Background:
I'm a right lane drive. I HATE the middle and left lanes as there is always someone coming up fast . Infact, atleast once a day I have near misses with insane drivers who are going to fast.
We've all seen the signs and television ads, "slow down or move over for emergency vehicles". I do, I always slow down to 10 miles per hour UNDER the posted speed and move as far over in my lane as possible. If traffic is thin, I move over to the middle lane. Tonight, on 894, I came across a cop on the side of the road. As usual, I slowed down and moved far into the left part of my lane, a little into the middle. Because there were cars flying past me in the far left lane and coming up fast behind me in the middle, I stayed put for fear of getting hit by the speeders. Keep in mind I'm going about 46 miles per hour, someone who's not paying attention could easily smack intomy back side. I kept a eye on this officer and his car and was careful to kep as much ditance between him and me. But guess what. A cop that was sitting in front of him pulled me over. He said I didn't move over. I quoted all the signs "slow down or move over" he said that was not the law, that it was slow down if you can't move over. I responded that it should say that then, as I did slow down and did move over in my lane and was partially in the middle, and that I was fearful to move over much futher because of the cars coming up behind me. He didn't care, didn't tell me my speed or anything. I will be fighting this to a jury trial if I have to. I feel that I did nothing wrong, all the ads and signs I've seen just say slow down or move over. If that is not the law then it should give more detail of the law. They can not give someone a ticket for following the sign, when the sign is wrong. I will see ya'll in court I suppose.

I think people need to embrace the saying, "Treat others as you wish to be treated."
