What are the packers doing? Nothing in free agency obviously. How can you compete in this league if you lose players to free agency and don't sign other quality players.

Is Ted Thompson asleep at the wheel?

The packers need to wake up and sign some talent before needed playmakers are all gone.

Concerned

Kade, Kade, Kade. Just because the Texans over-paid for Green doesn't mean the Packers should too. Green's best days are behind him. Even in his prime, he was hurt a few times thoughout the season. He's the dreaded 3 - 0 this year too, which is the falloff age for RB's. Free Agency just started and the Thompson is not going to break the bank and over pay a veteren free agent. Cooler heads will prevail.

I agree wtih Bro, Ahman isnt as good as he was and if the texans want to pay him, let them. there are plenty of free agent runningbacks. We are going to be in the rebuilding stages soon anways(for the most part we are). I say lets work on getting a quarterback too cause I dont think Aaron Rodgers can do the job once Brett is gone

Ted thompson made a good choice here, ahman is getting old and was requesting way more than hes worth, with the extra cap space the packers could sign some one better and trade up for a http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.vi
ewprofile&friendid=40020302ick in the draft that could get them adrain peterson plus the packers could improve in other positions like our weak secondary with the extra money what ever happens double t has made a good decison

the packers wouldve never given him that much money, and they shouldnt. it wouldve been nice to see ahman retire a packer, but hes not worth that kind of money. Ted Thompson is doing a great job and i agree with his philosophy of building through the draft. He's building a great young team around a core of veteran players, and the more they play together, the better theyll get. These teams are paying way too much money for washed up veterans in free agency, and im glad the packers arent one of them. Keep up the good work Ted. Free agency is not the answer.

the packers will not get adrian petersen. ive been saying all along they need to draft marshawn lynch. he would fit the packers scheme of quick cuts and power running perfectly

The Green Bay Packers NEED to do something in free agency!! We loose Green but he was on the deline anyway. We need to sign key players to help this team get back itto the playoffs. The Packers were one of the top teams with the most cap space going into free agency. It's time to use it!!

Not that I like Green, he should have been gone during his broke back years. You know the ones after his injury, where he'd get hit and go down right away. But come on, Favre has had too many excuses for bad performances, They should have let him go about four years ago. I'm surprised he hasn't made MVP for the opposing team yet. Do not defend him! He is a professional and he should play like one. Besides talk about someone being past his prime.

I feel the pack needs to look at Jamal Lewis. The packer's need power running game to take pressure off Faver. I think Jamal add to packer with new front line it may just be need piece to packer puzzle.

Well ok. I can understand losing Green on one condition...doing something in the Free Agency to take the mind off of it. The Packers have not done anything even close to a chance on any player and just keep watching all the teams get better while we go backwards. the way the offseason has already gone I look at it as another 2006 offseason...one free agent signing. The worst part is all the decent players worth signing are almost all gone and the players left do not even have a scheduled visit to Green Bay. If they dont start doing something quick we are unfortunately looking at another 4-12 record. I mean make a push even at Porter, Stallworth, Rhodes, Harper, Simmons, and Moulds. Make a move with all the money available!!! They can make more than one move..obviously we need to at only 8-8.

Make a push for Dominic Rhodes and T.J. Duckett!! Rhodes did a great job for Indy last year and Duckett is a nice big bruiser. We also need to pick up a running back in the draft, either Lynch or Petersen. Morency is ok but we need an established back.

Ted T. could always try to work a trade with Da Bears for Thomas Jones - he's supposedly on the trading block. Hard worker, tough runner, good character guy and 28-29 yrs. old with no history of injury. In addition, he's a good blocker and his holiness Favre needs all of them he can get.
