Its been awhile since I wrote, but I think this is an appropriate time to do so. I know there are going to be a lot of blogs like this today, but that is the beauty of this site. This is a great way for us fans to thank Brett for his dedication, passion, and for his love of the game. As were many fans this morning, I was shocked and sad to hear Brett was finally retiring. Everyone was expecting it, and a lot of us probably yelled for Brett to retire during one of his mistakes during the game, but its still a shock. It is going to be hard for us fans to picture our beloved team, without seeing the number 4 on the screen, or to not hear his name mentioned in excitement when a big play is made. It is honestly very sad to hear that Favre is retiring. Its the end of another dynasty, the end of another legend, the end of another hero. It is now a time of remembrance and now a time of rebuilding for the Packers. Brett was undoubtedly the greatest player to ever play. Better than Marino, better than Young, better than Namath, and do I even dare say, better than Starr. Brett was a class act, he wasn't like a lot of the players in the NFL today. He was down to earth, melancholy, and just himself. You would never see Brett taking out a sharpie and signing a ball after a touchdown, or grabbing a cheerleaders pompoms and celebrating. He is a great role model for kids, and an all around great guy to look up too. This is what made Brett so different than the rest of the players in the NFL. He had a great attitude and great respect for the game. He took his mistakes in pride, and down played his achievements like they were nothing. He didn't like bragging about his records, and he didn't like talking about himself at all. All he cared about was his family, his fans, and the game. This is why Brett is loved by so many people, not just in Wisconsin, but all over the world. Those are the reasons many fans have a lot of memories of Brett, but theres only a few that stand out for me. One of the best Brett memories is the game he played against Oakland, after his Dad passed. I believe that is his best game ever, due to personal reasons. He won that game not for the team, not for the fans, but for his Dad. The second most memorable game for me is Super Bowl XXXI . This was a great game for Brett, this game made the doubters believers. This game turned the haters into fans. It really proved Brett was the legend he was being made into. It showed that Brett was the real deal, and he was the quaterback that was right for our team. The last memorable Brett moment for me wasn't on the field, or on TV even. It was when I went up to Green Bay to watch the team practice before the pre-season. It was the season after Super Bowl XXXI, and I was watching the team practice. During practice, they would hand out tickets to fans along the fence to be able to get inside the autograph session afterwards. I saw the guy handing out tickets, so I stuck my fingers through the fence, and was handed one. After getting the ticket, I learned Brett would be one of the players signing autographs. I freaked out, I couldn't believe I was going to meet Brett. So when the time came, I entered the field approached the first two players said thanks and moved on to Brett. I walked up to Brett and handed him my program guide for training camp. As he signed my program guide, he looked up at me and asked, "You're not going to sell this are you?" We both laughed and I replied "No." I will never forget that day, but there is two things I regret about that day. I regret not spending the money on a Brett jersey for him to sign, and I regret for not being more careful later on. After I got home from vacation, I accidentally spilled milk on the program. Luckily the program is still usable, and still readable, and the autographs are still intact, but probably not worth anything. Ruined autograph or not, it still amazes me I got the opportunity to meet Brett. I only wish Brett could of played one more year, so than I would have another year to save my money up to replace that autograph with a better one that isn't ruined. What isn't ruined though, is Brett's legacy. Brett leaves behind a long and impressive path of records, millions of fans, the respect and the love of them game, but most of all a lot of great memories for sports fans. Brett will surely be missed on Sunday's, but he will never be forgotten. Thank you Brett.

