Aaron Rodgers had every right to say what he did.

How would you feel is you started a new job and everyone was telling you they wanted the old person back, before you even had a chance to show them what you can do?

You are telling me that you would rather hold on to an aging qb with maybe one or two good years left in him as opposed to a young qb who could possibly be the next big thing and take us all the way to the Super Bowl? How soon you forget that we haven't WON a Super Bowl since 1996 with Favre at the helm! And now everyone is convinced we can't win one without him?

Yes, Brett was great. He is probably about the third best qb ever. But his time with the Packers is over.

Frankly, I think the fans got off easy with what Rodgers did say. He had a right to say a heck of a lot more. Brett wasn't going to be around forever, so I do agree with Rodgers. Quit your whining and let the man do what he was drafted to do!

And if you can't take the fact that Brett is gone, then don't even bother calling yourself a Packer's fan.

Honestly, it's the media's fault. They jump on every word Brett says. Of course he has the itch to play. It's what he did for decades.
Rodgers did not have the right to say "shut up".
This is not a new job for him. Sure it's a promotion, but not new. We have seen him play. We have seen him woose out with minor injuries. Having an attitude won't help.
I can handle Brett is gone. Can the media?
I can not handle Rodgers saying we should shut up. I have been a Packers fan from day one and even through the 80's. I always will be, but I won't even try to back someone with a bad attitude. Aaron has a lot to prove. He shouldn't be compared to Brett. That's like apples and oranges.

So Katbird, you are telling me that if you took over a job from someone who was "great" and everyone around you was telling you that they wish the old person would come back to the job, that wouldn't irk you a bit? Before you had even did a single thing for your job?

I would go out and prove I could do the job.
He has shown us his abilities and , at times, did an ok job.
It would irk me, but I would be even more determined to prove I was better, not tell people to shut up.

The problem is that some Favre fans are so rabid they refuse to give anyone else a chance.

I've read most of the blogs on this topic and there are some really good points out there. The best one would be that with Favre the Green Bay Packers are a Super Bowl bound team, and with Rodger's they are not. It's as simple as that.

We all know Rodgers isn't going to give us what we want. Him taking a cocky attitude towards the fans with whom he seek acceptance from, is a very stupid move. But you are right JoJoBoom he does have the right, not because of this Favre business because of the Bill of Rights. Everyone has the freedom of speech.

Rodgers + Packers = Possible Wild Card spot

Favre + Packers = Possible Super Bowl Appearance

Ya see what I'm getting at????

Maj-

How can you be so sure that Favre will take this team to the Super Bowl? And that Rodgers won't?

How do you know Rodgers isn't going to give us what we want?

How many Super Bowls has Favre taken us to? How many have we missed out on since he became qb?

And if you want to get a little more picky, who holds the record for most career thrown interceptions?

And how many games were lost due to interceptions? And when was the last game lost because of an interception thrown by Favre?

I agree, give Rodgers a chance, an opportunity to shine. Favre irks me by acting like he can't make up his mind, if he wants to come back, he should say "I'm Back"....why beat around the ol' cheesehead.

Shut up or speak up Favre. Stop making us wait. Make up your mind what you want to do.
