My Sunday night story on Food Stamp Fraud is getting bigtime buzz on local talk radio.  Conservative AM talker Charlie Sykes spent his entire 10 o'clock hour Tuesday morning playing the audio of our investigation (with stops for commentary) and taking calls from listeners.

Check out the podcast of Sykes' show (it's part 2 from 7/15/08).

I think what these people did was wrong and disgusting.

I receive FS and they have it in the rules that if you report something wrong or the worker does something wrong YOU are the one that has to pay it back no matter what. I think these people should be found and if they are ones that had nothing happen to them they should be made to pay it back.

bryan polcyn always does a great job with the investigative stories on the news. i have seen 2 of his investigative reports and posted a blog on each of them. he even posted a comment on those 2 blogs that i posted. people who get food vouchers that did not suffer any flood damage is victimizing the people who need it the most. as always great job on the posting of this blog.

I believe that federal fraud charges should be filed against these low-lifes.

Okay, so there is an "I" in I-Team. But don't be fooled. There's more Team than meets the eye. There are my producers, Patrick McCraney and Jennifer Schwarz. Our extraordinary editor, Dave Michuda. And then there are some of the best photojournalists in the business. As for me, I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri (Pattonville High School). I got my bachelors degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. And I've worked in both radio and television in Missouri, Iowa, and Wisconsin. In fact, I met a Wisconsin girl while working in Des Moines. We got married in the spring of 2000, moved to Kansas City, and four years later, she brought me home. We have two of the cutest kids on earth, plus two cats that give our Dyson a workout. I love snow skiing, soccer, Texas Hold 'Em, the St. Louis Cardinals, and ice cold beer (not necessarily in that order). I have a passion for my work. But there is no greater joy in my life than being a dad. Subscribe to my blog and you'll get an email everytime I add a new post.