Alright, I'm getting so tired of hearing about the controversy over the whole name of the Christmas tree. Should it be called a Christmas tree or a holiday tree? Well thats a no brainer for an answer. It should be called a Christmas tree. Heres the reasons why. For one, the tree goes up for Christmas, hence the name Christmas tree. Another reason it should be called a Christmas tree is because its our holiday, and we can do and name it whatever we want. I don't understand why people of other religions are complaining about the tree. Seriously, if you don't believe in Christmas, thats fine. Everyone has their own right to believe in whatever religion they want to. I just don't see why the people of other religions feel the need to be offended when we put up the Christmas tree. If your religion doesn't celebrate Christmas, then there is no reason for you to have a big fuss about the tree being called a Christmas tree. It would be stupid to call it a holiday tree. We don't put up a Christmas tree for Hanukkah, or Ramadan. We put it up for Christmas. Telling us to change the name of the tree to a holiday tree is like telling the Jewish to change the name of the menorah to the holiday candle. If you don't celebrate Christmas, then there isn't any need for the other religions to make us change the way we celebrate. If Christmas isn't your holiday, then just deal with all the Christmas commercials, decorations, songs, and other traditions that go along with the Christmas season. No need to ruin the holiday and tradition for the people who celebrate Christmas. Please let us celebrate Christmas the way it has been celebrated for all these years. Let us keep the Christmas tree, the music, and decorations. Let us people who celebrate this holiday, celebrate it the way it should be celebrated. It only comes once a year, and then its over and done with until next year. In other words, if it is a holiday you don't celebrate, then don't worry about it. No need to make a huge controversy over something you don't believe in. If your so interested in our Christmas holiday, then convert to a religion that celebrates it. Easy as that. Don't ruin the fun for everyone else. With that said, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Hey everyone, its been awhile since I have blogged about anything, been kind of busy looking for jobs, which I haven't found yet. Anyways, I just wanted to hand out my "Idiot of the Day Award" to Kenosha's dumbest driver. I have seen some really dumb people do some really dumb things, like making turns in a non designated turning lane, passing on double yellows, running red lights, but this one tops the idiot cake in my book. I was coming back home from my walk down by the lake and I was at a red light. So like most drivers, I'm just sitting there watching cars go by, and I looked to my left, and saw a group of three cars waiting to turn left. They start making their turn, and the third car in line, decides to cut his turn short. He decides to pass the the two cars in front of him on the left, which means driving into the oncoming lane, flooring it, passing the two cars, then finally getting into his lane. Ironically he used his turn signal to signal that he wanted to get back into his proper lane. The worst part of the story is, not even five seconds after he gets into his proper lane, oncoming traffic comes down the road, and in the pack of cars is a sheriff SUV. I couldn't believe what I saw, and I was mad the sheriff didn't show up earlier. I would of loved to see the sheriff turn around and pull him over, but it didn't happen. The guy must of been in a rush, because I never saw him again. I can guarantee though, if he got pulled over, I would of slowed down enough to point and laugh at him though. So lets all give a round of applause and congratulate the owner of the newer model Mazda, for being the "Idiot of the Day." Lets just hope and pray this idiot doesn't end up killing some innocent pedestrian or driver someday. If anyone can top this Idiot of the day, feel free to tell me, I would love to hear about it.

Alright, I'm going to give everyone a little personal insight on what its like to be someone my age who is unemployed, and searching for jobs. First of all for the people who don't know me, here are some quick facts about me.

*23 yr old male from Kenosha, living at home with his dad (oh joy!! <-- sarcasm)

*Graduated from high school with my diploma and went to college for two years. Left college with a certificate in web design. Only reason I went for a certificate instead of a degree in something like computer science is because of my dyslexia in math. No matter how hard I tried or studied, I would always fail math tests, even with the help of tutors. So I know I wouldn't be able to get anywhere quick.

*Worked at a golf course for 5 years (left in Jan 2007 to look for full time work)

So this is where my problems start. In order to help me find a job, I applied to temp agencies. Not just one or two temp agencies but at five. I applied at Adecco in Kenosha and in Milwaukee, Kelly Services, PA Staffing, Employment Solutions, and Trinity Staffing. With their help I was able to land five jobs. They had me working at a bank for two weeks (was fired, they didn't train me properly,) at a athletic center, doing telemarketing to sell memberships (lasted 2 weeks,) at an assembly line in Racine (I left after one day due to language barriers,) at a call center doing surveys over the phone (quit that job also,) and finally at SC Johnson doing product testing. SC Johnson was the best one, I worked for a month (was originally suppose to be 2 days,) and I was making $12 a hour. There was even hope that I may get put on another assignment making $15 a hour. Well the other assignment went to someone else, and my time at SC Johnson ended. Since then I have been looking for jobs and getting more and more frustrated every day. The job market is horrible, there is nothing for someone like me to apply to. I am looking for office work, because I have a bad back, and I can't be bending or standing all day. I have a lot of years of experience with customer service and working on computers. I have keyboarding skills, and skills at using Microsoft Office and Windows OS platforms. I was also thinking with SC Johnson on my resume, I would be able to land a job faster, since thats such a reputable company. Unfortunately I am wrong. This is what upsets me, I obviously have experience to be able to get myself working in an office, but the companies think otherwise. I am always getting rejected and told I don't have enough experience. No companies are willing to train to anyone anymore. So how are people my age supposed to get their foot in the door and get the experience they need in order to get these jobs. It is so frustrating!! As I said before, I'm 23 years old, its really upsetting knowing you're still living at home with your parents, when you know other people your age are out living on their own making anywhere from 15k up to 30k, if not more. It is even more annoying when you have an 18 year old friend who is in college, and is able to get the same jobs you're looking for with in two weeks of them starting their search. I even considered moving to Milwaukee, but now I don't think I can do that, because I wouldn't be able to support myself, because of my dwindling bank account. What am I doing wrong? If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I will take them into consideration. I am just getting so frustrated not being able to find a job, so I can finally get out on my own and support myself.

So, I was at a car show here in Kenosha this past Sunday(9/2/07,) and guess who walks past me? Tami Hughes and her camera woman. I was rather surprised. So what do I do? I snapped some pics of her like some crazed paparazzi in La (except I wasn't hiding in the bushes.) I didn't get to talk to her, because she was busy setting up the shot for her story, but she seemed to be very nice and friendly, not to mention she looked really great. Anyways here is the pic, I snapped of her. She was setting up for her shot when I took this.
