A Slice of Life

Today I was invited to chaperone a field trip for my 1st grade daughters class to go bowling. Of course I said yes because I hate to miss out on that. So here it is. ALL 75 kids were there and the whole bowling alley was taken over by these little people.

While it was fun, it was super duper noisy. Everytime my daughter got a spare or strike, I swear the whole city could hear her screaming and feel the ground shaking from her jumping up and down. But at least she wasn't the only one so it wasn't too bad.

But then, they turned off the regular lights and on went the black lights and the colored lights that circle. The whole place went wild. It took them a minute to discover that the lights made anything white look neon on them. Then they really went wild.

But we only had time for almost two games. My daughter broke 100 her first game and was in the 9th frame with 94 when they shut the lanes down. She was not happy with that, but got over it quick when we told her that she was done for the day and now on vacation.

I love field trips.

I hope you had some Tylenol with you! My husband and I both helped out at the Holiday parties at our sons school on Friday. He went to the 4-K class with Charlie and I was in with Anthony's K class. I love being at the school and I just found out as of last Wednesday I will have more free time to spend at school. I will not longer be babysitting for the little guy that I've had for 2 yrs. Lots of mixed emotions, I will miss him but I had wanted more time with the boys.

Oh gosh,I have been babysitting for 10 years and am waiting for the day I am done. I just can't tell the parents I am finished so I am waiting for them to all go to school. But I am not taking any new kids.

It was the same with me! I had two that I babysat and told them last spring that I needed to stop by the time school started. I ended up feeling too guilty and felt such an obligation to the one I've had since he was born that I caved and continued to babysit him. They happen to have a friend that got an opening so figured now would be a good time to jump on that opening. He lives close and I will visit, I love him and his parents are really great people too.

It is so hard to let them go, but once they are gone, a great relief. Very bittersweet

I am married to a great guy and a mom of three. Our kids are spread out in ages so we have one in preschool, one in first grade and one in his first year of middle school. We spend alot of time on soccer fields and in dance studios but I wouldn't trade that in for anything. My favorite day of the week is Sunday because that is family day. I also love Friday nights after the kids go to bed. We love to take long weekends just to get away. Usually we end up at waterparks, but we all love the water so it is great. I love to eat out. Without the kids is best, but we do go out for lunch as a family every Sunday. It is just our thing. I stay at home for the most part and spend my days working in my kids classrooms or just taking care of the every day things. I am here to meet other great people and moms like me.I write about my life because that is what I do. I love to share and while some people are all about politics or news.... My stage of life is all about me and my family. So most of my blogs are going to be just that. This year, we welcomed our very first foreign exchange student into our home. It has been both a challange and a blessing. I am happy to have him and practicing for when my own children get to be that age. I will admit that it is scary having a high school student as a child of mine because of the freedom I need to allow, but I am learning to let go and be watchful but not overbearing on him. This is going to be an interesting year..
