I think the American public on the whole is very traditional -- they like what is usual and customary -- therefore the $1 COIN will be (has been) a hard sell.

I, too,think it's time for the penny to go.

I would rather get rid of the $1 bill in favor of the coin. Most, if not all, of Europe has done away with the note and I can not remember any issues. It costs less and lasts longer.

The penny should go. I just read that it costs almost $0.03 to make one cent. This is waste and in a time when people want to cut back on Government spending I don't see why people would want to keep it.

Personally, I would much prefer to have coin than paper.

I think that the new dollars will be good for collecting they will have all the pres. in order that they served starting with George.4 per year..Hey mike I think you are right .03 to make a penny what a wast but big government is good at that..
