Isn't it against the law to not pay people on their payday or is that just for regular employees? So SRI has a habit of paying their drivers (ind. contracted) late. This usually happens when we need that check the most. A few months ago, it happened when we needed to pay our gas/electric bill. This time (yes, it is LATE again) our rent is due and do not have it. In fact, if we don't pay it today we get a $50 late fee. After another 5 days... another late fee and so on, you get the picture. So, why does this place keep doing this? How can they get away with it? And can I ask them to pay my late fees?
Answers...
1) The office people are lazy and have little follow through. They yell at their drivers for little or no reason and have NO idea what the heck’s going on most of the time.
2) Because the drivers aren't 'real' employees, they can screw with them all they want and not have to deal with all the employment laws.... Nice, huh?
3) No, they have no feelings for their drivers. They don't care that say gas has gone up a dollar a gallon since they priced the routes, they won't give tem anymore money because they feel the .40 they get at tax time per gallon is enough. So why would they even consider paying late fees that their stupidity and lack of professionalism caused?
The moral of the story... stay away from SRI, if you want real stability in your life money wise. They don't fricken care about anyone but themselves.

Seeing as gas is headed towards the $4 mark, are companies that have independently contracted delivery drivers (start renting/auto mart ect.), raising the price per delivery (is about $1.75 per stop).
No, they're not!!! They are expecting their drivers to keep doing their jobs with no extra pay. So a normal pay check, lets say is 700 every two weeks. Normally, about $90-$120 of hat goes to gas. Right now that has gone up to more then $200 every two weeks, are you kidding me??? (This is with Buick... not a SUV)
So, those who like these free magazines, expect to not find them, as the cost of gas is going to cause a strike unless these companies like sri, tdi, auto trader and auto mart start to pay up.

First off let me say that I hate flying! I feel that if God wanted us to fly, he would have given us all wings. So, Tuesday we flew from mke (the concourse was BEAUTFIL!!!) to Atlanta through Air Tran, it was a pleasant flight, well… as pleasant as a flight could be with numbing ear pain from the chance of altitude.
The flight attendants were very kind and our flight was nearly empty, only about 20 out of the 50 seats taken. The pilot though, seemed to have been a fighter pilot in his past life as he liked to take corners and such very fast and caused the heart to flutter a bit, but that’s not the reason for the blog entry, nope. Aside from MKE not having Pepsi products and ‘trigger happy’ pilot, this is not the reason fro the typing.
We arrive at Atlanta airport about 4pm (3 central) and it was packed... mush unlike mke was when we left. We walked what seemed like forever to find a Wendy’s so we could eat dinner (we had a 3.5 hour layover) we got our seats and as my husband rested, I got in line. I stood in line for 20 minutes while the rude southerners ignored me and took everyone else (who was behind me) in front of me. Finally I got to place my order and got a “What do you want?” Trying to be civil for my husband’s sake, I just ordered, got our food and left. Fine and dandy, we ate our over priced and stall food tossed our garbage and headed back to our gate.
Once there we were able to hook up to a power supply and play some peggle and relaxed. After a while, we decided to get some ice cream, so I left my husband with our things and ventured out to the great unknown of concourse c, found baskin robin’s and made my selection. I saw that the woman who scooped our double chocolate fudge brownie ice cream appeared to be wearing latex gloves. I being severally allergic to latex asked the cashier if the girl was wearing latex or vinyl gloves, She responded “what does it matter, it doesn’t concern you!” Being a my husband was far enough away not to be embarrassed, and this girl REALLY ticked e off, I said very loudly and in a angry voice,” Actually it does concern me, I’m severally allergic to latex” At this point, the manager’s ears perked up as well as the other customers. They checked and in fact she Was wearing latex gloves, I responded that they can keep their ice cream then and left. Side note: I can not believe how many place still use latex gloves to prepare food when there are so many people with severe latex allergies. (Famous Daves on south 27th street also uses latex gloves.)
Anywho, So after all that I went back to our gate empty handed, thirsty and craving ice cream. So, the story continues one the next plane, older then the first. First, our flight attendant “Grace” was a total witch (with a b). once we all boarded the plane (almost full btw) she asked those of us if we knew we were in the emergency exit seats (we like these seats as we have more foot room) my husband shook his head and she said “the proper answer sir is yes.” She asked me the same question and I said yep, she again said “the proper answer is yes” I said yep again, she kept repeating herself until I said yes. She then proceeded to tell us that we have to be prepared to blah blah blah, I tuned her out at this point. She just gave me a nasty look and walked away. So the rest of the flight was uneventful, other then the evil woman not asking us if we wanted refills when she asked everyone including the people next to us.

