It is after 10 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2007 -- and it just does not feel like an ordinary April Fool's Day!

My day started early and not one person today attempted an April Fool's trick, joke or wisecrack. I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing, but I feel like the one national shared holiday devoted to good-natured fun has gone by unnoticed.

Here is my take -- it is a Sunday -- a Palm Sunday too. Maybe the wise-cracking and joking side in each of us took a break in deference to it being Sunday – a widely regarded day of rest? In any case, remember April Fool's Day antics are no good on Monday, April 2nd.

Speaking of day of rest, I worked a half day on Sunday -- which for means I am able to leave after the Wakeup show and no reporting. When those rare opportunities come along, I am able to attend a Sunday morning worship service.

Ninety-nine percent of the time I attend New Testament Church of Milwaukee near 102nd Street and Bradley Road. The Palm Sunday message by Reverend Julius Malone was superb, timely and spoke dramatically to the significance of this Holy Week.  What a blessing and a treat -- Jennifer and choir simply rocked!

I would love to hear from you readers of this post your most memorable Easter tradition!  Mine includes attending Good Friday service -- followed by a meal and discussion with friends.  While it has been a while since I tried my hand at coloring eggs, I still have my year round love affair with fruit-flavored jelly beans (I will pass on the spice-flavored variety).  Stretch your memory caps and share your favorite Easter memories -- religious or just real fun times.

Have a great week -- and remember you missed your chance at spoofing someone -- there is no such thing as a belated April Fool's Day.

Hi Bob, unfortunately my most memorial Easters are not religious. I remember getting a bike and wearing a snowsuit, because we still had snow and I remember getting a skateboard and zooming around wearing shorts and a T-shirt -- feeling so free!

I am glad you got to go to church and enjoy seeing you on fox6.

Happy Easter!

God Bless

Well my most memorable easter traditon would have to be finding eggs at my grandparents house. She would have all the grandkids over and hide hundreds of eggs in the back yard. Now they werent always real eggs, she would buy the plastic ones and put little stuff in it for us. Like candy or little toys. Then we each had a special one with our name on it that we would have to find and it would have 10 bucks in it. Now for a 5 year old that was awesome! I miss being a little kid again and doing that stuff. Hopefully someday i will be able to pass on the fun tradition. Happy Easter everyone!!
God Bless. :)

WAIT we did spend an Easter in Washington DC. THAT was memorable. Also, I can't remember the church we were at, but there was a man that looked EXACTLY like my dad. Everyone was staring at eachother. They looked like TWINS, the wierd thing is, my dad is a fraternal twin, this guy looked like is identical.

Sadly, my parents are both deceased and my only family memeber left is my bro in Florida, so we spend Easter with my husband's family. When the kids were younger we did the Easter egg hunt and traditional dinner.
It seems many traditions are slowly dying off. You don't see as many Christmas decorations or Halloween trick or treaters. Not one person I know of yesterday pulled an April Fool's Day prank. Maybe life is becoming too busy?

Kat, I think with electronics and the fast pasted life, we have lost the basis of family. HOW often, do you see a kid playing ball with a parent outside - JUST for fun.

My friend is Morman. On Sundays that is their family. They don't do anything unless the whole family is included. SO if you had a birthday party, the twins couldn't come because it wasn't a FAMILY event. Saturday night sleepover?? NOPE, 'cause it ran into Sunday.

I try to use that as a model, for the most part we had family days on Sunday, but if something comes up, I don't stand my ground that hard. We just have to do 1 thing as a family for sure...It's hard and takes a lot of discipline.

I was just throwing the football around with my 9 yr. old while BBQing yesterday.
I try very hard to make time for my kids.
We do a lot together.

Oh, I didn't mean you specifically.... I meant the world in general.

Sorry, I hope you didn't take it the wrong way.

I was just saying that people in general don't make time for their kids. We both see that at school and in our communities. The same parents do things and the same do not - but it is more that don't than do.

I didn't take offense. I was just saying.
You are right. There are many parents out there who are just too busy. I let my kids keep me busy, so between them, work and the husband, I am very busy.
