I think about it and we really do have it good here. No hurricanes or aligators like southern states. No scorpions or things like that. Our only downfall is that sometimes winter can be harsh and this year, it reminded us of how it used to be.

I am enjoying the snow this year, it has been long overdue... this will also help with the droughts...I hate heat!

I finally gave in and turned my heat up!!! This winter has just seemed so long. Both kids were sick about two weeks ago and I felt bad for them trying to lounge around on the sofa and watch movies and all bundled up so I turned to heat up to 67 and then I got use to it. Now I decided just to leave it at 67 and pray for spring!

I am already searching on-line for mosquito killing machines for the back yard! I don't want anything keeping us from enjoying this spring and summer.

Vanessa, is the church by your store Eastbrook? Your church is way far. If it is Eastbrook, it is more than interesting. Come visit! My daughter is in choir and has to sing one Sunday during lent so while I am down there for all three services, maybe I will be able to take the time and do some exploring and find your store if it is that close. I don't know the area all that well, but I can get to some places.

You know what? I think that your shop is very close to eastbrook because if I am thinking of the right area, we would have driven right past it to get to church. Once you are past bayshore, it is like a minute or two until you are at the church. They also have a coffee shop that used to be a bar. They named it Holy Grounds. I don't know the hours, but I think the coffee is Alterra, but again, I am not sure.

My shop is like one or two blocks from channel six,
Brown deer road, in brown deer.
Hmmm I will look it up, the holy grounds is a cute name!
My son loves christian coffee houses. He used to sing at one in west allis.

Really, how cool about your son. Ok, I am not sure of the name of the street I am thinking and I don't really know where the studios are, but when we take Lake Drive to church instead of the freeway, we go through shorewood, and then through another city and I don't know the street name, but I know the street. Maybe I am thinking Whitefish Bay. But whatever it is, it runs into Greenbay road which is where Eastbrook is. So maybe I won't go exploring because I think I have my cities mixed up.

MrsTracy

I am married to a great guy and a mom of three. Our kids are spread out in ages so we have one in preschool, one in first grade and one in his first year of middle school. We spend alot of time on soccer fields and in dance studios but I wouldn't trade that in for anything. My favorite day of the week is Sunday because that is family day. I also love Friday nights after the kids go to bed. We love to take long weekends just to get away. Usually we end up at waterparks, but we all love the water so it is great. I love to eat out. Without the kids is best, but we do go out for lunch as a family every Sunday. It is just our thing. I stay at home for the most part and spend my days working in my kids classrooms or just taking care of the every day things. I am here to meet other great people and moms like me.I write about my life because that is what I do. I love to share and while some people are all about politics or news.... My stage of life is all about me and my family. So most of my blogs are going to be just that. This year, we welcomed our very first foreign exchange student into our home. It has been both a challange and a blessing. I am happy to have him and practicing for when my own children get to be that age. I will admit that it is scary having a high school student as a child of mine because of the freedom I need to allow, but I am learning to let go and be watchful but not overbearing on him. This is going to be an interesting year..