Weather
I got this in an email from my Mom (in Ky), I'm sure it's a forward someone sent her. I just had to share.
It's winter in Wisconsin
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Wisconsin
when the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Wisconsin
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!!

For the last several years.. 6 I think, I've enjoyed listening to 105.3 the fish. Sunday morning praise is my favorite, when I can't get to church, it is what gets me through the week to come.
The fish... has been there for me via the airways, both on the radio and online, when I've needed it the most. Somehow, maybe with Gods help, they always seemed to play the songs I needed to hear when I needed to hear it. Hours after my sisters home burnt down and she and her kids barely got out alive, at the lowest parts of my life. The fish was what helped me get over the hump. The encouraging and family friendly atmosphere made me laugh and cry and sometime both at the same time.
The fish has been sold to klove. Most of us know this. This Sunday (tomorrow) is the last Sunday morning praise.
Goodbye old friend!

So we were watching the super Tuesday coverage on cable 48 (fox news) and there was this guy (Carl Cameron) talking right into the camera and we could see the gum in his mouth. I was expecting to see it fall out of his mouth. I found it not only gross but also distracting. I've taken man public speaking classes and one thing they say is very important... Don't have gum in your mouth!

SO come all you closet block heads, who's with me? I know I'm going if they come near Wisconsin!! Whoohoo!
New Kids Back on the Block
The wait is over. The boy band that spawned all boy bands will hit the stage one more time, according to People. The band's website has been down for years, but was recently redesigned and is up and running. A source says the official tour announcement will be made in the coming days.
In the early '90s, NKOTB were melting hearts of teen girls all over the world, selling 50 million albums, before they walked off the block in 1994. Now the thirty-ish singers will go "step by step" and belt out their greatest hits for thousands of screaming women. They hope.

He was found dead in his bed in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at 3:35 PM ET today. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe it was not a crime.

I am at a loss for words... I feel so horrible for his family, especially his daughter... :(

Have you ever noticed that when you get an oil change at 'scrub-a-dub' or similar oil change places that most often you pay the same price for an oil change for a tiny car as you would for a big 4x4 truck?
Today, I went to one of these places in my tiny little 3.5 q. (of oil) car. I asked the guy if it would be cheaper for me seeing as my car takes less oil then most cars because I know for a fact that we pay the same price for a 5.5-quart oil change. They said no. Shouldn't that be the case though?? If my car takes 2 quarts less oil then the average 5.5, then I shouldn't have to pay for a 5.5-quart change... should I?
Why do oil companies feel the need to squeeze those extra pennies out of us unsuspecting consumers? Aren't there laws against this? This is a good case for our contact 6 people to look into...

You'll never guess how many people have forgotten (or ignore) the reason for Christmas. Okay, so maybe you can... And there is the problem. The fact that it has become Okay for us not to acknowledge the meaning of Christmas. And I'm not talking abut how it used to be this or that type of holiday, who started it first why it was originally started. The fact is that CHRISTMAS was 'developed' to celebrate the birth of Jesus, Christ.
I'll admit, when I was a kid, Jesus was not the main focus at Christmas. Sure, we had our nativity set (which we put up on Turkey day) but I do not remember talking about the true meaning of Christmas, the reason for it ect with my parents during that time. There are a few other times a year that I vaguely remember something about it (as a kid) and I could very well not be remembering being told the story. Either way, that is sad. Shouldn't we remember important 'stories' like that, and who told us?
I'll tell you what I do remember, and this is a good example of how bad things can go in a church. In about 1981 or 1982, my family attended a church on the south side of Kenosha. One day, I think it was Sunday school, the pastors daughter and I got into a argument (I was 6 or 7) She had said tat the church was her Daddy's church. I got angry and told her that it was JESUS'S church and that her Daddy worked for him. (That's all I remember) according to my parents, Aunts/Uncles and grandparents, the argument got ugly... As ugly as 6 year old girls get... And we were asked NOT to return to the church. SO, you tell me... Was it her Daddy's church or is it Jesus's church? (BTW, I believe the same pastor is still there as pastor)
I'm not trying to judge people on this topic, that's not MY job. But, it would be nice to hear something about Christmas on the radio/TV about it, besides on the fish (my favorite radio station btw). What's your take?

