With new GM John Hammond watching the action Monday night at the Bradley Center, and the Bucks allowing the Bulls to shoot 67 percent and score 151 points, what are the chances Larry Krystkowiak will be retained as head coach? Zero. It's probably not fair to let Larry go after just one full season, but on a team that has lost 17 of its last 20, something has to change. Hammond will also shake up the roster. There is plenty of talent here, but the pieces don't fit.

That's my prediction about Larry K. I did a 50-50 split on my preseason prognostications on this blog. I said the Hawks would win the #8 spot in the East. Good for me! But I also said the Celtics would not be dominant. Not so good for me!

Playoff predictions shortly, but first, why did Don Nelson bench Baron Davis for the entire second half last night in Golden State's must win game against Phoenix? The Warriors who are quite common without the Baron, lost, were eliminated from the post season and had to be wondering what Nellie was thinking.

I'd love to see an old school Celtics-Lakers final but I'm, having trouble pulling the trigger on L.A. This is a team that lost back to back home games to Memphis and Charlotte last month. So I'm going with the Celtics and Utah. The Jazz are big, fast, deep and overlooked in the star-studded West. Plus Jerry Sloan, the longest tenured coach in major league sports, deserves another moment in the sun. Maybe the Bucks will get their moment next season.

Larry K. has absolutely got to go. I realize the NBA is a players league but there has to be at least a little control on the coach's part. Everyone who follows the Bucks in Wisconsin (and I'm beginning to wonder why they bother) knows the major lacking ingrediant is defense. The coach knows it, the players know it, the fans know it, and the opposition knows it. Larry K. couldn't get the players to play it. The game against the Bulls was an absolute embarrassment to the league. Two teams who abandoned the most important part of the game - defense. The fans should get their money back. That type of basketball could be viewed at muni rec league games or on any playground in the state. I don't know about the rest of you who participate in these blogs, but I know I won't be buying a Bucks ticket until they play the game as it should be played. Go Badgers - they work their butt off on defense.

Skeptical:

When's the last time the Bucks had a strong defensive team? Even during the "glory days" of George Karl, there wasn't much D. It would be a refreshing change to get some players for this club that played hard on both ends of the floor.
