Have you seen one of Hardee's newest menu additons to? A 900 calorie-plus burrito! That's right. 900-plus!!!!!! It looks gooey and flavorful. It should --- since that and a large soft drink will pretty much do it for your fat and calories for the day. A hungry day at that since it appears on the breakfast menu.

Julie, it is a 920 calorie burrito and I think it is great. What is the difference if you sit down and eat a monster breakfast or wrap it up and take it with you ? I can't wait for the food police to start whining over this one. All you do-gooders out there, if you don't like the idea of a 920 calorie burrito, don't buy it. I myself like a big breakfast and will try one. Within 24 hours you will see the Nanny's crying out for the extinction of Hardees newest. God forbid they would leave the decision of buying a burrito to a simple mortal man. Good job Hardees.

Hey Vokd --- everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion. With rising obesity rates and associated illnesses which can kill you --- a 920 calorie burrito probably isn't the healthiest choice --- but you're right --- it's a free country!

That's one BIG OL' BREAKFAST BURRITO. For those who are intending to eat that one day, I hope you plan on exercising off those calories as well, because you will never and I definitely NEVER catch me eating all that. Not only we don't have a Hardees in the city no more, the only ones that are left are like in Waukesha and Kenosha. Who in their right mind is going to travel to Kenosha or Downtown Waukesha just for a SUPER Meaty Breakfast Burrito? There are plenty of breakfast meals I can eat at another fast-food restaurant that are over 90 out of 100 times better than just one MONSTEROUS SIZE BURRITO and a BIGGEST SIZE DRINK and for a Breakfast Burrito that big, I hope you're getting a good deal out of that, because there is nothing more like that than you being in the Hospital, for too high of your calories.

After you eat that Burrito and wash it down with your drink, you're going to get too lazy to not want to do anything. It would look good without the egg and the cheese inside it, but the meats and hash brown would be fine and the size of the burrito could be like the size of the KFC Snacker Chicken Sandwich than what it is.

THANKS, BUT NO THANKS. I think I'll pass. My health is way too important to eat something that big and that is not that serious.

I do a pretty good job of avoiding any fast food places! However I will on occasion treat myself to fast food from time to time!

That breakfast burrito looks totally gross!
That thing looks like a heart attack waiting to happen!

Hardee's has never tried to hide the fact that thier food is full of fat and calories. In fact they seem to go the other direction and say "look at all this greasy, gooey, fat laden tastyness." That being said, if you make it a habit of eating things like that, you will shorten your life. I probably will never have one of those breakfast burrito's because I don't find myself inside fast food joints very often. Sometimes the urge to splurge does hit tho, and I'll get myself a monster burger or something, but like I said, I don't make a habit of it.

Plain old YUCK! I'm surprised they don't deep fry it after they wrap it all up. What's next?

Hardee's is all but extinct. I don't remember the last time I saw a Hardee's. I'm positive this burrito will save this food chain from extinction.

I'd rather eat a Burrito from Taco Bell than to see that greasy pound of everything in that thing. The last time I saw Hardees was when I was in 8TH Grade, they actually had two of them as I remember off of Port Washington Road and Silver Spring Drive and directly across the street for the FOX 6 News Station on Deerbrook and Brown Deer exactly in the Shopping Center.

You know where Applebees is at? That whole building (all the way from beginning to end) where it is at now was Hardee's before they tore it down and reconstructioned it into what it is today back in 2000-2001.

witiwebprod3 (AKA Chris), I know that is you and I know you know this is me. LOL! Ask anyone there now like Brad Hicks and Ted Perry or Vince Condella and Bart Adrian. As long as they been working their they should know...

that is way too much in one burrito. if you eat that for breakfast, you will not be hungry for the rest of the day. that burrito is not very healthy to eat at all. hardees should know better than that to put that as one of their products for breakfast.

I agree with what someone else said, Hardee's has always gone out of their way to offer the highest fat choices. I'm sure in some parts of America they are still very popular. I believe this is extreme for breakfast but if alot a America actually knew how much fat and calories they consumed they would be shocked!

Not everyone HAS to watch their caloric intake, or their cholestorol intake for that matter. I am 44 years old, I weigh 110 pounds and I eat like a trucker. Steak, eggs over easy, toast, American fries, pancakes and a tall glass of orange juice for me for breakfast. Lunch is either a sandwich or fast food. Dinner is always a BIG plate full of meat, potatoes and veggies. I also drink (on average) 2-3 bottles of Coke a day. I smoke about a pack to a pack and a half a day. My doctor says I am healthy as a horse and I could probably have 2-3 more kids if I wanted to. My heart is strong as a truck. My cholesterol level is perfect. I have normal blood pressure. I have absolutely NO body fat. I am sure there are MANY other Americans out there that have the same diagnosis from their physician as well.

I also snack on junk food every day too. I love cookies and cakey things. I won't even buy fat-free or reduced calorie stuff, it just tastes plain nasty.

There used to be a place in Waukesha that was called Naugels. They had the BIGGEST and the BEST burritos on the planet. I really miss them!

GITRDONE, I'm so jealous, I'll admit to that! Sounds like you probably come from good genes. I unfortunately don't, I do have to watch everything so that I don't fall into all of my families health problems. I wish I could trade.

I don't see Hardees trying to pin someone down and forcing this food on them. I have to watch my diet like a hawk because I am prone to being way overweight. Still, as a very occaisional treat I'll have a Thickburger from Hardees since it is, IMHO, the best tasting fast-food burger out there. This breakfast burrito is the same thing. I'd probably avoid it. But if someone wants to have one for the occaisional treat, what's the diff?

Until we become the ultimate nanny state ala Singapore (where bubblegum is outlawed and you can be caned for spitting), we are free to make choices. Government can educate about choices. But it better not try to remove our ability to choose.

Git - I am the same as you, only I'm in my upper 40's. Both my parents smoked while I was a child. I also have been smoking for many many years and I'm as healthy as a horse to! I am very active! I do all my parents yard work, all their house cleaning, I take care of my brother who has Downs Syndrome and I work outside the home! I hardly ever get sick and never ever have respiratory problems. Maybe I was blessed with good genes, I don't' know but I feel very healthy!

Mbeth - you sir/and or/madam are one rude person for spewing your nasty remarks on Julie Feldmans blog! You just don't know when to quit do you? Don't your realize what a fool your making of yourself?

FYI ---

This is from our 5 pm newscast tonight (Wed. 10/17)

"The Center of Science in the Public Interest calls it (Hardee's Breakfast Burrito) a breakfast bomb."

Not meant to "dis" anyone --- just reporting what we hear!

We watched the report and while doing homework, we used Ted's statement about the buritto as an example to explain homework.

We were working on is it a fact or an opinion. So we rewound the segment a few times.

Thanks for your opinion Ted!

You see me talking on television about health topics. It is my worktime passion, driven by the many rewards from viewers who call or write to share their challenges or a thank you for information that might have improved the quality of their life. When I'm not working, I'm hanging with my family, gardening, or having fun with friends. I can honestly say, Milwaukee is my home and I love it here! I'm going on twenty years in the same city and at the same television station. That's a lifetime in the television business! I like all sorts of music. I'm hooked on the show "Damages" and I think I'm addicted to the computer game Spider Solitare. I've been known to say, 'Just one more game and I'll turn off the computer! I just know I can beat my last score!'