Thanks to everyone for their comments. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in my 'suffering'.
I have decided that I will not be working in retail next holiday season (if I can help it). This is completely nuts! Luckily, I will be graduating in the spring and will hopefully get a job in my chosen field. Until then, here are a list of my latest incounters wiuth the rude hoiliday goers in southeaster Wisconsin (in no perticu;ar order):
- The rude guy who walked up to my counter, slammed down his keys and said 'I want that GPS thinge behind you' in a very loud and condesending voice. Then preseaded to tap his fingers as I told him that I would help once I was finsihed witht he TWO other customers he cut in front of.
- A woman who demanded that I sell her the rip stick that was on sale ONLY during our two day door buster, last Fri and Sat, then swore at me because SHE didn't read the large print on top of the ad stating the price was only available those to days. She finally left (swearing) after the manager told her he WOULD NOT honor that price, as it clearly stated on the ad the time restriction.
- The couple that came into the store, and tried to return a bunch of items that had rebates. The barcodes were torn off and the receipt was from 10 months ago and we no longer had the item in stock. They were told that we could refund (via gift card) the price minus the rebate they got in the mail. (this is per our policy). They sighed and swore and left. Went to another store (as they called us) and then came back. Still angry and rude... but took the gift card.
I'll share more of my adventures another time. Class is starting soon.

Okay people!!! Here's the deal... I know it's the time of year for Christmas shopping and that everyone is in a hurry, grouchy and all that. But chill out!!!
Today, while working at one of the hundreds of stores that opened at 5am; I had to deal with those of you who are mean and horrible jerks, who take out your frustrations on me and my co-workers.
It's not our fault YOU didn't read the ad that states that certain things are excluded from coupons, that YOU weren't one of the 200 people who got that new in demand toy... Because YOU didn't want to wait outside our door at 4:45am to get it. Or that when I asked you if you wanted a gift receipt, but YOU said no... Then changed YOUR mind when it was to late. Oh well, you snooze you loose! But DON'T take it out on us.
Remember, just because we work in retail, we are not doormats you can step all over. How would you like me to come into your place of work, yell and swear at you, call you names and just be a complete jerk even though you didn't have anything to do with why I am angry.....

Traffic
Background:
I'm a right lane drive. I HATE the middle and left lanes as there is always someone coming up fast . Infact, atleast once a day I have near misses with insane drivers who are going to fast.
We've all seen the signs and television ads, "slow down or move over for emergency vehicles". I do, I always slow down to 10 miles per hour UNDER the posted speed and move as far over in my lane as possible. If traffic is thin, I move over to the middle lane. Tonight, on 894, I came across a cop on the side of the road. As usual, I slowed down and moved far into the left part of my lane, a little into the middle. Because there were cars flying past me in the far left lane and coming up fast behind me in the middle, I stayed put for fear of getting hit by the speeders. Keep in mind I'm going about 46 miles per hour, someone who's not paying attention could easily smack intomy back side. I kept a eye on this officer and his car and was careful to kep as much ditance between him and me. But guess what. A cop that was sitting in front of him pulled me over. He said I didn't move over. I quoted all the signs "slow down or move over" he said that was not the law, that it was slow down if you can't move over. I responded that it should say that then, as I did slow down and did move over in my lane and was partially in the middle, and that I was fearful to move over much futher because of the cars coming up behind me. He didn't care, didn't tell me my speed or anything. I will be fighting this to a jury trial if I have to. I feel that I did nothing wrong, all the ads and signs I've seen just say slow down or move over. If that is not the law then it should give more detail of the law. They can not give someone a ticket for following the sign, when the sign is wrong. I will see ya'll in court I suppose.
