Isn't it against the law to not pay people on their payday or is that just for regular employees? So SRI has a habit of paying their drivers (ind. contracted) late. This usually happens when we need that check the most. A few months ago, it happened when we needed to pay our gas/electric bill. This time (yes, it is LATE again) our rent is due and do not have it. In fact, if we don't pay it today we get a $50 late fee. After another 5 days... another late fee and so on, you get the picture. So, why does this place keep doing this? How can they get away with it? And can I ask them to pay my late fees?

Answers...

1) The office people are lazy and have little follow through. They yell at their drivers for little or no reason and have NO idea what the heck’s going on most of the time.

2) Because the drivers aren't 'real' employees, they can screw with them all they want and not have to deal with all the employment laws.... Nice, huh?

3) No, they have no feelings for their drivers. They don't care that say gas has gone up a dollar a gallon since they priced the routes, they won't give tem anymore money because they feel the .40 they get at tax time per gallon is enough. So why would they even consider paying late fees that their stupidity and lack of professionalism caused?

The moral of the story... stay away from SRI, if you want real stability in your life money wise. They don't fricken care about anyone but themselves.

Seeing as gas is headed towards the $4 mark, are companies that have independently contracted delivery drivers (start renting/auto mart ect.), raising the price per delivery (is about $1.75 per stop).
No, they're not!!! They are expecting their drivers to keep doing their jobs with no extra pay. So a normal pay check, lets say is 700 every two weeks. Normally, about $90-$120 of hat goes to gas. Right now that has gone up to more then $200 every two weeks, are you kidding me??? (This is with Buick... not a SUV)

So, those who like these free magazines, expect to not find them, as the cost of gas is going to cause a strike unless these companies like sri, tdi, auto trader and auto mart start to pay up.

So we were watching the super Tuesday coverage on cable 48 (fox news) and there was this guy (Carl Cameron) talking right into the camera and  we could see the gum in his mouth. I was expecting to see it fall out of his mouth. I found it not only gross but also distracting. I've taken man public speaking classes and one thing they say is very important... Don't have gum in your mouth!

Have you ever noticed that when you get an oil change at 'scrub-a-dub' or similar oil change places that most often you pay the same price for an oil change for a tiny car as you would for a big 4x4 truck?

Today, I went to one of these places in my tiny little 3.5 q. (of oil) car. I asked the guy if it would be cheaper for me seeing as my car takes less oil then most cars because I know for a fact that we pay the same price for a 5.5-quart oil change. They said no. Shouldn't that be the case though?? If my car takes 2 quarts less oil then the average 5.5, then I shouldn't have to pay for a 5.5-quart change... should I?

Why do oil companies feel the need to squeeze those extra pennies out of us unsuspecting consumers? Aren't there laws against this? This is a good case for our contact 6 people to look into...

Thanks to everyone for their comments. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in my 'suffering'.

I have decided that I will not be working in retail next holiday season (if I can help it). This is completely nuts! Luckily, I will be graduating in the spring and will hopefully get a job in my chosen field. Until then, here are a list of my latest incounters wiuth the rude hoiliday goers in southeaster Wisconsin (in no perticu;ar order):

- The rude guy who walked up to my counter, slammed down his keys and said 'I want that GPS thinge behind you' in a very loud and condesending voice. Then preseaded to tap his fingers as I told him that I would help once I was finsihed witht he TWO other customers he cut in front of.

- A woman who demanded that I sell her the rip stick that was on sale ONLY during our two day door buster, last Fri and Sat, then swore at me because SHE didn't read the large print on top of the ad stating the price was only available those to days. She finally left (swearing) after the manager told her he WOULD NOT honor that price, as it clearly stated on the ad the time restriction.

- The couple that came into the store, and tried to return a bunch of items that had rebates. The barcodes were torn off and the receipt was from 10 months ago and we no longer had the item in stock. They were told that we could refund (via gift card) the price minus the rebate they got in the mail. (this is per our policy). They sighed and swore and left. Went to another store (as they called us) and then came back. Still angry and rude... but took the gift card.

I'll share more of my adventures another time. Class is starting soon.

Okay people!!! Here's the deal... I know it's the time of year for Christmas shopping and that everyone is in a hurry, grouchy and all that. But chill out!!!

Today, while working at one of the hundreds of stores that opened at 5am; I had to deal with those of you who are mean and horrible jerks, who take out your frustrations on me and my co-workers.

It's not our fault YOU didn't read the ad that states that certain things are excluded from coupons, that YOU weren't one of the 200 people who got that new in demand toy... Because YOU didn't want to wait outside our door at 4:45am to get it.  Or that when I asked you if you wanted a gift receipt, but YOU said no... Then changed YOUR mind when it was to late. Oh well, you snooze you loose! But DON'T take it out on us.

Remember, just because we work in retail, we are not doormats you can step all over. How would you like me to come into your place of work, yell and swear at you, call you names and just be a complete jerk even though you didn't have anything to do with why I am angry.....

I love taking pictures and dislike customer service jobs. I think that people don't have enough respect for those who do customer service jobs, therefore in return, they get poor service. I graduate next week with a degree in Graphic Design and can't wait to leave my current position for better pay and hopefully more respect from customers and co-workers.
