My husband and I just got back from a five day vacation in California. Hate away if you must. (wink, wink)

While it wasn't sweltering-hot, laying-out or ocean-dwelling weather, it was wonderful to be away during yet another Wisconsin blast from the skiies. The temperatures ranged between 40 at night to 68 during the day allowing me to walk and bike comfortably (though I did need a sweater at night.)

But man - you should have seen these California people shivering in their layers of sweaters, jeans, boots, jackets and hats! HA! Every single time (which was often) some local complained about how 'cold' it was I had to laugh... "I live in Wisconsin and there it's 12 degrees. 63 is not cold!" Buncha babies!

It made me realize - those of us in the Midwest are a lot tougher when it comes to brutal temperatures. I suppose we have Mother Nature to thank for that!

63 Degrees Is Cold To Them? My Moms Dogs Stay Warmer Than That and One of Them Still Shed and The Other One Got So Much Fur, I Be Thinking That Dog Is One of My Black Socks. (OK, That Joke Probably Was Not All That Funny, But I'm Still Working On My Lines)...

Apparently, As You Said, They've Never Been To The Midwest Before. I Think Those People Need A Little Geography Lesson/Weather WakeUp Call. They Should Come Here To Wisconsin or Go Up To Minnesota or Because They Don't Know What Cold Is Until They've Actually Got In The Cold.

In 68 Degree Weather, I'll Have On My Shorts Still Because It Would Still Feel Like Somewhere In 70s. Well, At Least We Can Both Agree On The Same Thing. We, As The People of Wisconsin and Part of The Midwest Region Got Way More Heart Than The People Out West Where You Went To Go Vacation At.

Next Thing You Know, Before You Know It, They Going To Be Complain About How Hot It Is During The Summer Time. UHH--If You Come Here, It Aint Going To Be No Better Because The Heat Wave And Humidity Is Going To Make It Feel Like The Same Temperature 95-100 or Above. Good Luck With That...

I'm the newest face in the FOX 6 sports department... and I love tapping out little sports blogs to inform, entertain and encourage conversation. I'll be on the desk this fall for the High School Blitz (Fridays @ 10:20pm), the Saturday sportscasts (6, 9 & 10) and joining the veterans every Sunday for the Fox Six Blitz! Most other days, you can find me bouncing around Milwaukee's sport scenes working on feature reporting. Got an opinion? We've got the perfect place to share them! Blog away! You know we will!
