So after serving three days she was let out due to overcrowding.  Anyone else mad at the justice system?

That is the question my cousin was faced with this morning after her 8 year old daughter overheard the "Church Story" this morning.  My cousin answered truthfully being as tactful as she could, but then her curious daughter wanted to know what they looked like!  All this before 8 AM driving to school!  My cousin didn't want her daughter to innocently ask a teacher or friends on the playground, which I think is the right thing.  My question:  Do you think news stations should consider the younger audience that may overhear?   Afterall, a lot of Fox 6 watchers are turning 6!   Maybe a euphemism in this case?  Adult novelty?   Perhaps it was good because it opened up lines of communication.  I understand war and homocide cannot be sugarcoated and kids will eventually ask questions, but is it too young?  Parents do you let your kids watch the news?  At what age?

Instead of American Idol, did anyone watch Lost?  I thought it was brilliant!  The flash forward idea was genius!

Was anyone disappointed by the ending?  What? No cliffhanger?

Two weeks ago my mom and myself were at Kosciusko Park. We like bringing peanuts to the squirrels and watch their antics. We noticed a squirrel that seemed to have something around him, but I could not tell for sure because he was at a distance. He ran away before we could determine if anything was wrong. This morning my mom was at the park and noticed a squirrel at the base of a tree, not moving. He had met a gruesome demise recently. His body was still soft. Embedded in his skin were the plastic rings of a six pack soda container. My mom wrapped him up and brought him back home to bury. She also managed to cut off the plastic rings that crushed his organs and suffocated him. I feel guilty like I should have done something two weeks ago, but what? Called the DNR? Or wildlife center? What could have been done?  But this never should have happened. I’m sure many people would think I’m crazy caring for a squirrel--it's only a squirrel, many more--and write me off as a whack job. I know what a nuisance squirrels can be (my yard squirrels keep ripping up my bulbs!), but I was raised to respect all creatures. With summer picnics and camping not far off I wanted to give a reminder to please protect our wildlife. Please cut the plastic rings on soda packs, crush yogurt cups/peanut butter jars/etc. that can trap an animal, and pick up bottle caps that can be swallowed. You get the idea. No living, innocent, creatures deserve such an unavoidable death. As a side note - parents please teach your children compassion and respect toward our Earth and it’s creatures. I see so many children at parks terrorizing animals with sticks and rocks. Thank you for listening to my rant.

Earlier this week I was advised by neighbors that the bottom right corner of many rear license plates had been cut off on our block.  The person(s) responsible only wanted the "07" sticker to make a quick buck or avoid registration.  I have lived near Humboldt Park for a few years without incident.  I did some research and I found this is not uncommon.  I immediately filed a police report.  I was asked when the sticker was last there and when it went missing.  I would have honestly had no idea if my neighbors had not had the same thing happen and told me.  For $4 I will have new plates (and a new license plate #) in 3-4 weeks.  My rear plate will be in my back window or cozily tucked inside a heavy duty frame.  Please check your rear plate now and then to keep tabs on your tab!
